Lunch meeting with a business
associate. Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Money well spent. "

Interesting, retro decor. The
Brunch choices were varied and it was difficult to land on just one! Our waitress was very sweet and patient. All other staff were friendly and helpful. Our table of four all seemed to thoroughly enjoy their meals."

We had a lovely dinner at Larks at
"The Commons". I had the cod special which was cooked perfect. The fish was very fresh. My husband had the meatloaf which was very moist. We had an appetizer, dessert and a couple glasses of wine. The meal was very reasonable and the portions generous. Can not wait to go back again."

Nice birthday celebration Brittany
was an excellent waitress. Will be returning to this wonderful place"

Had a delicious lunch and can't
wait to get back for dinner or brunch"

We celebrated my husband's
birthday at Lark's in Medford this week Monday... happy hour prices were a nice surprise...my dinner was outstanding! My father-in-law said it was the best boulabaise (sp?) seafood he had ever had. I enjoyed the homey meatloaf dinner which was better than mom's! Great atmosphere- very good service. This is Medford's newest place to go for a great meal and cocktail lounge. Check it out!"

The restaurant is very attractive,
it's both quiet and relaxing. The wait-staff was was excellent. A nice place for a ladie's lunch."

While we have dined multiple times
at Larks in Ashland, this was our first time dining at the new Larks located in Medford on Riverside. The inside of the old Red Lion Hotel has been remodeled. The restaurant is hip and chic, with bold colors and tall, white Las Vegas style booths. The wait staff were all friendly and attentive. The food, known to be locally grown and raised, is delicious (but it is expensive, so taking the family out may strain the budget). The only problem is that not enough locals are aware of this gem! It's a large restaurant, and only a few tables were occupied when we visited. Come on, Medford, and support a wonderful new restaurant. We just don't have that many here that are this good."

We sat at a booth in the back and
it was a perfect place for an important client lunch. Food was delicious....will be back!"
Dined on 3/13/2014
Food was excellent but the
portions were the tiniest in the Rogue Valley, and also most expensive. Menu descriptions sound like there's a main dish (e.g., halibut) with interesting sides, but it was a tiny piece of halibut with a bit of sauce and topped with a few pinches of this and that. No rice, salad, potato, or anything other than a bread basket, for $29. Nice decor but only view was of Red Lion parking lot. For the price, I'll go to Amuse or the Paragon in Ashland, or Bambu in Medford (which is much nicer, less stingy with the servings, and more reasonably priced)."

I am so happy to have this
restaurant here! We need it so very much. I have been in to have a drink several times and glad to see the service has improved greatly. My first time with food, I am a business person and took a client out for dinner. I am sorry to say I was very disappointed with my meal. I had a Caesar salad (just ok) and the special ... Fish that was so tough. The tiramisu was excellent though. I will go again as I so believe it will improve, or this was an off night."

I TOOK MY WIFE TO LARK'S TO
CELEBRATE HER BIRTHDAY. THE ENVIRONMENT WAS FANTASTIC. SERVICE WAS GOOD. MY WIFE'S SALAD WAS VERY GOOD. THE FISH I CHOSE WAS LACKING. OVERALL, IT WAS VERY NICE."

Party of 5 on a Thursday night. We
were seated promptly. Very friendly staff at all positions. Wine list had good variety. Local wines well represented but quite expensive. Wish the markup was not so high on our Southern Oregon wines - visitors might be more willing to try them if the price point was better. Our server Daniel was quite efficient although it seemed as if he had not sampled the menu. We brought a bottle of wine and were not charged a corkage since we ordered 2 bottles off the menu. Lots of variety at the table but duck was the star. The Brie polenta duck was served on was fantastic. Gnocchi was very good. Special salad with Miners lettuce was a real treat. We will be back. Thrilled Medford now has a nice restaurant downtown."

service was great but don't be in
a hurry you may wait a while for your food"
Dined on 2/14/2014
Lark's is a great addition to
Medford's downtown with excellent interesting menu choices. Lunch is a terrific value. Salads are especially attractive and fresh. Service is just right: friendly and attentive without hovering. The dining area and lounge are bright and welcoming. Hotel guests should have no reason to venture far."

This is equal to the Larks in
Ashland in terms of great wizardry in the kitchen and very attentive service. The decor is nice, but doesn't contribute to the experience. ( Nor take away from, either.) It must rank as one of the most expensive restaurants in Medford, but since the service, food and presentation is flawless that is not a criticism, just an observation. If you want to impress someone, this would be in my top 3 list."
Dined on 2/15/2014
Food was beautifully presented and
full of flavor. It was nice to have a real waiter instead of a college student. Simple, cozy decor."

This was my 2nd time going. The
first time I went with a group of friends and it was really nice. This time I went with my husband. He is a big time foodie and loves to find a good place to eat out. He has not stopped talking to people about it. He loved it and so did I."

No ones cryin' for the old Red
Lion, as Larks has come to Medford. A creative menu with a little something for carnivores, omnivores and vegetarians--our three meals were excellent. Service was outstanding--warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We'll be back..."

Took forever to get our entrees.
Portions were very large, would have preferred lower prices with less food. Felt the prices were high for the quality and ambience. Wine bottle prices were exceedingly marked up. Desserts were good but nothing special. I will say the fried chicken was the best I've had but $26 was pretty steep. For the same money we consistently get our socks knocked off at the Bistro at the Jacksonville Inn"

I was not sure what to expect. The
prices were that of fine dining, but the choices ranged from fried chicken & meatloaf to duck & Coq Au Vin. The bread looked homemade, nice texture & flavor. The Fish Soup was "OK". The Beet Salad was presented beautifully. But, the favors did not blend well. The microgreens that topped the Beet "Raviolis" were too bitter for any balance with the beets, and one could not taste the cheese at all. The Squash Gnocchi was tender, but the favors paired within the dish did not enhance each other, but instead stood out as separate contrasting entities. Coq Au Vin was "Good". We would be back if the price reflected the flavors. But, for the $ to flavor ratio, we will go elsewhere next time."

Food was disappointing. Menu had
just been changed so we were not that impressed. We will be back to try it again."

Very good food; excellent service;
quiet surroundings; good lighting level (not too high, not too dim); we live nearby and will be visiting Lark's in Medford again."

Our first visit to Larks Medford.
The ambience was as good as expected which is nicer hotel level. The most striking feature was their service from greeting as we entered the hotel to the hostess seating us who was very amenible. Our wait person (in this case female) was energetic yet respectful, spoke clearly and concisely. All who attended our table were pleasant and cheerful. They were attentive but not intrusive. The food was good and pricing what one should expect from hotel dinning rooms. We live in Medford and plan to return from time to tme."

I have had the pleasure to have
both lunch and dinner at the new Larks at the Commons. The food and service was excellent. Mary is a great waitress."

Visited recently. Love the decor
and what was done with the room--looks fantastic. Unfortunately, there is lots of work that needs to be done. We made a reservation, but when we arrived announcing we had a reservation, the host had to look for it and no table was set aside (she figured it out on the spot). Our server was horrendous; he was slow (we waited around 12 minutes to have a glass of water) and he knew nothing about the menu or drinks. Any information we needed we had to ask for (including asking him what was on the Charcuterie plate, which was rudely put in front of us and the delivery person took off after leaving it at our table). Duck was excellent, and prepared just right, but the sides had no salt or seasoning."

While I love their dinner menu,
the brunch items are in need of help....dry omelet, potatoes not crispy with undesirable coating, dry biscuits and salty gravy. Service however is outstanding!"

We recently had lunch at Medford
Lark's. Having dined at their Ashland location on many occasions I could not help but compare the two venues. The menus are identical. The level of service, attentive, mirrors that found in Ashland. The big difference was the ambiance. Lark's Medford lacks the coziness of its sister restaurant. The restaurant feels larger, more open space and does not have the intimacy that is a hallmark of Lark's in Ashland. I was seated in a booth and looked out across the room through a bank of windows at a row of motel rooms behind which one could see the traffic on I-5. The table arrangement would benefit from something that would break up the sight line for guests whose seating faces the freeway."
Dined on 1/11/2014
We were pleased to find Lark's was
busy, they barely had room for us! Good for you! Nick was a pleasure and very attentive."

We no longer need to travel to
Ashland to enjoy a dinner at Larks. One has opened in Medford. The interior decor is colorful, yet tastefully done. Several banquettes line two of walls. Food is on a scale of high end, with unusual food combinations, such as the starter of roasted Brussels sprouts with duck confit. Delish! Our guests enjoyed the duck confit cassoulet and the meatloaf is a regular choice for my husband. Portions generous, but be aware that the prices are higher than most Medford restaurants. You get what you pay for in every way. Several wait staff make sure water glasses are full, you're enjoying your food and will accommodate any needs. My only complaint is I noticed the carpet is soiled at the hostess stand."

We were trying to make an 8:00
reservation in Ashland but it wasn't going to happen. I decided to use Open Table to see what else was available. This sister restaurant to Lark in Ashland showed up on the list! They just opened in December, 2013. And they stayed open until 9:00. We were very happy to be able to switch since we were just 10 minutes away from the Medford location. The food is the same as in Ashland - which is very good. And the wait staff was super friendly and helpful. You all saved us!!"
Dined on 12/30/2013
...almost like Ashland Larks, one
of our favorite restaurants in the Rogue Valley. The lone difference is the ambience - Ashland offers an old style charm while Medford offers more of a hotel/restaurant appeal found in larger hotels. The ambience is still good however and perhaps great in the lounge area. The food was outstanding as was the excellent service - far better than one could expect for the fist week of business...we've been twice so far and now have another fine restaurant to our short list."

We were excited to try the new
dinner place in town. The waitress was horrible. She ignored us a lot, didn't know which wines were by the glass, came back to us 15 minutes after taking our order to say she lost our order and needed to retake it.. When she filled my water glass she spilled a bunch on the table and didn't cleanit up. My wife and I just looked at each other in amazement. It's medford, so don't expect world class servers. I remember this one used to work at a deli across town . Anyways , the food was delicious! I had the meatloaf, my wife the fried chicken.. Our disappointment was around the service ( or lack of).... When you spend $100 on dinner, you just expect a little more..."

We had 6 in our birthday party
celebration. The server and staff were very accommodating and helpful. The food was very good, loved the gnocchi and bread. Highly recommend for an upscale evening. Hope to see the area around hotel improve and modernize. I liked the look and feel of Larks. Nice ambience and layout- we could all easily converse. Nice job!"
Dined on 12/22/2013
expected the food to be good
because we love Larks in Ashland, and indeed everyone loved their meal, including the kids to whom they were very accommodating and had a well-rounded kids menu. the restaurant is very large and was not busy and they graciously offered to seat in a separate area where we had plenty of privacy. Always a relief when i don't have to worry about the kids trying to chat it up with our neighbors! wait staff was super attentive. cocktails took a while to come out which was irealm of to-be-expected in their first week. everything was wonderful and I believe that in Medford there are only a couple of restaurants in this caliber of casual fine dining and perhaps no other with impeccable quality farm to table style food."

What a great dining experience.
The restaurant is beautiful, the staff friendly and efficient and the food delicious. Medford is lucky to have you!"

Had dinner on the second night
since they opened. Excellent service , great food, good wine list, good bar service. Expect a great restaurant for Medford as the restaurant gains traction. Great staff!"
