  • "I would avoid this restaurant until the chef can get the daily special right (Ribeye vs Filet). Also service was very slow coming out the kitchen over two hours to eat with only 4 tables in the restaurant occupied. The server was great and tried to make up for the kitchens error by bring out the correct stake, however, it was lacking the toppings that were on the first stake "because they already served it that way." no other options to make up for the error were offered by the management."

  • "First time there, went early so very light crowd. Great Staff. Food was good. really good bar downstairs... music over ran the music from the restaurant as it is an open type environment in the hotel. Hard to find the entrance as it is on the far side of the building and there are no real signs pointing to an entrance if you are coming from the Lionshead area."

  • "The hostess was cheerful and friendly. Steve, our service, was energetic, gracious and very friendly. He was most gracious when a certain part of the meal was a surprise to me. Due to some dietary restrictions, I was not able to enjoy the item the way it was presented, but without hesitation, Steve swept up the delicacy, and in moments returned with the item adjusted so I could enjoy it's tasty flavors. Bravo!"

  • "The Sunday night we were there, the place was fairly empty but the staff was nonetheless gracious. The food generally was good to very good, with an exceptional specially prepared veggie platter made upon request. Just delicious and artfully arranged. The room is attractive and is a fine option"

  • "We conducted a breakfast meeting of seven people in a corner booth area at the back of the restaurant. We had some serious financial issues to discuss over breakfast. It was a fantastic setting. We were there after the breakfast rush so that helped but the service was fantastic, attentive but not intrusive. Half our group grazed over the buffet while the other half ate off the menu. Everything we had was great and our mission was accomplished."

  • "It's a quaint place with maybe only 10 tables in one room and a few 2 tops out in the hall by the window. Had the Filet Mignon (made in house steak sauce was amazing although the steak was so good it was unneccesary) it was delicious. Also try the Summer Berry Salad and the Smore Sandwich. Surprised me how good it was!"

  • "The staff here is very accommodating and your wish is their command. I had the Berry salad, Ahi Tuna wraps which were delicious. The fresh peanuts sauce and fresh Ahi were delightful combination. I ordered a glass of the Sterling Cabernet glass the waiter opened a new bottle without hesitation.. I really enjoyed my visit."

  • "We were staying at Vail Spa so this was a nice place to go for our first night in town, a short walk across the street. I was disappointed that the fish tacos were no longer on the menu. We all opted for something small like soups and salads and were pleased. The dining room was not too busy, like reports we got from friends (we were travelling with a ski club of 90 on this trip) that the restaurants in Lionshead for packed. We just wanted something simple without having to wait long and fight crowds after a long day of traveling."

Our server, although enthusiastic and eager to please, could not make up for a lack of knowledge of the cuisine and wine list. At these prices, my expectations were higher. The food was well-prepared, but again the presentation was plain and uninspired. The competition here has a lot more to offer than a convenient location."

  • "We had been twice before for Christmas Dinner but were really disapointed this time. The food was a lot more limited than before,the prawns were tasteless, the waiter left 3 empty bottles of wine on the table & didn't ask us if we wanted more, we had to ask; there was no Turkey, stuffing, decorations etc (a necessity for British people on Christmas day), the deserts were disapointing, all frosting, no cheesecakes etc. Your lobby used to have ponsetia all the way up the stairs & decorations in the dinning area. It just didn't feel special or like Christmas. I appreciate you have more emphasis on Thanksgiving but surely as an international hotel you should cater to everyone."

The signature cornbread was the best we have ever eaten. The ribs were awesome, as was the roasted chicken. And the dessert with meringue, chocolate cake and ice cream was, as our waitress noted, "magic.""

  • "The food was very good as was the service. The menu has small plates and large plates so one can sample many tastes or opt for a larger entree. I like that kind of flexibility. I chose to order two small plates. I had the cottage fries with truffle oil, blue cheese and bacon to start. It was really yummy but very rich. I could not finish it all! My husband had the hummus trio which was awesome! And very generous in size! Two people or more can easily share it! Unfortunately, the noise level was too high! The room is very small and does not absorb noise at all and there were a few very loud talkers at other tables. It was very distracting. The ambiance is also lacking."

  • "If you are looking for a great steak, try the 14 oz. Buffalo Ribeye. The glazed Salmon was also a winner. Portions are appropriate and presented well. Sherry scented mushrooms and mascarpone smashed/whipped potatoes were very good. Steaks are topped with truffle butter and come with a small skillet of roasted garlic. We also tried the house steak sauce and it was surprisingly good. The braised short ribs would be hard to beat anywhere and the Oysters Rockefeller are better than wonderful. The Chef brought us a dessert sampler of of warm chocolate cookies, Bailey's Milk Shake, Pumpkin Creme Brulee and warm banana bread. Very nice surprise, apparently because we made reservations with OpenTable.com"

  • "The New York Strip was seasoned to perfection, and just perfectly cooked. The potatoes were wonderful, fresh garlic delicious. The wait staff was slow, calamari a bit overcooked, the wine selection was good. Overall, it was a very good meal, but service could be improved."

  • "We are local, and had never heard about the restaurant in the Vail Marriott. While skiing we met a couple that recommended we have breakfast at the Marriott. What a find; the best kept secret in Vail. Energetic, fast and wonderful, creative buffet. There was a Waffle-Cereal station with the best granola I had ever had. The Chef gave me the recipe and I can't wait to try it at home. We also enjoyed the "Carne Asada" breakfast tacos. The meat is carved to order and the corn tortillas are hand-made. The fresh squeezed juice station was over the top. I tried the carrot-apple with ginger and the fresh watermelon juice. After breakfast our car was waiting out front and there was no charge. We have not seen anything like this in Vail."

  • "One of the best Prime Steaks I have ever had! Tender and seasoned well. The house-made Steak Sauce is exceptional. Sweetbreads & Mushrooms were my favorite. Sweet Potato Fries and Vermouth Scented Broccoli were hot and tasty The Baked Stuffed Oysters are a value and a “must have”. The Chef’s Cheese Selection and presentation …was incredible. This meal was an unexpected, well-presented, great steakhouse dinner. Free valet parking, I will be back."

  • "We didn't care for this restaurant. It was way overpriced but that's probably because it's in a hotel (a Vail hotel at that.) The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired since it's situated by open hallways where hotel guests (including skiiers coming in from the slopes and after ski drinks) walk by -- including past tables located in the hallway. The food was just "okay" although the servers and hostess were all pleasant enough."

  • "I was staying at this hotel, and went there once for dinner and on the last day for breakfast. I rate my dinner experience as poor. This place seems to be trying to feature itself as a fine steakhouse for dinner, with the high-end prices to match. It is a failure at the effort. I ordered a porterhouse steak ($44 a la carte!) medium rare and received a small T-bone, only 1/2 inch thick that was so thin toward the edges that it was almost well-done. The side dishes were boring and tasteless, the caesar salad was limp and didn't taste like a good caesar at all. The ambiance at dinner was inescapably still that of a standard hotel 3-meals-a-day restaurant, with irritating band music playing. Breakfast was run-of-the-mill."
