A word from Emeril's Delmonico
Located on the famed St. Charles street car line in the lower Garden District, Emeril’s Delmonico has been a New Orleans tradition since 1895. Today, Chef de Cuisine Anthony Scanio continues Chef Emeril Lagasse’s signature style of “New New Orleans” cuisine, while adding influences from the diverse cultures that helped shape the Creole tradition. On the menu, it’s not uncommon to find ingredients from the Caribbean islands, such as crisp plantains, along side more classic Creole dishes to create a wholly unique dining experience. You’ll find New Orleans originals, such as oysters Bienville and fresh fish meuniere, as well as new favorites—a chorizo-stuff pork loin, dry-aged duck breast, and of course, sumptuous, dry-aged steaks. Delmonico features nightly starters, soups, entrée, and dessert specials and a seasonally changing menu based on local and regionally available meats and produce. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "This place was absolutely remarkable. We were 30 minutes late and made it in just before the kitchen closed. This is definitely the best restaurant I possible have ever been to! I took my wife here for her birthday. I forget the servers name absolutely remarkable. Every time bread crumbs hit the table they would be cleaned off, server was friendly helpful, timed very well when he would check on us and interject - I hate when mid conversations someone interjects. The food itself was remarkable."

  • "Perfect romantic dinner for our honeymoon. Wait staff was professional but stiff. Quality of food not the same as 12 years ago."

  • "had a really good dinner there on a Monday night with 12 people. They set us up at a large table on the 2nd floor next to the wine cellar. Appetizers were outstanding - especially the shrimp on a disk of grits (not sure what it is called on the menu). They had a Mahi-mahi special with shrimp that was outstanding. We had two waiters helping to serve us so service was not a problem."

  • "We dined upstairs, a long set of stairs! We were in a relatively small room with 4 tables. Next to us was a larger room. It was a bit noisy. The pork chop was recommended. It was a OK but a bit tough. There many waiters floating around the table. They didn't give us much peace to eat. I guess the hovering is considered a sign of excellent service. Too much for me. The bananas foster was a treat. This was our first Emeril restaurant. It was good but not great."

  • "great food as always. We like the way the Emeril's restaurants give local young men and women a chance to learn the Food Business!! We look forward to a meal here the next time we are in New Orleans."

  • "Great meal and extraordinary service! Possibly the best New York Strip I've eaten!"

  • "The staff attentiveness, the atmosphere, the wine, and the food which included appetizer, salad, soup, entrée, and desert for a table of 5 was well worth the spending the evening enjoying."

  • "Service was the best part of the evening... Impeccable!!! Found food prices to be more than expected. Feel we paid more for the name "Emerial's than the food quality. Menu was limited ... expected more fish options. Fish that was served was cold. However staff offered delightful dessert."

  • "My fish wasbeautifully presented and tasty but under temperature. I may have been that the timing in the kitchen was off as one of my party ordered a steak medium well."

  • "Wonderful food but the outstanding service is what made this our favorite meal of the weekend! Our server Francisco made us feel like we were regulars, stopping in for our weekly dinner. The staff seemed to have perfect timing- glasses were always filled, plates taken away once you finished eating (but not before), etc. if you enjoy a steak, try the rib eye. I often order steak when dining out & the rib eye here was cooked perfectly. It was a pleasant 10-15 minute walk from our hotel (which was located on Gravier St, between the French Quarter & the Warehouse District), although we did take a taxi back to the hotel after the meal because we were so full! And, once again, the Delmonico's staff was helpful with getting us a cab as well!"

  • "A gem of a restaurant outside the bustle of Bourbon Street. Near the Garden District on the trolley line. Easy to get to. Excellent service and innovative menu."
    Dined on 4/28/2013
  • "Emeril's Delmonico is a must if visiting New Orleans! Take a trolley that stops directly in front of this Charles Street gem. Depending on where you are seated you may walk through the kitchen in New Orleans fashion before you sit down to a glorious meal. The charcuterie is notable and not to be missed! I would also highly recommend the pancetta wrapped dates and the artisanal cheese board, particularly Moses Sleeper served with honey and preserves. The service is excellent and all entrees were presented beautifully as well as being delicious! Unfortunately, we had no room for dessert."

  • "Delmonico is synonymous with steaks. The steak menu was too slim for a steak house. 3 beef items is not a steak house."

  • "I had the duck. The Tasso flavor gave the dish an amazing smoky flavor. We ordered a lot of the specials including the strawberry salad which had a lovely peppery bite. The service was impressive. My water glass was never more then a quarter empty and we had recs from the captain. I highly recommend."

  • "Love to have a meal at Delmonico when we are in NOLA. I love the steaks, they are the best steaks anywhere ..."
    Dined on 3/12/2014
  • "The food was excellent; from the appetizer of BBQ shrimp with grit cakes, thru the steak entrées (my wife had a filet, while I had the bone in prime rib), all the way to a dessert of bananas foster, this meal was great! The service was excellent as well; the staff met all of our requests with great attitude and flexibility. We ate upstairs near a front facing window - nice ambience for us. But the noise level was very high, and the staff seemed a bit deaf to it. It would have been great to have spent such a wonderful experience (and higher than average priced meal) with my wife in a more suitably intimate dining room. If ever in New Orleans with a group, this restaurant is a must visit. I found it loud for intimate occasions."

  • "We arrived at 2pm on a Friday for lunch and were immediately seated by the window. The service was exceptional. Staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. Food arrived and was great. We had the 3 course lunch and was very happy with our choices. We will recommend this restaurant to family and friends and will return ourselves when we visit again."

  • "My son and I visited New Orleans and knew this was on the "must do" list. We have been fortunate to eat in some fine dining restaurants, however this was amazing. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The service was attentive, informative and pleasant. We will recommend to everyone!"

  • "We were very disappointed with our dining experience. Stay away from eating in the upstairs dining area. The room is like eating in a banquet hall or Hotel breakfast room."
    Dined on 4/3/2014
  • "The steaks were excellent, the service was very friendly. The wine list was...way way over the top. They need a little more variety in the moderate price range or to readjust their idea of moderate price."
    Dined on 3/27/2014
  • "Would enjoy our experience a lot better if the waiters gave us more time to appreciate the food"

  • "We were asked to wait in the bar until a table became available although the restaurant was half empty. They gave us enough time to buy a drink and then escorted us to our table. We were put into a smaller room in the front which eventually filled up, while a larger room in the rear had only a few occupied tables. The salad was nice and fresh, with a lot of misc items such as pickled onions. I order the trout which was fresh but a slight bit drier than I like. The accompanying vegetable and sauce was uninspiring. My wife dislike her shrimp meal. The vegetables didn't go well together at least as well as you'd expected at a "gourmet" restaurant. The shrimp had a strange flavor which she described as musty. The wait staff was helpful."

  • "Everything was great except the steak being overly salty. One person in the group couldn't finish his steak due to the salt. However, the duck was awesome."

  • "This is probably our 5th time at Emerils Delmonico. We always try to have one meal here when visiting New Orleans because the food is always special and delicious. The service is very attentive and friendly. They take good care of vegetarians which is not always the case in the upper end NOLA restaurants. The cheese board is always a great way to either start or end a meal here (or both!) because the selection and presentation is always amazing. Every dish was a delight, we are never disappointed."

  • "We were visiting from out of town and celebrating a birthday. Both the food and service were outstanding. The waiter even picked out the perfect glass of wine to accompany my meal. The NewYork steak was better than any other steak house and the drum with crabmeat was also great. Portions were generous."

  • "a good friend recommended Emeril's Delmonico as one of the best meals he and his wife had ever experienced, particularly the mashed potatoes. We were equally impressed. Everything from the first crab croquettes and the coconut mango martini to the impeccable coconut cream pie, was awesome. highly recommend the steaks. My husband ordered the lamb which was also perfect. All the vegetables were outstanding, from collard greens to spinach to Brussels sprouts. just wish we traveled to New Orleans more often!!!"

  • "Had not eaten at Delmonico in several years, so I decided to try it again for my wife's birthday. What a disappointment. My frog legs were good, but not great. My wife's salad was swimming in dressing and would have been better with 50% less dressing. I had the Pork Shank which was dry and overcooked - inexcusable for a dish cooked and served with gravy. My wife's fish was overcooked as well and covered with way too much sauce and she only was able to eat half of her meal. The dessert was the best part of the meal. The meal was not up to the standards of Emeril's other restaurants. I have no plans to go back there any time soon as there are too many good restaurants nearby."
