  • "You can't really argue with dinner in paradise... Hawaii Calls is in our hotel and we finally came for dinner after exploring the local area spots. It was great! Delicious scallop appetizer, and a lovely meal overall. The banana cream pie was an excellent dessert. Mahalo!"

  • "Food was great, nice view of the pool and we got to see the sunset. Restaurant was busy so the service was really slow. Our server rarely came around to check on us, refill our water or my iced tea. But overall cost of buffet is worth the food quality & ambiance. Would dine again."

  • "Breakfast and Lunch not bad here but dinner is passable to bad. To many better options across the street or at the Hilton."

  • "Of all the great restaurants on this island, this one is so-so. The food is mediocre and the service is slow. Our waiter made a great effort to be friendly, but he was forgetful and late in bringing coffee."

  • "This restaurant is at the Waikoloa Marriott on the Big Island. It has wonderful views and good food and service. There were several parties near us and live music but the overall ambiance and noise level was nice. Also has a very good breakfast/brunch. We would normally go out but were tired, and found the restaurant was quite a good choice!"

  • "We ate here for the $45 Prime rib and crab buffet. It was a good price for what you got. It's beautiful to look out and see the ocean and awesome pools."

  • "Decent buffet. Good crab legs and dessert bar. If your a Kamaaina be sure to get your discount."

  • "Enjoyed a delicious romantic dinner. Would definitely go back!"

  • "We stayed at the marriott for a few days, after attending a conference at the hilton which is down the street. The food at the marriott is great. Fabulous ahi tuna stack appetizer, great burgers, fish sandwiches! Ate poolside a few times too! They have 50 percent off entrees two nights per week along with other specials. We had rib eye steaks one night which were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Highly recommend. "

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our Prime Rib and Crab Dinner Buffet. The food was excellent. They were very prompt about reloading the various food items. The service was excellent. Our waitress (Remi) was extremely friendly and helpful. We always request her section."

  • "Outstanding food and service. Nice outdoor seating with view of shoreline. The seafood pasta and prime rib was excellent. Large menu that has many options."

  • "We had a small family-friend group including a three-year-old. The food was wonderful, many choices and several that were tempting to the child. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and we had a unhurried, somewhat noisy -- in thinking back--, Easter brunch. We are local, we have been to Hawaii Calls before, and we will again. "

  • "We are currently staying here at the Marriott Waikoloa. Have eaten breakfast at Hawaii Calls each morning, & dinner one evening so far. The staff is incredibly friendly, the food is delicious, & the view is spectacular! We look forward to enjoying the view of paradise each time we dine there. My husband & I are here alone, & it is very romantic. We have seen many others with kids, & it seems very accommodating for them & the staff is very good with them. We do not drink alcohol, but the bar seems lively. The music the night we dined was quite loud, but not bad, it also changes each night. The following night was Hawaiian music & was wonderful to listen to. We will definitely have dinner here another night this week. "

  • "Open air dining.Service staff outstanding.Make sure breakfast is included in stay package buffet @ $29each allows variety &fillup. easterners except those from Maine, don't be afraid of the kea hole lobster. not quite as sweet as Maine but more than an acceptable substitute, lobster ran $24 and each side another $4.Friday/Saturday buffet is a bit pricey at nearly $50 each unless you are like me and just cant get enough snow cab legs. considering everything has to be shipped in and it is located at a resort, prices were not that bad. half off night at Hawaii Calls and at the adjacent bar menu makes eating in more bearable for younger families not accustom to these prices and not having to eat at kings or queens market. • "Our family of four were staying on hotel and decided to dine on Monday night when entrees were 50% off. Food was great, and the sunset is so beautiful. However, without the 50% discount, the dinner would have been pretty expensive."

  • "Went here on day of arrival. Food and service were both very good. My husband had beef and I had fish. Neither one of us had a thing to complain about. It was a pleasure to eat at the hotel we were staying at and could relax, have a wonderful meal and not have to travel any further."

  • "Went there on Saturday night for the Prime rib and crab legs buffet. Made my reservation online and requested our preferred seating and noted we were Kamaaina. All of this was was already noted and known when we arrived. Food was great as was the service. Only thing we wished we had were the tiny forks used for eating lobster. They would have helped with the crab legs. Probably needed a net surrounding us as the crab meat would sometimes fly when breaking those tasty legs. Seating was spaced apart very nicely too. Will return as we had a great time."

  • "We had delicious onion soup with gruyere cheese and lobster and shrimp rolls For appetizers. But what really surprised us and will have us coming back was the Mouth watering ribeye steak covered with a savory cognac sauce and mushrooms. The 12 oz steak was tender and juicy at every bite, laying over a bed of white rice And grilled green beans. The giant snow crab legs that accompanied this succulent steak were also delicious! No room for dessert as the meal is large enough to split if you wanted to make it to the dessert round! We highly recommend the ribeye and snow crab legs. On Mondays and Thursdays the restaurant offers 50% off any entry! Reasonable enough for anyone to give it a try!"

  • "When we arrived Saturday night the hostess begrudgingly sat us. No one came to our table for over 10 minutes. I went back to the hostess and inquired. Then someone came to give us water. Eventually a waitress came. When we ordered a bottle of wine and meals off the menu, she seemed quite put out. There was a buffet that did not interest us. There was a large party at the bar near our table. We wanted to move away a bit but that looked like it would slow our service more. Our meals were lightly warm; not hot; indicating they had been sitting for quite a bit. This really ruined our last night in Hawaii and I would not recommend this place."

  • "We have been to this restaurant many times over this holiday. On every occasion we have left as extremely happy campers. They have a Lobster night on Sunday and do a really good buffet on Friday & Saturday nights. Lots of King Crab, cuts of beef, etc or have them make you a stirfry. The view of the sunsets from their restaurant are simply stunning. Worth a visit if your staying in Waikoloa."

  • "Best place for crab legs on the Big Island. Especially when considering the price. Other items are very limited."

  • "Last night was about our sixth visit to the reastaurant in about a month. The quality of the food is consistant. A lovely spot to watch the sunsets and chill out. The Friday & Saturday Buffet nights are recommended as well as Sunday's $22 Lobster night. Well priced for the area."

  • "Last night was there Lobster special at $22. We thought the lobster would be average at that price. But it wasn't. Great meals for all 4 of us - and we couldn't fault the service. EXCELLANT"

  • "Staying at the Marriott for second time. Last visit Hawaii calls menu was pedestrian and we went to restaurant 3 times simply because it has such a fabulous setting. Expansive views of the ancient fish ponds and on to A-Bay from anywhere you sit in the restaurant. This year however, the food is greatly improved. Menu has imagination and the taste follows through. Went for the $22 Keahole lobster night. Perfectly poached whole lobster, really simpe and wonderful. Started with ugly tomatoe salad with goat cheese and ended with pineapple upside down cake with macadamia nut ice cream. Go there for happy hour and enjoyed a $7 guava martini, yummy. Waiters and waitresses are overworked, Marriott needs to hire more help."

  • "A very nice buffet spread. Not overwhelmed with a bunch of "filler", but just the right amount of the "good stuff" (prime rib and snow crab). Excellent service and the buffet was always stocked, even with a large crowd. Probably the most reasonably priced buffet on the coast. We love dining here and will be back soon!"

  • "Loved the food (bypassed the buffet) and the atmosphere was wonderful. Had a table on the edge close to the pool, so felt like we had a private dining area. Only wish our service was as great as the food and view"

  • "It was a new years eve buffet style dinner so we didn't actually get to experience the regular menu. As a result the ratings might be lower than they otherwise would be."

  • "General mood is excellent for sunset dinner. We could see beautiful sunset. For the dishes, "SEA" and "MEET" were also excellent. Hawaiian fishes were very fresh. PrimeRib was also very good and high cost performance."

  • "My Husband and I were staying at the Hotel and decided to dine on Thursday night when entrees were 50% off. We both had the blackened Ono which was delicious. The sun setting in the background cannot be beat. Having dined here a few nights we knew that the gratuity was not automatically added to the bill. (We were a party of 2 not 6 or more). This night, the gratuity was added. This would not normally be a problem except that it was based on the higher entree price. Which equated to a higher gratuity. I guess it was the restaurants way of recouping for the discounted price. To make matters worse, the server explained this to us and asked if it was ok. Like we had a choice. They should tell diners this BEFORE so as not to surprise them"

  • "Very limited menu and had a lot of kids running around. Very nice setting and if they expanded the menu and it was a quite might not be too bad of a place."
    Dined on 12/2/2013
  • "We went on Monday night - half off entrees... Otherwise, entrees were mediocre. Not terrible. Not great. Ugly tomato salad with goat cheese and balsamic was above mediocre."

  • "We went on a Thursday when entrees were 50% off, which made the price about right. Food was very good as was the service. Great location. Would go back again and would recommend to others"

  • "It was our 46th anniversary at the Waikoloa Marriott. The sun had just set so the sky was still vibrant with colors and a cool breeze was a welcomed relief from the very warm day. We were given an outside table by the pool; a perfect setting. The service was great and the food was wonderful. A great evening to celebrate our anniversary and complimentary champagne was a much appreciated gift from the hotel. Who could ask for more in this island paradise?"

  • "Sunday brunch utilizing the buffet. Service was prompt and attentive. Buffet line was pretty standard including the omelet station. Ask at front desk for weekly discounts, there was a 25% discount which made it reasonably priced for a resort. Nice view but the little local birds have learned where the food is. The staff will keep your plates covered with a napkin or pick them up promptly!"
