A word from Johnny Cascone's
We respect our roots. Customers enjoy classic dishes and attentive service in a comfortable space with modern décor. Adaptation is also important. Cascone family members young and old pay attention to contemporary tastes and participate in discussions to balance the restaurant's traditions with fresh ideas.

Dining at any of our restaurants is a homecoming of sorts where guests can relax, enjoy each other's company, and celebrate life's big moments and small rituals. That communal approach is an extension of what we value as a business; tradition matters; family is important; serve your community.

  • "It is always a pleasure to dine at Johnny Cascone's. "

  • "It may be a little outdated, but the food is amazing. Everything is made fresh in house ,and you can tell. The service was also superb. "

  • "There is a family charm to this restaurant. From the greeter to the waiter/waitress to the manager walking the floor, you feel welcome. My family and I have been enjoying Cascone's for many years when we moved to Overland Park. Be sure to bring an apetite, you will not walk away hungry."

  • "The food was fabulous and the gentleman who showed us to our table was a treat. While it seemed very nice overall, our server seemed overwhelmed and behind most of the time. When our group of 6 was served, one person was left with no meal for sometime. Seems they forgot to make it. When asked for extra bread, it was served with the bill. Would we visit again...maybe."

  • "We took our 7-week old son to Cascone's and were treated like family. We go often but not enough to be considered regulars. When we brought our son, the staff went over the top to make sure we had everything we needed. It is a great restaurant with a nice staff."

  • "My husband made reservations for a Valentine's dinner. When we walked in, the atmosphere was very nice. Staff was friendly, live saxophone music playing in the background, etc. But then they sat us in the banquet room, away from the music, on a makeshift plywood table that was covered with a table cloth. They had obviously taken more reservations than what they could actually hold, which ruined the experience for us. The food was ok, not spectacular. Since we were seated in the banquet room, our waitress was running all the way through the restaurant to get the drinks from the bar. This made service rather slow and she was frustrated. If we go back again, it will certainly not be for Valentine's day!"

They fell in love with the restaurant from the family like friendly greeting upon arrival through the awesome food and excellent service.they were all still talking about how great dinner was the next day at our meetings. Thank you. I'm a regular, but, you. Never know when glitches can occur. This wks was flawless and greatly appreciated afterl a VERY long day on our feet exhibiting at a trade snow. Thank you!"

  • "Got dumped right before my reservation. Thanks for reminding me Open Table!"

  • "The restaurant was very dirty. The bread that was brought out could best be described as Wonderbread with sesame seeds. Minestrone soup was made with frozen vegetables and was served room temperature. The house salad was so full of red onions that my wife couldn't eat it. The food came out not garnished and did not look appetizing. My wife had the lasagna which was smothered in a very bland tomato sauce. I got a sampler with lasagna, chicken parmesan, and fettucine alfredo. The lasagna was not good, the chicken was lacking seasoning as well as the alfredo. The alfredo tasted like cream without any parmesan or garlic. My wife ordered wine and the wrong wine came out in a champagne glass. There's a lot more but I'm out of space."

  • "A packed house at 5:30, even on Valentine's evening, bodes well. The old-school atmosphere is always inviting and the food never fails to please with the consistency and flavor. Appreciated the jazz trio playing adding to the ambience."

  • "I was really looking forward to eating here and when my plate came out, there was so much sauce that I couldn't see the chicken or pasta. I had to scrape sauce off to taste the food."

  • "Seating with reservation was quick and when I asked for a different table staff jumped to accommodate. Food was delicious, service was great and the entertainment that we were lucky enough to be seated next to interacted with us which made for a fun time. We went on a Saturday night and it was very crowded but other than noise level it wasn't an issue. Waitress did great and noticed we were there for a bday and brought a huge complimentary desert. And did I say the food was delicious? Best marinara I have had in KC yet. We will definitely return even though price puts it into the special event/date night category, but worth it."

  • "We came to KC for a special evening. We were planning for eating Italian food. We looked at several restaurants but wanted to eat in Overland Park...it was amazing from the moment we entered the restaurant...seated by Mr. Johnny , great menu/prices , and the service was over the top....head here instead of Olive Garden....you won't be disappointed."

  • "What can you say about "Cascone's" that has't already been positively said! Here is a Italian Restaurant that you can count on for the fine dining, always the Great Sauce & service. Our family had reservations, we made online with one request to be seated close to the Piano. We were very pleased with our whole experience at Cascone's."

  • "Our family traditionally goes to Johnny Cascone's on Xmas Eve. I would have rated everything 5 stars except for the fact that we had a 6:00 reservation but we weren't seated until 6:45. Such is life on a busy holiday, but I'm not sure that it would have been much faster to just walk in. Other than that, the service was excellent and the food was great as usual. :)"

  • "Not only is the food outstanding, but the service is excellent and the ambiance is inviting and romantic. Our family dined at Johnny Cascone's for our Christmas dinner. We love hearing Frank Sinatra playing in the background, and then the little live band playing while dining. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed."

  • "We always enjoy eating at Cascone's, and have eaten there a number of times. We were seated next to where live music was to be performed, and were concerned that it would be too loud when they started playing. However, we were pleasantly surprised, as the music was just the right loudness, which allowed us to continue our conversations in a normal manner. We very much enjoyed the music and the food."

  • "Just not up to what we expected...or the pricing. Service was slow and irritating. Décor was very dated with vinyl table coverings and worn wood surfaces. Food was edible, but not very good. Red sauce tasted like Ragu. Alfredo sauce was so thick and heavy it was almost syrupy. And I am not used to having to cut lasagna with a knife."

  • "I recently dined at Johnny Cascone's with a group of friends. The food was delicious. Everything from the bread service with dipping oil, dinner, and the BEST lemon cake we've ever had. Cascone's red sauce is one of the few I like. The salad and all entrees were delicious. The servings are generous, enough for lunch the next day. Our server, Stacy, was great. The only negative is they ran out of mashed potatoes that one of our group was really looking forward to. She says they have the best...hard to believe for an Italian restaurant, but it must be true since there were none left. Whether a special occasion or just dining with family or friends, I'd highly recommend Johnny Cascone's."

  • "The food here is so much better than anything you'll find at a chain! Live music on saturday night was a nice touch, great background without being overbearing(loud). We went during the peak dinner time, expect a little bit of a wait for your order but it's totally worth it when you take your first bite. You can tell they take pride in the what they serve. We'll definitely be back! Also, there's a little old guy that's a host there(family-owned joint). He's pretty awesome to say the least, certainly adds to the experience."

  • "Over the last six months my wife and I have dined at Cascones at least once a month. Each time the food has been good, service excellent, and the ambience pleasant. On 11/23 we ate there and was big time disappointed. I had veal parm and the veal tasted like overcooked shoe leather. The sauce tasted like warmed up ketchup. My wife had ravioli with sausage. The sausage was overcooked and again the sauce was terrible. The noise level was unbearable. A couple of tables had little ones who screamed. The service was the worst that I have ever experienced. The waiter took our order and the food was dropped in front of us. No one asked if everything was ok, if we wanted more bread, or a refill on soft drinks. Not a pleasant experience."

  • "You can tell these people take the time to make the food that people want to eat. From the Italian food to the liver and onions to the fried chicken, it is comfort food at it's best!"

  • "The Italian food here is so delicious, no matter which dishes you order, but, that's certainly not where it ends. The liver and onions is amazing as is the a Tuesday fried chicken. Can't think of a miss. They hit it out out of the park every time! Not to mention the value, especially the early dinner menu. You've got it so right; don't change a thing."

  • "We fell in love with Johnny Cascones the minute we met Vito the Maitre di. This place has all the charm you'd hope for in an Italian restaurant experience! Such a welcoming atmosphere... warmth.. life... You felt they were ready to do anything to make your dining experience "great". Live music on Friday night only adds to the chemistry. The lemon cake was absolutely dreamy.."

  • "The Crazy Alfredo and the Sausage and potatoes both were very good and, being more food than two could possibly eat, served us for an additional big meal the next day. My wife is trying to figure out whether they make their own sausage or purchase it, but is tastes wonderful and has little of the hard pieces that most grocery sausage has. The food represents the kind of comfort food you get at a much more expensive restaurant and is consumed with delightful live music in the background."
