Diner Reviews
  • "Our favorite Brunch spot. Just the right price and great food. The Poke' is to die for! One of the few SoCal spots this NorCal boy will truly miss when we move back North. Reasonably priced when compared to other Buffet Brunch spots. Great service and good quality. "

  • "This is our usual spot for our anniversary dinner. The service is always friendly and love the open air feeling. I was a little disappointed in the food this time tho. Very high priced but not as good as I remember tho. Sorry. We will be visiting Dukes in Kauai in June and I will compare the food over there. Julie and Jeff Block"

  • "Met some friends here Friday night. All the courses were quite good. I had the ribs and the BBQ sauce was just the best. Food could have been warmer but otherwise was great. Rolls hot out of oven were outstanding. Pricing for the setting I thought was very reasonable as well. My wife had the fish in the banana leaf which was one of the better dishes we had. Noisy but still could talk. "

  • "20 bucks a plate and the service was sub par due to communication. We parked at a meter because Duke's doesn't open until five and we wanted to play around in Huntington Beach. We kept asking our server for a time frame so we could either rush eating or run back to the car and add some money, but there was no communication. Both us and the server were getting a little frustrated, but after explaining the situation, both parties seemed content. The food is good and for our honeymoon we wanted to live a little high, but the food, in our opinion, isn't $55 good, especially for the quantity we got."

  • "Very busy restaurant, wonderful view of the ocean.... Had 5:30 reservations, we were shown to our table within 15 minutes The waiter was very timely with taking our orders, although getting our drinks did take awhile... Everyone had our table had decided on fish and every meal was excellent! Would definetly return to try some of their other dishes.."

  • "Really enjoyed our dinner. We all had Opa or Ono, plus the calamari and hummus appetizers and pineapple upside down cake for desert. The food was very good, the fish fresh and the service outstanding. The restaurant is set right on the beach. "

  • "We have not only been to this TS Restaurant, but we have been to several of them because we always have such a wonderful time. Their food and their mai-tais are delicious. I highly recommend the hula pie as well. "

  • "This is a restaurant perhaps to come for a special occasion or if you have visitors from out of town. I won't ever do the Sunday Brunch again. You get one glass of champagne, if you want more well then dig up into your pockets for $3.25 per glass. I mean gee for $28 really! No shrimp, no crab. When we went to the person cutting the prime rib he was down to the end of it and the pieces he was slicing were the size of a fifty cent piece, no joking here, and he was hesitant to give more. When we were finished we could not find our server to get the bill and literally we had to get up, walk around and find her. Let's face it you are paying for the atmosphere. I have been here for lunch and that was just ok as well."

  • "I went to Duke's for my boyfriend's birthday and it was very memorable. We arrived 30 minutes prior to our reservation and were seated within 5 minutes, next to te window with an ocean view. Simply breathtaking. Though it was a bit loud due to the guests enjoying themselves, there was still a romantic atmosphere at or table where it mattered most. The food was absolutely exceptional. Not only was the food delicious, but the dessert...simply delicious. At the last moment our server brought out the famous Hula Pie with a lighted candle; the sweetest way to end his birthday. Thank you Duke's for making his birthday one to remember."

  • "I'm kinda mixed with Dukes. The food is GOOD. I've been her for lunch and thought the price was a bit steep for what you got, but the Sunday Brunch is quite reasonable. But nothing can takeaway from the view while dining. All in all, you're at the beach, what could be wrong with that?"

  • "Excellent grilled fish tacos. Great view/location."

  • "for my 23rd birthday, I wanted a nice dinner with my girlfriend and watch the sunset, I got to the restaurant and got seats in there closed balcony facing the beach and saw a perfect sunset over a absolutely amazing dinner. Also the gal at the front door knew it was my birthday and when I said my name from placing a reservation she was so kind to ask how my day was and seat me where I wanted for the occasion. After enjoying dinner and the sunset we left 3 hours later and I walked passed the same front lady and she asked how our dinner was as well as wished me a happy birthday again. I will be referring my friends and family to Dukes and will be going back the next time I'm in Huntington. Also our waiter was PERFECT! Thanks again!"

  • "Loved the restaurant, but the fish we were served was so tough you could barely cut it with a knife. Staff, however, was very responsive to our complaint, offering us another type of fish, or dessert."
    Dined on 3/27/2014
  • "Fresh seafood with preparation and topping of your choice. Even the side dishes are excellent. The views are the best since the restaurant is at the height of the Huntington Beach pier and situated right at the beach. The staff are friendly and efficient. I'd recommend a stroll on the pier before and/or after your meal. If you are into people watching, then you'll be sure to find quite a variety here. The only reasonable parking is with the restaurant's valet service ($6). There can be quite a wait on the weekends so I'd recommend a reservation, coming early, or hanging out at the bar while waiting. Prices can be high but worth it considering the fresh quality ingredients. As the restaurant fills it often becomes quite noisy."

  • "We chose Duke's for a birthday celebration because we love the atmosphere, its location to the ocean, and we know that we always get great food. It really was a fun gathering. Jason was a perfect server. He was personable and knowledgeable. Our food was great (and we took Jason's recommendations). We will definitely consider dining at Dukes for another event."

  • "I have been to a few of the Duke's restaurant locations, including Honolulu, Malibu and now Huntington Beach. Each time I was always pleased with the experience. Great menu with wide variety of choices and reasonably priced. I like the option of dining in or sitting in the more causal, Barefoot Bar. Both menus offer a good selection. The baja fish tacos and Hula pie are a must have!!! The ocean views never disappoint either!"

  • "We come back again and again for Sunday brunch and couldn't be happier. Made to order omelet station, build-your own salad, hot buffet, prime rib, fruits, bagels, and desserts galore. Island atmosphere with attentive service."

  • "with the HULA pie! Go here for any birthday or anniversary and the wonderful dessert will come to you after your meal free of charge (NOT free of calories)! Dinner items were fine but pricey for quantity. The appetizers: coconut shrimp and calamari were superb. Other reviewers have noted unstable service but all our servers (in the bar and restaurant) were excellent. It is $6 to valet. The next door pay lot is $1.50 per hour so valet seemed reasonable to take our time and then wander around after. We started in the Bar area and were very happy there as they serve the full menu but we had reservations and really enjoyed the slightly less noisy dining room which had great views."

  • "Reservation at 12 noon but not seated until 12:20. Server was slow & inexperienced. Had way too many tables & couldn't carry a full tray of drinks comfortably. Saw him drop a glass of mimosa at a table nearby. Took at least 5-7 minutes to greet us & then another 10 minutes to bring drinks. We were almost done with our first plate from the buffet when our drinks arrived. Took a long time to process check (we felt captive & wanted to go). He went to bar for drinks for other table. French toast was hard, couldn't cut with fork. I was expecting more seafood but all I saw was the Ahi poke. Won't be back for Brunch."

  • "The view was incredible and our table was nice since it was out on an enclosed porch and had an unobstructed view of the beach and pier. The brunch was good but they ran our of a lot of things by noon and didn't replace them."

  • "Outstanding service. Great food. Accommodated specific needs cheerfully and willingly."

  • "We arrived for our reservation for dinner on a Sunday at 5PM and were seated right away. Restaurant decor and view are very nice. Server was helpful and attentive. We wanted to order some dishes from the bar menu that are not on the dining room resturant. He said he'd check with the manager and came back and said that was OK (I mean, what difference should it really make? The food comes from the same kitchen and.our bill came out the same or higher than other menu selections we could have made.). Food was well prepared but nothing was really exceptional that you can't find elsewhere. We'd definately recommend using the valet as finding parking anywhere near there can be a nightmare on weekends."

  • "I went for sunday brunch... Nice ocean view, the food was good. fist glass of champagne or mimosa was free $3.50 after that. Crowded and a little slow service, we were almost done with our first plate when we finally received our first glass. Worth making reservations.. If not we would have waited an hour... Very popular beach spot right at the Pier."
