Located just minutes east of downtown Austin and situated on the beautiful grounds of Springdale Farm, one of Austin's first urban farms, Eden East is a serene respite from the bustling city life and offers its guests an unparallelled farmside dining experience.

The restaurant is reservation only and offers its guests seasonal, prix fixe menus with dinners known to last long into the weekend night.

Eden East is B.Y.O.B. and strongly suggests checking ahead with the kitchen to pair your favorite wine or cocktail with the evening's offerings.

Diner Reviews
  • "The ambiance, music and farm space made fore a beautiful dining experience. The staff were on top of everything, approachable, funny and made the experience all the more relaxing. We never wanted for anything, and they even allowed us to slow down the courses so we could continue conversation under such lovely hickory trees. The queer thing was the food was the low point (except that fig panna cotta, wow!) and that "low point" was still 4 out of 5."

The friendly and knowledgeable wait staff add to the overall experience. For those who know and enjoy excellent food and food prep, you will love end East. • "A little escape with great food, great and fun servers and a wonderful setting. Great for a romantic evening with one or a long evening with friends. Come with a plan to stay and spend a long evening with good friends."

  • "Different but great ambience. Nice to be able to get up and walk through the gardens between courses. Food was fantastic and portions sized appropriately for a multi course meal."

  • "We ate here last weekend and had a great time. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We arrived early to walk around their lovely farm and have a cocktail, it feels like another world. One small hiccup, some of the dishes didn't totally make sense. For example, dessert was described as a ice cream sandwich, but the presentation was a single cookie with ice cream and nuts on top. I understand taking an expectation and putting a twist on it, but a sandwich has pretty clear components, so I'm not sure it worked. But I am open to the idea that the dish was exactly as conceived and I just didn't understand it. Anyways, overall we loved it, would recommend the experience to anyone and will definitely come again."

  • "We dined for a special occasion and had a wonderful evening of strolling through the farm, wonderful food and great conversation with people seated next to us. It was a really fun evening."

  • "We were a group of four friends celebrating birthdays. We loved taking a walk around the farm with a cocktail prior to dinner. The meal was excellent, very fresh and flavorful. We were not rushed but didn't have to wait too long between courses either. Service was impeccable, helpful but let us chat and enjoy ourselves. I definitely plan to go again!"

  • "This place is so unique it's hard to categorize in a way that will truly convey how magical it is. Everything about it feels ultra hip and of-the-moment without for one unite being forced, fake, pretentious, full of itself. It is a genuine expression of talent, passion and creativity. An absolute MUST in Austin. And make sure to buy some produce on the way out."

  • "What a perfect evening. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was idyllic. I loved being able to take my own wine. We can't wait to return."

  • "I really enjoyed this dining experience because it is just that - a beautiful dining experience. Outside, under the trees and the stars, communal tables (but don't worry you're not eating family style or something like that), BYOB, Charming, charming wait staff that seem to really love being there, and good food as well...can't beat that. I won't go into much on what it's like because you can find that on-line, I will give a few reminders. Summer - mosquitos (prepare!), Summer - red wine should not be 76F (prepare!), Heels - ok but no spikey heels ladies, it's grass, Skirts and dresses - remember, you may have to get in and out of a picnic bench in the middle! Again, it is lovely but be prepared."

  • "We enjoyed the ambiance and the food! This was recommended by a chef friend in Arkansas. I'm not usually comfortable with sitting alongside strangers, but the outdoor atmosphere was so comfortable, we had a great time sitting on the family style tables! Food was outstanding!"

  • "The venue, meal and staff were all perfect. Relaxed and casual setting, dine outside in style while enjoying your own beverage (BYOB) or tastey Deep Eddy Vodka drinks they show cased that evening. Great for a romantic dinner for two and since you dine family style it would be fun to book a whole table or possibly the whole place. Definitely a must visit."

  • "This place was like no other dining experience. The food is all farm to table and so fresh and delicious. We all loved everything but the dessert. Even though it was a 5 course pre fix menu the portion sizes were perfect. It was great eating outdoors but it was a rather warm evening. I wouldn't suggest this for kids or picky eaters but definitely good for foodies."

  • "Imagine fine dining under the stars and trees....that is Eden East. The five course meal was more than expected and everything tasted like it had just been picked! You can even take a walk thru the farm after dinner. A couple of helps: 1) It's a farm....dress accordingly and 2) BYOB. Very unique experience. Highly recommend for an out-of-the-ordinary dining experience."

  • "Eden East has been on my Austin list of must dos since discovering Springdale Farms on a bike adventure a little over a year ago. Last week was my last in Austin and my friends and I gathered for a last hurrah. The staff was amazing from before we even arrived - I love the text confirmation of reservation. We updated our numbers the day of (adding one to our party) and we even adjust our dietary restrictions just hours before we arrived with no fuss. Walking into the garden restaurant was like being transported to a magical alternate universe - the design is simple, yet stunning and even more impressive, the food matches. We've all been to places that are scenic and charming but the food isn't great - Eden East is perfect!"

  • "went here for my birthday. I never stopped smiling the minute I stepped onto the grounds. This place is so special! The food was wonderful and the complimentary cocktails are great. I love that they have a wine shop right down the street that does wine pairings. Just the ambience itself if worth a trip. The only negative I have is that we had to wait quite a long time, about 30 minutes, between one of the courses. I really enjoyed walking around the farm and the live music. But of course, it's a restaurant, so the food actually does matter in a review, right? It's very worth it. Go for the food and the ambience. You won't be disappointed!!"

  • "AMAZING! The restaurant & farm looked like a photo shoot straight out of BonAppetite. Arrive early to roam the farm and take in all the surroundings. The food was delicious and the portions were the perfect size. The staff was extremely friendly & made our experience that more special. I felt like I was in the countryside tucked away in a little piece of farm heaven. This is a must visit when in Austin. Definitely a one-of-a-kind farm to table open-air experience. Would also be an amazing place for a wedding reception! "

  • "We celebrated my son's high school graduation at Eden East and thought it was fabulous. The group of family and friends included a large number of foodies with food sensitivities and they all were happy content folk by the end of the meal. We particularly enjoyed bringing our own wine."

  • "I took my boyfriend to Eden East for his birthday. The farm was great, the ambiance was perfect, and we made friends with our neighbors at the table so the whole night was a winner. Because this was a birthday celebration, we went based on the date not the menu. I usually get the weekly menu updates which always have some random and unusual dishes so I was bummed to have two of my least favorite things on the menu....gazpacho and pork. That being said, I hate yelp reviews for this very reason. I'm not going to judge a restaurant based on menu items that just weren't my preference. The food was great, I just wasn't blown away because of my own preferences. I would still recommend the place."

  • "This is a dining experience like none other I’ve ever had in the U.S. The only dinner comparable to this was at a vineyard in Mendoza, Argentina. Once we were seated, that seat was ours for the whole evening. The amazing wait staff described the carefully prepared farm to table dishes as they served them. We started with a Vodka complimentary cocktail followed by pulled duck on toast, gazpacho, crab cake, grilled pork chop and bombolini. Our own wine made the evening even more enjoyable. They sent me a text the day before our dinner to say that we'd be dining outside and asking if we had any food allergies or dietary restrictions. What other restaurant does that?!? I cannot wait until our culinary adventure at Eden East! "

  • "My fiance and I went here for my birthday and I loved it! The food is amazing, and the atmosphere is the best I have experienced in Austin! Family style picnic tables and a five course meal! At any point during the meal you can get up and walk around the beautiful farm or get a free cocktail! Wonderful atmosphere - we will definitely be back for dinner and I am looking forward to going to the farmer's market they have there! "

  • "I invited my husband to Eden East to celebrate my special achievement. We enjoyed a very pleasant evening, great atmosphere of outdoor restaurant and healthy authentic meal. Watermelon cocktail was excellent. We also brought our bottle of wine. Sitting at the big table on the banch was quite unusual, but we both liked it a lot."

  • "Magical evening under the oaks! The five course dinner coupled with BYOB makes Eden East an excellent value. The quality of the food, attentiveness to detail and truly magical atmosphere makes it an memorable experience. I can't wait to go back!"

  • "Very pretty place to dine with friends. It's nice that you can bring your own wine. It does, however, take 3 hrs; so I personally probably won't go back. But I did learn that it's not the amount of food that makes me want to stop eating, it's the time. I got bored with eating after the first course. We arrived at 8:30 and had 3 small courses before the entree finally arrived 2 hrs later. I would suggest they do a less foodie type menu and really showcase their farm grown produce. Big beautiful salads, roasted vegetables, etc would be better than trying to swing these works of art type courses. I will possibly try their brunch. Their servers are fantastic!"

  • "Found this restaurant when looking at Open Table for somewhere to eat. Outside dining with their farm and chickens in the back. Nice place to roam around between courses. Food was excellent. Fresh from the farm. Deviled duck eggs fresh from their ducks. Food served family style for the Easter Brunch. The only thing that didn't work well was the order in which they brought out the food. We did not get the quiche until after the meat dishes and most of the people had already left the table."

  • "A birthday dinner under a clear moonlit sky. The courses were perfect that weekend, the ambiance was great, the service was flawless and the food was divine. Worth a visit especially for a special occasion."

  • "As we arrived, rain began to change from mist to dribble. We were shown to the end of a table not underneath trees, and as the table and napkins were wet, we asked to be moved inside. We waited under the awning of one of the food prep areas and near the bar, so were entertained with everything going on there. After several minutes, we were led inside to a table in a room with no other diners. Perfect. Noise level from the galley (banging pots, etc.) and the outdoor wedding was noticeable, but not mood killing. We enjoyed the food - some of it more than others. The celeriac potage could have used some spice, and the beets/strawberry combination with the pork chop were odd, and we like odd. The chicken mousseliene was excellent."

  • "We were totally unprepared for what we found at Eden East. The tables were all outside in a pleasing garden setting, and were mostly communal. That's ok except here our foursome was practically in the laps of our neighbors on either side. Other than that, very relaxing and different. The service was informal but professional; waitstaff well informed and appropriately attentive. The menu was well thought out with attention to food allergies if needed. This is a locavore restaurant; all foods" origins were well explained. I do wish however that we had been informed when we made the reservation that there was a possibility that we would be eating outside. The evening was a bit chilly and some of us were unprepared for outdoor dining."

  • "Bring your favorite wine and friends. Prepare for an entire evening under the stars of socializing interrupted occasionally by delicious food prepared by one of Austin's premier chefs. It's a 3-course meal on Thursdays and 5-course meal on Friday's and Saturday's. The menu is fixed and changes every week, with Thursday's selection generally a subset of the weekend meal. The food is locally sourced. The service is outstanding. Each course is served with an explanation of what it is and how it's prepared. There's no table turnover and you'll need a reservation that will be confirmed generally the day before. Arrive on weekends by 7 and stay as late as you want. You can even take a break from eating to enjoy complimentary cocktails du jour."

  • "Such a beautiful, natural setting. Deep Eddy cocktails were creative and delicious. Our server was great. The food was fresh, local, and delicious, and the courses were nicely timed. This is not a quick meal. Plan to walk around and take in all the beauty of the farm (I recommend to do so just before sunset and then enjoy your meal under the stars!). We were celebrating a birthday and there couldn't have been a more perfect spot."

  • "Went here for my wife's birthday and what a hit. The food was outstanding, the staff excellent and a cool setting for dinner. The steak was one of the best I've ever had and everything tasted great. Highly recommend and can't wait to go again."

  • "Went there for a special "Mardis Gras" themed dinner. The food was okay and I'd like to go back and try some non-themed dishes. The service was oustanding and they are sure to cater to your needs. If you want to stop half way through and go walk the grounds, they encourage you to do so. The ambience is incredible as well, all of the lights and the campfire really add a lot to the experience."

  • "The outdoor dining was gorgeous and the staff was all very friendly and knowledgable, but $300 for four people (not including $40 worth of alcohol which we had brought ourselves and not including a $60 tip we left) was a bit much for the dinner we had. I think if it had been about $20 less per person, we would have walked away feeling fully satisfied and ready to talk up the restaurant to all of our friends. But the $300 tab left us feeling like there must have been a mistake. After realizing there was no mistake, I felt like it was too expensive to recommend to others and that the meal didn't quite live up to the price."

  • "For $70 a person, we expected better. The food was all very bland, with incredibly small portions, and wait staff that knew nothing about the food. We didn't like any of the 5 courses served and immediately went for another meal as we left still hungry (which shouldn't happen with a $150 total bill). I'll not be recommending this one to anyone. The scenery was nice, no denying that."

  • "We had an absolutely enchanting evening at the Farm. Dean was our waiter - he was wonderful and gave us a lot of the history on the chef and the farm. The Mardi Gras theme menu was wonderful and unique. The freshness of the food and flavors was incredible. We really enjoyed the unique experience and will be visiting again on our next trip to Austin. Thank you!"

  • "The meal was well executed and moderately interesting. The delivery was pretentious and over the top. I wouldn't not go again - but I do think the restaurant would do well to inject a touch of humility into the presentation."
