A word from La Boheme
The "New American" style of new Executive Chef, Paul Kimura, puts a new spin on traditional American fare with Mediterranean influences. Indulgent favorites include a sublime Lobster Risotto, juicy Flat Iron Steak and savory Short Rib Pappardelle. But save room for the sinful Chocolate Valrhona Cake. For a more casual affair the sexy bar lounge offers its own menu of treats (Chardonnay Steamed Mussels with house-made Brioche are a favorite). Semi-private booths downstairs and rock star booths upstairs are surrounded by stunning views of crystal chandeliers and a glowing fireplace. Arguably one of the most romantic spots in L.A., the garden patio boasts a fireplace of its own beautifully framed by roses and greenery...a definite al fresco paradise. Expect a warm welcome, impeccable service, unparalleled cuisine, and chic crowd at this prime destination. Prepare to stimulate all of your senses at La Boheme. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Excellent experience in every way. La Bohème is super sexy and chic while maintaining a warmth to the atmosphere. The food is excellent and we loved the fact that they did not 'over size' the portions! The wait staff was very friendly and accomadating. Highly recommend La Bohème for a romantic dinner, celebration, happy hour or for groups."

  • "We have dined many times at La Boheme. We were greeted by the pleasant hostess, she offered us a table in the bar to begin, it was full accept for the one free table - nice mix of people. After a drink she went ahead and seated us in the main dining area. Our waiter was spot on and the food he suggested was great. We will be back!"

  • "I have always wanted to dine here and recently had the opportunity. I really enjoyed the food--it was extremely flavorful and fresh. Surprisingly, the portion sizes were adequate as well. I enjoyed a full course meal and every course was excellently prepared. I think the restaurant is definitely more conducive to an intimate setting although there were a group of business men at a table next to me. I would definitely recommend the place for a romantic dinner and, in fact, intend to have my dad and his girlfriend celebrate his upcoming birthday here. I am sure he will enjoy it just as much as I did, especially if they are blessed to have Mark as a waiter!"

  • "If you want to make a special impression on someone...anyone.....first date to 50th Anniversary, transport them to the most welcoming and ooolala romantic spot in LA (Il Cielo excluded) La Boheme!"

  • "Will definitely come back. Friendly staff, sexy atmosphere and good food!"

  • "A nearly perfect birthday celebration: lovely room (as always), exquisite food (as always), fantastic service (for a change) and beautiful coordination between the kitchen and the serving staff (at last). Mark (Marc?), our waiter, was welcoming, very professional, exceedingly knowledgeable about the menu items and very helpful in guiding us to amazing choices. There was even a delicious birthday dessert, on the house, from the manager, Lawrence. The only tiny glitch in the evening came after dessert, when the room had become noticeably busier and the delays and confusion amongst the staff (which had kept us from returning more often) started unraveling the bliss. This, however, was a very minor flaw in an otherwise lovely evening."

  • "The place is truly enchanting with its lovely chandeliers. We did sit in a nice booth and had very good food. The beet salad I ordered included excellent beets and the best carrots I have EVER tasted. Although the restaurant was not very busy the service was a bit slow, which is understandable with only one server to be seen and one bus boy. But we counted at least 3 young ladies (excluding the hostess), that were not doing much else than walk around looking beautiful. Felt bad for the hard working guys."

  • "La Boheme comes through once again! We were celebrating our anniversary and everything was wonderful from start to finish. Professional and friendly staff from the hostess to the bartender to the waiter. We had a drink and apps in the bar first - the food was outstanding and the bartender was great. Then we retreated to a cozy booth for dinner - I had the scallops, which were amazing and my honey had the lobster risotto, also delicious. But beyond the food, the atmosphere there is really special. Finally, a restaurant in L.A. has found a way to make their guests comfortable without blasting cold arctic air on them. The doors were all open to the outside and a big fire was going - it felt very intimate. And a candle in our dessert -special!"

  • "I've been here twice in the last few months and love it. It's a beautiful intimate setting and a great place to spend time with friends or a loved one, especially if you want to be able to converse with the person you are with. As soon as we sat down the Manager came over and welcomed us, which is always a nice touch and based on dining experiences in Los Angeles, you don't get much of that anymore. They have many options for a full dining experience to sitting in the lounge with a bar menu. Nice attentive staff, great food and an overall beautiful evening."

  • "When I made the reservation, I stated it was a birthday dinner. Upon our arrival, the hostess greeted us and said .oh, it's a birthday celebration...we were seated, the manager, Lawerence, came over to the table, introduced himself and was told it was my friends birthday. The, the server, Mark, came ove, and was told it was a birthday dinner....people at the next table received a dessert with a candle, the booth next to us were celebrating they're anniversary and received a dessert with a candle....we, after EVERONE was aware that it was a birthday celebration, said and did nothing.needless to say how my friend, the celebrant...felt! Then, we asked for bread 5 times..finally got it and also asked for a drink...4 times.. this is unforgivable."

  • "My experience was great, althought there were a few things that could have been better. When I arrived, it was still fairly light outside, but as it start to darken outside, someone turned the lights inside the restaurant to bright, so the romantic, cozy feel of dim lights while enjoying dinner went away. Also I ordered a steak, prepared well-done, and my wonderful waiter advised that the chef would butterfly it, to ensure it was well-done and the moistured stayed in, but when the plate was delivered, the steak was not butterflied and it was not well-done as I requested. I did not comment to the waiter or send the item back, I wanted to continue to enjoy the occasion I was there for."

  • "We came for the Living social special - which was great and we'll be back. Also didn't realize they have $1 oysters, so will be returning for happy hour at the bar.Our waiter (Mark II believe) was one of the most knowledgeable and friendly staff I have encountered anywhere in a very long time."

  • "We liked the patio atmosphere. Very romantic, has a cute fireplace with little wall fountains and French soft music. Food was great, but not outstanding. Our waiter was ok, however our HELPER was outstanding!!! He was fast and top of everything!"

  • "The food was very good and the waitress was especially nice. The cheese board was disappointing because it offered the same flavor profile. When offering a cheese board it is nice to have 3 different types so you can get the different tastes with the wine in your mouth. All but one of the cheese was cheap and different offer that different note. Otherwise, I ordered a cocktail which was tasty and had a nice glass of wine. Although I felt a little cheated because whoever poured my glass of wine barely poured 4 ounces, when you pay $14 for a glass of wine you expect an accurate pour. We ordered the special which was a flat iron steak with a bacon mashed potato and a port wine sauce and it was very very tasty!"

  • "The service was really good, the manager even introduced himself and made sure we were good. I had the lamb with a Pinot and it was amazing. The meat literally fell off the bone that I didn't need my knife. The food was superb. I will definitely be back soon."

  • "We came here for the Valentine's Day prefix course special. We usually eat out in Orange County but wanted to do something special and different for Valentine's so decided to take a trip to LA. :) Water and breads were provided as soon as we were seated. Service was impeccable. Fast forward to the food. Highlights...Lobster salad was delicious. Filet was good, but not excellent. Dessert was very good as well. Total came out to $210 not including gratuity for two. I would give the food quality 9/10. Service 10/10. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. For me service is everything and she was the epitome of excellent service."

  • "Beautiful restaurant with wonderfully attentive staff. This place is unique and very romantic. A bit on the gothic side, but this is West Hollywood. Both my husband and I found our main courses to be over-salted. He had salmon, and I the risotto. Our dessert was yummy - butterscotch pudding with dark chocolate inside the parfait. If there were half stars I'd rate them 4.5, but since this is not an option I give in to the atmosphere and service quality."

  • "We had no idea what we were getting into.. My boyfriend and I drive by La Boheme often. I wanted to go ever since we drove by during the holidays and it was ornately decorated and iseemed so inviting . We had never pulled the trigger so I finally made reservations via open table. We went on Friday and the restaurant was more beautiful than imagined. Really portrayed the French ambiance it really set a romantic mood. tables are spaced so you're not over strangers forced to listen to them speak. We truly felt like we were alone there, seated next to an 8ft fire place. service was spectacular, wine was perfectly delicious, and food was cooked to brilliance. I recommend this place for anyone looking for something worth while. we will be back"

  • "The place is in West Hollywood, very beautiful facade, low lighting, very intimate setting inside and out. The food was delicious. I recommend the braised lamb! Service was perfect. Owner even came out to greet us and make sure we were being taken care of. Overall, I love it."

  • "My spouse and I went there for an early Valentine's dinner. Service was great as always. Ambience exceptional. The food was tasty. Only criticism would be the portion sizes were small. For the money we didn't feel we got what we paid for. Beyond that the evening was exactly what we were hoping for."

  • "On a Thursday night it took 40 minutes to get anything but water. Bread, then 50 minutes in our first drink order, almost an hour the 1st appetizer. Nothing can ruin a nice dinner than that kind of start."

  • "The restaurant setting is impressive with crystal chandeliers and a huge working fireplace yet it has cozy booths for a more private option. There's a lovely patio area as well. Service was excellent, the staff were attentive and the manager constantly circulated, engaged in friendly chatter, and showed sincere interest in customer feedback. The food for dineLA menu was good and enjoyable but did not leave a lingering savory impression. The wine flight option for this menu was very reasonably priced and generous in portions. It was altogether a good dining experience and certainly worth another trip back for sampling of other items on the regular menu. The happy hour scene was lively and definitely needs to be tried out."

  • "Went here with a friend during restaurant week to take advantage of the 3 course meal for $35. It was a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was empty, which was a little troublesome at first but didn't end up meaning anything. The food was excellent although the beef I had seemed overcooked. Wine list is reasonable and has a fairly varied mix of inexpensive and expensive bottles. The booths are nice and private and have mesh curtains that can be closed if you want a slight more private experience. Probably won't make it a part of my regular restaurant rotation, but may go back again."

  • "We went to Malo on a Saturday night. We had the yellowtail crude for an appetizer, the apple/kale salad, the lobster risotto, and the Arctic Char. Dessert was the warm chocolate cake. All the food was really tasty. The yellowtail crude was very fresh and delicious. The lobster risotto was wonderful, not too heavy and full of flavor. The service was great, the decor was romantic and beautiful. Good date restaurant. I definitely recommend!"
