Diner Reviews
  • "The tapas were great and desserts to die for. Unfortunately, the noise was deafening, even though we were seated away from the crowd and the restaurant wasn't even full. They have a serious acoustics problem."

  • "We ordered Gazpachos and 5 tapas. The soup was very good and 3 of the 4 tapas were excellent. We enjoyed the raw kibi, calamari and the lamb skewers. We also ordered garlic shrimp and it had no taste. The General Manager, Chip Shumway, came to our table and asked why we did not like it. He replaced it immediately and it was a little better. When we said a little better he immediately said he will take it off our bill. We were very impressed with his handling of the problem tapas. We also want to complement the wait staff and the servers. They are 5 star."

  • "Brilliantly-designed space, confident, competent servers, an interesting wine list and gloriously prepared food. What's not to like? It's as if someone transplanted an upscale Barcelona tapas bar and restaurant to the north side of Naples. From the moment the hostess opened the front door for us to the time she wished us a pleasant evening... we HAD a pleasant evening. Our server made certain that we understood the choices, the kitchen timed the tapas courses just right, and the entire staff was intent on us having a good time. Each dish seemed to reflect the idea that we "dine first with our eyes" in that the preparations were visually entrancing; but we dug in anyhow. Here's a restaurant to visit with friends who like to share."

  • "Great food in a modern sleek setting, service was amazing (thank you Michael!). We went with two other couples and ordered a whole bunch of everything, shared it all, had a great night. Of particular deliciousness: Foie gras was so good we ordered another but didnt give any to the men; crab cakes; beef short ribs; a mushroom special. And we had the red sangria and loved it. It was a bit noisy but I cant imagine it being quieter and have such a fun vibe."

  • "My wife and I are very familiar with Spanish cuisine and were excited to try Lamoraga. The space itself is of that clean, modern design. As a result of that design, it's biggest challenge will be bringing down the noise level. I'm sure they're aware and hope they find a solution. The food: authentic, well prepared and excellent. We had only small plates and all were good. The portions were larger than we are used to getting in tapas, but an easy solution is ordering 1 fewer plate. Overall- we will return it is a welcomed addition to Naples."

  • "We've greatly enjoyed our multiple dinners at Lamoraga. The food on this past visit was not up to what we know is possible. It was very bland and the sashimi tasted fishy."

  • "Have come to Naples every July for the last 6 years it was great to see a new Restaurant this year. Booking was easy online , the room was bright crisp and modern and the atmosphere even early in the evening was great. The service was excellent . Our food was lovely particularly the Beef short ribs and the coconut infused bread and butter pudding. We will be back."

  • "This is the 3 times in 3 weeks we've eaten here. The food is always terrific and having spent a week in Barcelona in June I would say it's very authentic. Wife and I shared all the our food with our friends and it was perfect. Will return soon. I'm sure it will be packed in season."

  • "We love everything about this place! Cravings start here. You won't be able to stop thinking about how good the food (and service) is (are) and when can you return??!?"

  • "Great service, fabulous room, food had super taste. Chicken a tad overdone but flavor great. Would def go back"

  • "My husband and I enjoyed lunch so decided to bring another couple with us for dinner. Small plates; eggplant, lamb skewers and calamari excellent choices. The sides of spinach and mushrooms are great choices. The men ordered a filet and strip; the strip was not cooked medium rare as requested so the kitchen sent out another and it was excellent. We did make a point with the owner about the noise level, which she said is being addressed. There was a group in the bar that night who were exceptionally boisterous, which carries through to the dining room and affects the overall experience. If they can correct this one issue it is a great menu whether you want a full entree or a couple of appetizers, which are great to share and sample."

  • "I like the small portions. You can order a lot of different things and make a meal of them. Everyone at the table can sample all of the dishes. Good idea!"

  • "I had been hearing great reviews of Lamoraga from friends, and they were right! The food was fantastic, and we orderd several small plates to share among our party. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Just too loud, hard to carry on a conversation without almost yelling. I am sure the younger generation like it and will be repeat customers. We ate at a similar restaurant in DC and liked it but this was quite different i.e. portions were easily shared. I wish the owners well but just not my choice for dinner."

  • "once again we enjoyed outstanding food and service..in a beautiful setting..we have been here a number of times..and find different tapas each time..the calamari is still the best anywhere...the tomato salad is..amazing...the Server was so knowledgeable..on the drinks ..food..and even the one quest with an allergy..I suggest everyone try this wonderful restaurant"

  • "Tapas tasted terrific. Service was wonderful. Architecture was open, airy, trendy, young, alive, and busy reminding us New York, Tokyo, Sao Paulo. Unfortunately, the acoustics are horrendous. If they fix this fast they will become on of Naples top hot spots. If they don't they will flame out."

  • "We loved our meal there. Short ribs were the best. Great wine list. Service was wonderful!"

  • "Great menu with many various choices. Our first time and looking forward to trying more things next time. Everything we tried was excellent."

  • "The very modern extra large eating area looked like a fancy cafeteria. Mostly glass and steel proved too many hard services for noise control and glare. The food was delicious, served beautifully and quickly. We two shared 5 tapas plus dessert and were very filled at a good price. The individual eating bars are a nice idea and should we try again, would like to sit there "away from the madding crowd""

  • "The exterior of the building looks like a car dealership but the interior is a delightful and sophisticated architectual surprise. Our waiter Donna was delightful and informative and the food simply delicious."

  • "Had another great meal at Lamoraga! LOVE to eat at the bar there! Had Serrano ham and melon salad, delicious garlic shrimp, the slider combo, and the fig tart for dessert! LOVE the menuu, the staff and the restauarant!!"

  • "Dining room Saturday night was super noisey:could not carry on conversation. Noise got very annoying. Entrees came out at different times-executive chef is not paying attention:kitchen was not that busy at 8:30PM."

  • "Loved the food, the atmosphere, the drinks and the service. It's very refreshing to get great food that's a little bit outside the box for reasonable prices. If you like tapas, go no further and tell your friends. We want more places like this and no more Italian restaurants!"

  • "It was my girlfriends birthday and I wrote that I would like a table for two in a nice location. We were placed beside 2 tables that were 5 or more people. Then it took 15 minutes to get acknowledged by a server. The place is beautiful but for the money you spend you think they'd take better care of you. I was completely disappointed, especially because it was a special occasion."

  • "Beautiful new modern edgy looking restaurant in Naples... great food choices with interesting twists... from tapas to entrees, we enjoyed everything we ate and despite taking home some of our dinner, still everyone ordered desert, which was also terrific... great place. Our server also seemed to enjoy working there and was very helpful and attentive even though the place was hopping. I'll definitely be going back!"

  • "We were pleasantly surprised as to the overall experience and the food was great!"

  • "The food was good. The lamb was the best. The artisanal cheese platter could have done without the nuts and blue cheese and actually more cheese would have been nice. Quince was a nice touch... The only complaint was the waiter, Adonis did not know how to take money and deduct it from the bill. He took one of our gals 50.00 dollar bill as a tip and did not tell the other 3 of us and instead of deducting it from the total he then split the original bill into 3 and we each tipped him as well so he made double the tip totaling 104.00 which we did not realize till the next day. wow he must have been happy."

  • "It was bread dinner, my steak was over cooked, they took care of it promptly"

  • "Architecturally impressive, this restaurant has a great "European-vibe." The tapas menu is extensive and on the night we visited featured an Octopus item. Noise level unfortunately is way to high (a result of high ceilings and hard interior finishes). We were told that management recognizes the problem and that it will be addressed during the "off" (summer) season. We will revisit in the fall."

  • "We have now been here three times and tried several different things with family/friends. We haven't been disappointed with anything we have had. It's fun to try the tapas and then have entrees family style to share. Service is helpful and friendly. We look forward to returning."

  • "This Spanish tapas restaurant hits high notes for its sleek look and interior design. The Friday night we were there, the bar was lively and fun. Our dinner tapas picks were ok, some hitting the mark, others rather ordinary. It will take a little experimenting the find the right combinations, but isn't that part of the fun. This isn't tapas as you'll find in Spain, a bit of a hybrid, even including sliders! But, it's about the scene. Go experience."

  • "A terrific new restaurant that has really good food, expansive menu, and a decent wine list. The acoustics still need to be corrected but a very enjoyable restaurant."

  • "Had a wonderful dinner if small plates--pork tenderloin stuffed with ham and sun-dried tomatoes, Serrano ham and cantaloupe salad, pot of crimini mushrooms, steak tartar, calamari, and fig tart for dessert! Great wine and draft beer! Wonderful service from Christine at the bar!! LOVE this place! Will go back again and again!!"

  • "Great food and decor. No thought at all given to sound absorption. All hard surfaces make this restaurant sound like a school cafeteria. "
    Dined on 5/31/2014
  • "The venue is impressive. Beautiful building, furnishings, etc. Unfortunately the food was uneven in quality, although well presented. Most importantly, never did the server offer us new plates, as is customary with tapas dining. She also was completely unable to pronounce any menu items in Spanish. More training in that regard is needed."

  • "Food overall was great, my egg plant was very bitter, and the beef tartar was grisly and very small. Was not like last time I had it"

  • "1. We were subjected to an up-sell reminiscent of TGI Friday's upon placing our drink order. 2. appetizers sound delicious, but disappoint. Bacalao fritters - severely undercooked in the middle & no trace of bacalao to be found. The "different" aiolis served w/apps tasted identically bland (no trace of the promised yuzu, either). 3. "EGGPLANT LAMORAGA" was inedible (would love to post a photo). $12 & not removed from our bill although we advised that it was inedible. 4. Service was pushy & sloppy (waiter literally spilled wine on our table while refilling & trendy plastic bag "wine chiller" leaked everywhere). 5. Water glasses refilled by a dude w/prison tats on his knuckles - not appetizing 6. Noise level prevented dinner conversation"
