A word from Ka'ana Kitchen at Andaz Maui
What we serve at Ka‘ana, we serve from the heart. We source from local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen. We only put on your plate what we feel is proper to serve. Our pairings speak to the ability to connect the elements of taste, smell, and touch with everything around us.
Our dishes are prepared using techniques from around the culinary world, but thought-out in accordance with our micro-climate. The way we prepare our fish, season our salads, and grill our meat depends not only on its origin, but what the weather tells us, how the swells on the ocean shape our mood, and how the land influences our feelings.
Here we hope to blur the lines between your kitchen and our restaurant, between what is external and what is internal. We invite you in, share our hopes, and create a unique dining experience that connects you to this place and its essence.

  • "It has been nearly a year since we last ate at Ka'ana Kitchen and we were so excited to go again. Love the menu concept and knowing which farm procured our food. Our waiter, John, was excellent at explaining everything to us and making recommendations. We ended up getting a bunch of small plates and one larger and sharing (4 adults) and everything came out for us in a manner that we could carry conversation, enjoy the food, and the atmosphere. The food is absolutely amazing. This restaurant has become the must recommend place when my clients ask me what restaurants they can't miss."

  • "My husband and I tried Ka'ana Kitchen for the first time. Had heard great things about it from friends and had experienced a sampler of the chef's dishes at an outside event. We were NOT disappointed. Had lots of fun and enjoyed watermelon salads, two appetizer sized items, a risotto and a fish entree, which we shared. My husband was impressed by the martinis and the wine. We had a decadent chocolate dessert with house made ice cream. Yum. Waitress was fun and experienced....set up our courses just right. Recommend coming before sunset so you can see the Andaz hotel in daylight and at night, when the lighting changes the whole place."

  • "Loved the grilled Tako. Tender and delicious... Ahi salad also superb. The risotto and the kobe rib eye were salty and not very appealing overall. Service was a bit rushed, given the view and ambiance would have enjoyed a slightly slower pace."

  • "Wins my vote for best restaurant in Maui. Top notch service and amazing food."

  • "If you don't care at all about prices this place is for you. Food was very good, but cost is out of line for what you get. I realize all of the factors that make it expensive but it steps into gouge territory. $5 per bite, yes mouthful bite, for some items. The flavors are great and the desserts are wonderful but no one likes to leave with a bitter taste"

  • "Great Farm to Fork experience in Maui where most of the restaurants try to adapt to European/American standards ... Great open kitchen concept where you can even talk to the chefs and definitively enjoy a nice wine. The restaurant has received multiple awards - definitively a must try!"

  • "Our dinner at Ka'ana Kitchen was outstanding! The menu was carefully conceived and the food reflected that. Highly flavorful, beautifully artistic in presentation and an overall sensory experience. If you enjoy good food, you must go!"

  • "Lobster ceviche was probably the best thing I ever ate. We went here twice and did not have anything that wasn't amazing."

  • "Had the buffet breakfast / brunch here daily. Absolutely flawless. Is expensive, but worth every cent. The available hot food changes daily (the chocolate and banana pancakes were a favourite). Also had dinner here twice. All dishes were amazing excluding, the fried chicken with waffles, relatively flavorless, but chicken at a restaurant is notoriously difficult to perfect. For desert the coconut ice-cream dish was so moreish and beneath the beautiful coconut ice-cream spheres were three delicate lamingtons (an Australasian favourite). The executive chef, a New Zealander, came out and had a chat with us as we informed our waiter my boyfriend was a Kiwi. Absolutely lovely guy."

  • "If you are a foodie, you will love this, portions are a great size to enjoy a number of flavors and unique dishes. The food is super clean and makes you feel good about what you are eating. Thus is must restaurant when in Maui."

  • "The seating for dinner was predetermined so they would not allow us to move to another table. The menu isn't flexible. My lobster dish was excellent but my husband's tofu steak was average. Breakfast is excellent but $45 for the buffet. Worth it in my opinion."

  • "Beat our expectations by a mile. Food, service, service (I repeat myself) -- we were impressed."

  • "View is Great and hotel is gorgeous but menu super limited and not much variety yet"

  • "We had the opportunity to eat at the chef's table. Great experience! Was treated to a very special meal with great service. Both Isaac and Brent were very cordial and attentive. A great evening."

  • "Our outdoor table had a beautiful view of the ocean and sunset. We were presented with the menus that were arranged by "food source "rather than a more traditional type menu. I found it hard to follow and I was surprised that there was no type of white fish on the menu. Also, this restaurant seemed more expensive than comparable restaurants in the Wailea area. With this said, our food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful."

  • "Ka'ana Kitchen lived up to the excellent reviews. Outstanding array of flavors in each dish. Two of us shared 3 small plates. Despite not being a huge amount of food, the high quality ingredients and combination of flavors left us satisfied. The chocolate torte dessert was perfect for anyone who loves rich chocolate flavor without being too heavy. Service fantastic - attentive without hovering. Didn't go for breakfast but heard from another Andaz guest - it was the best breakfast he has ever eaten."

  • "Chicken dish is great as is the rib eye. We shared Lobster cerviche and pork belly starters. Both very good. Lex was our server and was terrific."

  • "We booked dinner for our family here, we were staying next door at Waikea Elua, so a nice 5 minute walk. Reviews were great, so expectations were high! It met or exceeded expectations! The ambience (cool modern), and wait staff (knowledgeable and enthusiastic) were great! But the menu was beyond great! It was so hard to choose, everything sounded delicious! The abalone risotto with onsen egg was a highlight. Also, the lobster and kakuni dish, the rib eye cap, the salads, everything was so fresh and well prepared! We went towards the end of our trip, so not enough time to go back. Can't wait until next time!"

  • "Went 3 times on a 10 day trip...stumbled upon the chefs table and had the 6 course meal...savored all the bites!"

  • "Local food and preparation simply outstanding. As was the service."

  • "Interesting concept. Menu is not layed out in the the traditional pupus, salads and entrees list. The menu offers a list of dishes to choose from, giving the diner the option of having them for appetizer or entree. My husband and I ordered 3 dishes and shared them all. The coconut cream pie was divine!"

  • "Fantasic meal. Great, knowledgeable servers. Really cool kitchen concept in which some of the cooks/chefs bring you courses. Locally sourced ingredients. One of the 3 best restaurants in the Wailea area."
    Dined on 7/7/2014
  • "Everything we ordered was so good and unique! The octopus, chicken and ahi were my favorites. It was the best meal we had in Maui (over spago and ferraros). The specialty cocktail menu could use a little work but if you ask them to make you something off the menu they will."
    Dined on 7/4/2014
  • "Interesting menu and well prepared food...but you have to get the right table. We were banished to an outside table back by the stairs. It made for great people watching, but diminished the sense of being in the restaurant and it minimized the view."
    Dined on 7/4/2014
  • "Don't let them seat you at the bar, which is right at the Entry, unless you like perky bartenders, watching the kitchen and a lot of foot traffic.. No ocean view from there! The food and cocktails are still highly recommended."

  • "Maybe the best meal this year - Unique menu, high quality service, food to stimulate the palate - all priceless --- not priceless but pricey but worth it"
    Dined on 6/30/2014
  • "We were a party of 6 and at $46 per person brunch price, made it one of our more expensive meals in Hawaii....but, the food was excellent and the open kitchen experience was memorable. Custom-made omeletes, delicious bacon, waffles, pancakes, stuffed french toast, muffins and pastries, gorgeous fruit, fresh fruit smoothies and juices. I asked for eggs benedict with ham and avocado and it was brought out special from the kitchen, all included with the brunch price. Gorgeous views and a beautiful property. We would definitely return."

  • "I have enjoyed brunch here a number of times, so when a friend came to visit, we added it to our "must go to" list, and we went to celebrate my birthday. We were not disappointed. My friend's kids have multiple dietary restrictions, and you were able to exceed their expectations when it came to options for them. The food was amazing as always, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Chef even brought out a special birthday surprise for me, and everyone wished me a very warm happy birthday! The only reason the service didn't get 5 stars is that our table was not bussed once in the entire 2 hours we were there. By the time we left, we had a huge stack of plates and no room left on the table. But other than that, everything was wonderful!"

  • "We recently dined at Ka'Ana Kitchen and were impressed with the food and ambiance. Our server Jim was outstanding. His recommendations for wine, meals and accommodating our "hungry" kids deserves recognition. The chef came by our table twice and checked on us. We loved our dinner and will be making Ka'ana Kitchen one of our favorite dining destinations."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "The service and location was outstanding, but the prices and portions were grossly outrageous! The coconut sundae was the highlight. A party of four and a $500 tab was ridiculous. Yes, this is hawaii, but there is no excuse for this price gauging. Overhyped, overpriced, spend your $ elsewhere!"
    Dined on 6/25/2014
  • "If you want to have a special meal while on Maui, make sure to try Ka'ana Kitchen! It has great indoor or outdoor seating the the best service, with locally sourced foods, including vegetarian. You can even watch the chefs cook your meal in the very open kitchen."

  • "We love this place! Second time in a month we have dinned here and not disappointed in the least. Our server was Kim and she was great. Very professional, great wine knowledge and friendly. If you are dining as a couple, you definitely have to dine at the open kitchen counter.... very entertaining and worth the loss of ocean view! You must eat here... no place like it on all of Maui."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "We ate very well on our recent trip, but this meal was by far our favorite. The rib eye was the tastiest steak I've ever had. The kids gobbled that up along with all the veggies on their plates. Great food, service and ambience."
    Dined on 6/17/2014
  • "This restaurant is all very nice and good. I planned to treat my friends to a nice, final breakfast experience on Maui. The problem really was that we are all fairly frugal people, so they were stunned by the prices, and shy to try the buffet on my dime. Not being foodies, they weren't terribly impressed by the "open kitchen" buffet layout. I think they're more used to the extravagant layout of everything under the sun that we had at the Grand Wailea previously. Anyway, the whole thing felt a bit awkward."
    Dined on 6/11/2014
  • "A food allergy almost ended our reservation. When we said we would just order drinks all of the sudden the "kitchen figured it out" said the server. At the prices they charge, they should do anything to accommodate a guest. We ended up ordering the Ahi salad, Lobster and Prime Rib. We asked the server to wait 15 minutes before she put in our dessert order, but apparently that was also too difficult for her...8 minutes later the desserts arrived. You know, I don't want to be rushed through a $200 dinner. So, management, please step in and fix this. Our experience was all too disappointing. Our server was an over-the-top character (from MN - she told each and every table)."

  • "We had dinner at the Chef's Table in the open plan kitchen and it was fun to watch the kitchen at work. The staff was very friendly and attentive. But the highlight was, of course, the food - simply fantastic, nothing more needs to be said. Oh - other than the wine pairings were some of the best I have had. We also had 3 breakfasts - again the food was great and well worth the price. Yes the place is expensive but in our opinion worth every penny."

  • "The design is very contemporary with different food stations where various foods are prepared. We had brunch on Sunday. It was THE best brunch we've had. The selection of fruits and breads was expansive. Great omelets, French toast and pancakes. Multiple juices with a mixologist to custom-blend for you. The bacon was incredible. It's pricy at $45 but worth it."

  • "Great view, service, and phenomenal food! We were staying at the Andaz, which is our new favorite resort in Wailea. Unusual pairings of food, each dish is better than the last! We will definitely be staying at the Andaz again and visit this wonderful restaurant again!"

  • "The food was good but the selection was limited if you didn't want to order tapas sized plates. Of course, this place is catered to tourist so the prices are a bit high. Also, I thought the dishes were small. It's good but if I could I would prefer to eat outside the hotel where I would feel its better value."
