quaintWe enjoyed Duo, although I wish that I would have had something else to eat. My white fish and clams were just too salty and I could barely eat it. I know my pallet runs salty, though. I tried other people's food, and I liked everyone's besides my own. We had lovely wine, our server was excellent, and I loved that they have a delicious gluten free chocolate dessert. It is seriously amazing!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMTwice GreatLoHi is a happening neighborhood in Denver. Lofts and young professionals sprouting like weeds. There are many restaurant choices. In the four days of our visit to Denver we chose to eat at Duo twice. The place is unpretentious, the service attentive and the food outstanding. They've introduced a happy hour that makes for even greater affordability.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food experience! StartedGreat food experience! Started with halibut crudo that included not only plenty of halibut but a great blend of flavors that included a little fresno pepper, some red onion, and red AND black radishes, all with a wonderful lemon "juice" that moderated flavors where needed and enhanced others - just terrific! Also had a very special pork chop with a spicy rhubarb relish that was amazing - and I'm no rhubarb fan. My wife enjoyed a mouthwatering salmon dish.
We'll be back!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisite Highlands GemDelicious food and outstanding service in a unique environment. Just perfect!6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBest fried chicken sandwichDuo's fried chicken sandwich would have to be one of the best in Denver.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMcreative brunchLove the way Duo uses fresh, local ingredients to create interesting and healthy dishes. Service was attentive and prompt despite the busy crowd.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticSimply perfect. Love the whole package. The decor is charming. The service attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. And the food, amazing! All this at a very reasonable price point. Thanks for an excellent experience Duo. We will be back, and soon!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat balanceDuo serves creative and delicious food in a beautifully decorated room. Feels very nice and hip without the pressure of a super fancy vibe. Wonderful dinner!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWOWMy husband and I have been going to Duo for over six years now. We love the local food sourcing and the inventive dishes they consistently delight us with. This week we celebrated my husband's birthday and had probably some of the best food we've ever eaten there. The pea bruschetta was spring on our plate and the butter salad was divine with hints of smoky bacon and a slight acidic finish, which was very refreshing. The main star of the show was the lamb meatballs -- an exquisite combination of fresh baby vegetables with melt in my mouth meatballs, side dressed with these little crispy, cumin forward lentil squares. All of that underlaced by a carrot puree. Kudos Duo -- you continue to delight and amaze, even after all these years.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAll of the food was at a minimumAll of the food was at a minimum good but not outstanding, but the gnocchi and pork chop were excellent.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchWhat a nice choice for Mother's Day Brunch. We enjoyed our egg dish entrees, especially the one with wonderful fresh asparagus as an ingredient. The delicious french press coffee and outstanding pastry basket selection completed our choices. The food was good, service was friendly and the menu selection was fresh and interesting. We highly recommend this restaurant and are anxious to try it in the evening in the future. Its neighborhood location was quite nice.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFun!I had 4 girls with me for a farewell dinner party. We had an excellent dinner! The food was really spectacular, the drinks were delicious and interesting, and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. Our seating arrangements were a bit tight but not uncomfortable. The only complaint I have is the service, ours was slightly slow. Not much to complain about though because we had more than enough fun spending the time with each other. I think this restaurant is best suited for small parties looking to relax over great food, in a hip environment, for a special occasion. I would highly recommend it to any and everyone! Thank-you so much!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA Highlands GemWe've dropped in at Duo for breakfast (always crowded) several times over the past few years. Recently made a reservation for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Interesting menu. Excellent food. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable service. It was a great evening.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe Loved Duo!The food was fabulous with everyone in our party thoroughly enjoying their meal. The butter salad was out of this world and was a perfect starter for the salmon! My date had the lamb shank and as promised it was quite good. Service was attentive but never pushy and allowed us time to linger for a bit over cocktails before ordering.
We will definitely be back!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBravo Duo!Met friends here for dinner last nite. Parking requires some cruising around, but not bad. Greetings at door warm and welcoming. Knowledgeable server, with good attentiveness in spite of a busy, full room. Salads and soup creative and full of flavor. Entree list offered something for everyone, flavorful, and generous. My farm raised Scottish salmon with chard, yukon potatoes, and turnips hit a home run. Need to return for the cassoulet. Wines by the glass nicely accommodated our various tastes and were reasonably priced. Chocolate ganache dessert and port wine was the best ever
Bravo Duo!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious, menu wasFood was delicious, menu was creative. Get the pastry basket! Only issue was our food took a bit long to prepare - we had 12p reservations and were eating at 12:40. I'm chalking it up to an "off" time of day (lots of large groups dining). Fabulous place and I will be going again!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMVery accommodating when weVery accommodating when we were late for our reservation. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was very good. The gnocci was excellent!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMVisited Duo for brunch thisVisited Duo for brunch this past Saturday and was pleased with the entire meal. Everyone loved their food (5 of us- all got something different) and drinks. Very strongly recommend Duo for brunch- it was delicious!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed a great birthdayWe enjoyed a great birthday brunch and would definitely return! The food and service was delightful!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDining area crowded. OverallDining area crowded. Overall though, a good experience.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!Every plate was excellent. Food was fresh, vibrant, creative, and well seasoned. We will definitely be back. This was a first visit.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is great and unlike manyFood is great and unlike many popular Denver restaurants, has a relatively good selection for vegetarians. One of our party wanted to order ala carte to 'create' his own brunch item and this wasn't a problem for the kitchen. The service was a bit slow but overall, it was friendly.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AM$100/couple, inclusive of$100/couple, inclusive of wine and tip. Lamb shank (very good); pork chop (very good); chicken with walnut bread pudding (too much salt used in preparation); and cassoulet (very good). The wine was excellent, as were the olives/crackers that were served before ordering. We shared two salads - server split the salads, giving each of us our own plate -- very nice touch and appreciated! The mixed berry Pavlova, our dessert of choice, because they were out of lemon pudding cake, made for a very attractive presentation, but wasn't anything special as far as flavor goes. Service was well-timed, friendly and helpful waitstaff. A bit noisy, somewhat hindering easy conversation, but not totally prohibitive to visiting.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce again we enjoyed a lovelyOnce again we enjoyed a lovely brunch at Duo on Easter Sunday. Once again the food was very good! Even though it was a holiday, we never felt as though we were being rushed out of there, so we enjoyed the opportunity to relax, enjoy our food, and the company we were with.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent menu. Food presentedExcellent menu. Food presented beautifully. Service excellent.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe hadn't been back to DuoWe hadn't been back to Duo in several months and wondered why we hadn't. We brought some friends along and had a lovely evening. As always, the food was fantastic. They served salmon (my wife's favorite) at our request. The braised lamb shank (the first time I had it) was marvelously flavored. The service was remarkably attentive without being interruptive. The Nebbiolo wine (that we were glad to see still being offered) is one of the best reds we've ever had at a restaurant. Thank you for remaining one of the top restaurants in Denver. We'll be back again soon!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great location.Great food, great location. Would not hesitate to go again.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent restaurant whichExcellent restaurant which has been able to improve and maintain its high standards. We all enjoyed the food and had a good time!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious salad and vegetarianDelicious salad and vegetarian entree!! Also the chocolate ganache cake was wonderful3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCommendable cusine and service. So nice to have a short menu. That means everything is top quality and well prepared. No restaurant needs a multi-page menu; usually it is all average as there is no specialty cuisine or concept. Ordered short ribs which were not good. Advised our server and the manager promptly came to our table and made it all good. Went out of their way to compensate. I would go back again because another dish was promptly prepared and comped. Commendable. The restaurant was very busy on a Tuesday night and our server had to work double time as there were no assistants. She was impressive. Presentation of each plate was beautiful and all other meals and sides were excellent. Our party would return for sure.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat evening at one of ourGreat evening at one of our favorite places. Service was slow but agreeable, and we appreciated dessert drinks as an apology for the slow dinner.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the Restaurant WeekLoved the Restaurant Week menu. My friend and I shared the butter lettuce salad, mushroom toasts, buffalo short ribs, pork chop, toffee pudding and chocolate hazelnut torte. We loved the white anchovy. Very mild taste. Everything was delicious. The short ribs were fork tender and very tasty. The desserts were the best - we were tempted to lick the plates. We'll definitely be back. I still want to try the brunch. Thanks for another wonderful meal.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMTrio Goes to DuoI highly recommend Duo Restaurant- every part of our dining experience was wonderful! I love the open concept of the restaurant with brick walls and wall to ceiling glass. We had made a later reservation but asked if we could come a little earlier and the restaurant was totally accommodating. It was a fixed menu for 5280 Restaurant week and my only regret was that I could not try everything listed on the menu. I had the white bean soup, the trout and a warm hazelnut chocolate cake and everything was exceptionally delicious! My husband and daughter had arugula salad, grilled chicken and warm toffee bread pudding- I tasted their choices and thought they were equally wonderful! Our server was great I am anxious to return to Duo!2/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
