  • "The food is yummy, the service very very good. Not pretentious, Great experience and it off the beaten path, but yet the parking is still good."

  • "Always Wonderful! I feel so lucky to have this little gem in my neighborhood. Lots of delicious and varied items on the menu. The wait staff is professional and friendly. It's a total package."

  • "The selections were excellent -- although there could be more vegetarian choices. The specials were excellent. Service was good for the most part, but they were very busy -- it appeared numerous tables were receiving their entrees at the same time. Definitely would go back!"

  • "I had a reservation for party of 9 and received a call the same afternoon to confirm. At that time, I was asked if sitting outside would be ok. I noted that is was only if it were warm enough. I was assured it would be. It was not. Yes, there were heaters, but the zippers on the "tent" were broken, so all the cold air was blowing directly on our table. It was uncomfortable and made our food get cold almost immediately. The server was very nice but only came outside to our table occasionally, not enough. Do not sit outside unless it is the middle of summer and don't let them tell you otherwise!"

  • "I had the halibut special which was cooked to perfection- especially the spinach! There are a lot of vegetarian options. One note is that all of the bottles of wine are pricey. It would have been nice to see a couple more bottles in the $30 range rather than all being $50."

  • "The food is locally sourced free range etc. I haven 't had veal in almost 40 years, since I found out about crating, this is free range. Fresh humane food prepared simply seasonally and good for you. Daily a veal and a risotto special. A good gluten free pasta! Pinch me, I must be dreaming."

  • "Great restaurant. A neighborhood gem. But it astounds me they don't put some acoustic paneling on the walls/ceilings. Frequently so loud it's hard to have a conversation. Would eat there much more frequently if they address the acoustics/noise level."

  • "The food has always been borderline. We have kept trying for a year since we moved into the neighborhood. It's so close it makes an easy night out. This time will be our last. The food was not good. too bad"

  • "Locanda is a regular treat for us. We Love the outdoor patio in the warm weather after playing a round of tennis. We feel comfortable enjoying a glass of wine and dinner in our tennis attire. Love the varied menu."

  • "Had a family birthday celebration there. Overpriced for what we got and we were rushed out for the next reservation"

  • "I have been dining at Locanda for several years and no matter your tastes you'll love the food. It's excellent from the simple to the complex. They switch the menu up a bit now and again, but it's never a complete overhaul. The atmosphere is somehow great for a family dinner (though not suitable for young children), a ladies night is a romantic dinner. The only complaint I've had is that the waitstaff isn't always as attentive as I would like in checking back in to make sure you have everything you may need, but that's a minor issue. Overall, this is just simply a wonderful restaurant that you must check out."

  • "Our first visit to Locanda del Borga was very enjoyable. Loved the convenience of a real neighborhood restaurant, nestled in a small shopping area. It was easy to park even though the restaurant was crowded. There was a nice variety on the menu and some great sounding specials. I had the spinach lasagna and it was tasty but not fabulous. Others in the group had pasta dishes and seemed to like them a lot. I will try something else next time. The service was excellent. One drawback was the noise level which made talking a bit difficult."

  • "I honestly had never been over in that area, and was pleasantly surprised. Our server was attentive and not too intrusive. Food was wonderful. The dessert - chocolate torte was my favorite! I could have had 3 more!!"

  • "We eat here three or four times a year for several years. The food and service are always great. It could be a destination restaurant. We meet other couples here and everyone is always happy."

  • "Visited during restaurant week and had an excellent experience. My wife had a gluten free roasted chicken and kale dish which was inventive and tasty. I had a fettuccine dish with mushrooms, sausage and onions in a white wine sauce that really good. Our Saks were fresh and had wonderful light dressing. The service was both anticipate and relaxed (Tina was excellent) and eager to ensure our experience was memorable. The chocolate sorbet was so rich the two of us couldn't finish it but very, very good. The restaurant can get loud and a bit crowded but it's an excellent value in high end Italian."

  • "With restaurants like Locanda Del Borgo tucked away in one of Denver's premiere neighborhoods, why go anywhere else. There is parking and a whole lot more. I love the neighborhood feel and friendlyness."

  • "This was our first visit to this restaurant. The food was ok, but I wasn't overly impressed. I had the lentil soup and the spaghetti and meatballs. The soup was pretty flavorless and the spaghetti and meatballs tasted like it came out of a can of Chef Boyardee, and the meatballs were dry. Granted, they probably do better on their signature dishes, but who messes up spaghetti and meatballs? The overall service was acceptable, but our waiter could have used some additional training. The first thing he asked was if we were ready to order. He never asked if we wanted to order anything to drink, and he stumbled through the specials."

  • "Sandwiches were ok. Shrimp pasta was advertised with a garlic cream sauce which was non existent and the pasta was grossly overcooked."

  • "We went for first time Valentine's day. We wanted a local/non-chain place. The food was excellent. My wife had a spinach lasagna and I had a pasta and sausage dish. Both were great! For dessert, they had prepared homemade gelato and a chocolate tart and, once again, both were great! We will certainly go again. Nice neighborhood. Wait staff was very friendly."

  • "Locanda del Borgo is by far my wife and I's favorite Italian restaurant in the entire Denver metro area. The restaurant itself is fairly cozy so definitely make a reservation if you plan to go on a Fri or Sat night. The wine list is extensive and unique; you won't find your typical cliche pinot grigio or reisling on their wine list. I loved this and our servers were all very generous about letting us try another if we didn't like a selection. The food is AMAZING. Let me tell you, my heritage is Italian and have been to Italy several times. The chef here nailed it. My personal favorites are the fresh tagliolini with shrimp and the strip steak (ordered twice and both times it was perfect). Everything seems fresh although a bit pricey."

  • "The food was very good and the service the same, but it is noisy. High ceilings and floors without carpeting make for a noisy evening. Wish more restaurants gave this more consideration."

  • "I love this place. The food is always great, especially the Branzino. I had the swordfish special which was spectacular also. I like that beautiful vegetables can be ordered and the service is always friendly and accommodating. Locanda is kid-friendly without being kid focused and my family enjoys going again and again."

  • "LdB is on our top 3 list of favorite restaurants in the Denver area. The food is always excellent and the staff helps you pick out a fantastic wine which, by the way, are priced very reasonably compared to many restaurants. We got there 45 minutes earlier than expected but, after a drink at the bar, had our table of 6 seated early. The place was packed on a Thursday night, as it is on every night."

  • "Thanks to a friend's recommendation, we sought out this neighborhood gem for a fun, tasty and cozy dinner during our visit to Denver. The branzino cooked in the wood burning oven was delicious, served with delicious roasted Brussells sprouts and potatoes...nice wine list, lots of pastas and pizza selections - - but the piece de resistance was the house made gelato made by the owner, Giancarlo!! If you want to feel like a local (we were visiting tourists) this is a great place to do so. The service was warm and friendly and nice wine selection, including wines from the owner's native Sicily fill out the menu. Full bar too..."

  • "We took my college grad niece to dinner and had a lovely evening. She was ok with her spaghetti/veggie dish but in retrospect wished she had chosen a more traditional Italian pasta dish since she's lived in Italy. My husband, daughter and I enjoyed our dinners."

  • "We love Locanda del Borgo. The food is always fantastic. The wood-fired oven adds a wonderful aroma. The servers are excellent. Emily paired some great wines with our main courses. And we even saved room for dessert. We need to go more often."

  • "We always enjoy this spot in the Hilltop neighborhood. Great alternative to Cherry Creek, nice warm ambience and some of our favorite dishes (whole bass, Frutti de Mare, etc.) Good wine list of delicious, reasonably priced wines. Love the patio in summer and a cold cocktail after a long day."

  • "Exceptional! We have have dined here several times in recent years and this was as good as I can remember. The Osso Buco special was killer! I hope they can maintain the level of excellence the seem to have gotten to."

  • "had my favorite Italian dish, clams in white sauce...was very dissappointed.....have had much better at many places in town"

  • "It's really a shame that so many newer restaurants have ignored the noise factor in their design. This a cozy little restaurant with great food and service, but much too noisy for a romantic date ... and this was on a Wed. night. Hopefully, the situation is better during warmer weather when outdoor dining is available."

  • "Deliciously prepared, colorful, creative yet traditional food. The best truly Italian thin crust pizza. And the BEST frito misto I've ever had; light, crispy, non greasy. Even the salads are beautifully prepared. Crowded and noisy on Fri and Sat nights, but week nights are perfect. The enclosed, heated patio, when weather permits, is always quiet. This is a neighborhood crowd, comfortable yet sophisticated about food. Go sit in the bar for a glass of wine and a pizza, or dine all eve on a gourmet meal. You won't be disappointed."

  • "Great little place! We thought the dishes were very creative and very tasty. Really interesting pasta dishes that I don't think one will find in other Italian places. Very nice!"

  • "We live a short walk away so go there for lunch and dinner relatively often. Portions are just about right and there is a good selection. Sometimes food is a little heavier than we prefer but usually it's just right."

  • "Our first experience with Locanda Del Borgo was delightful enough to encourage us to return soon. Excellent flavors and special presentations are found in all the dishes they create. Only negative was the noise level."
