Diner Reviews
  • "I was late to the restaurant, but 2/3 of my party was on time. When one of them tried to check in, she was told the whole party had to be there. Then, while I was on the way, I got a call asking me if I was coming. I said my party was there and was told no one had checked in. When I got there, I asked why they wouldn't let my friends check in and was told they must have given the wrong name. The tasting room was packed and no one offered us wine or explained to us that we could sample wines. Then the bill "accidentally" included the cost of the complementary birthday desserts."

  • "The restaurant was nice the staff was friendly. The atmosphere was nice not as romantic as I like but a fine experience."

  • "Severs were young and inexperienced! They did not know the menu, awkward at the table. Food was priced like an upscale restaurant but service and quality was that of Applebees. It was our anniversary which they knew because it was added to open table and we noticed the message on the host card. No mention of this by the hostess or server. The grouper was mushy and not fresh. The steak was ordered MR and came out well done. The wine bar and entry way was fun, but the restaurant was a huge disappointment!"

  • "I absolutely love coming to Cooper hawk for the wine tasting, food and ambiance....my favorite place to go for a girls night out...or a nice quiet dinner...LOVE!!"

  • "We had excellent service! The restaurant did a fantastic job of accommodating our large party. Apps and wine were great. Food was reported salty by quite a few of our group members."

  • "We really like this restaurant. This last visit was a little disappointing. Service was slow and it was not busy since it was on a Monday evening. My steak was overcooked and a little skimpy but flavorful. I think it was a little off. It is a cool place and I would go back again."

  • "This was our third time to eat dinner at Cooper's Hawk and like the first two times, the food was amazing and the staff was friendly and well versed in the menu and the wines. If you are ever near the Plaza I would highly recommend that you stop by Cooper's Hawk for a wine tasting and appetizers or dinner."

  • "We had a great meal and our waiter was super. I loved that you could sample two wines to help make final wine selection. It was a little loud however overall experience was wonderful."

  • "We wanted to try something different and I stumbled upon this restaurant. We went with another couple and since us ladies like wine, the wine sampling was a nice way to fill the time until our table was ready. Plus the bottles of wine are not overpriced, which was a plus. I loved the food, especially the short ribs and mushroom risotto and the pork tacos appetizer was great as well. One of our party is a picky eater but we all found something that we really liked. We will be going back for sure in the near future."

  • "We are wine club members and enjoy coming monthly for a date night and to pick out our two bottles of wine. The food is amazing and the service is top knotch."

  • "My wife and i spent our 10th anniversary dinner at Cooper's Hawk - first time visit - and had an absolute blast. The food was great, the service was even better. we will go back and we'll take friends along. Fun place, lively atmosphere, great time."

  • "The service was great when we first walked in, with a nice lady offering us a sample of one of their wines, but once we were seated it went downhill. Our first issue was how terribly loud it was; we couldn't hear each other talk, and we had all the tables around us screaming in our ear. Our server was less than attentive. He didn't ask us once if we'd like another drink, and anything we did want, we had to hunt him down to request it (including the complimentary bread). The food was good, but not nearly as high quality as I expected considering my salmon was overcooked and my boyfriends steak was extremely well done when he had requested Medium Rare. He would have asked for another, but neither of us wanted to wait and our waiter was MIA."

  • "Marisa waited on us, a party of four. She was knowledgable, personable and quick. She fielded a number of questions for me including running to the kitchen to find out what kind of coffee was served. The Chicken Madiera was her recommendation. An excellent meal. I highly recommend Cooper's Hawk and I imagine I'll be frequenting this restaurant often on trips to KC."

  • "As always, service was excellent; lots of wine to choose from; and you'll get the opportuity to taste many wines before deciding on the one you want for dinner. The wine tasting bar is lots of fun. I dine here often and always have great food. The short rib risotto is out of this world, as is Dana's Parmesan Chicken. If you're a seafood or salad person, go for the Napa Chopped Salad or the Ginger Soy Salmon. This night I had the Crab Cakes and it's one of the few meals I wouldn't recommend. The crab cakes had way to much filler and not enough crab - stick to Maryland for crab cakes. Otherwise, it was an excellent adventure."

  • "The atmosphere was great. The food and drinks were of good quality. It is good for a group, but not a romantic getaway. We had fun with our party of 5."

  • "We drove to NM in the spring and spent a couple of days in Kansas City. Cooper's Hawk was across from our hotel and we stopped in for lunch, then wine tasting. On the trip back to NJ we stopped in for dinner. Both meals were excellent. We had the Flight wine selections each time - 4 different Cooper's Hawk wines. Bought wines in the tasting room. It is a winery, so the wines are all Cooper's Hawk."

  • "They offer a wonderful opportunity to join their club, I would recommend that!!"

  • "The food at Cooper's Hawk is excellent! We've had a variety of entrees and appetizers there and everything has been incredible! The service is always excellent! The only downside to the restaurant is the noise level - it's very loud - no matter where we sit!! But as long as you're prepared for a "not so quiet" dining experience, the food and service make it worthwhile!"

  • "This is a fantastic restaurant. I'm a member of their wine club and I'm so happy I joined!"

  • "Is a little on the expensive side, however, is well worth it. Food is excellent and have had great service every time we have been there !!! Wine of the Month Club is a good value as well. Great for 'date night' Really enjoy daytime during the week"

  • "This place is a gem. Great food, wine, atmosphere, service, and on top of all that it was VERY reasonably priced!"

  • "This is our third time as a family eating here. The service was great but the wait for the food was quite long. The waiter did a good job of bringing us water and bread to pass the time. Two of our dishes were extremely hot while the other two were luke warm. One of our sides orders was completely forgotten and then had to be removed from the bill."

  • "We love this restaurant and have enjoyed the experience many times. We were there on July 3rd. Given the evening before a holiday weekend, they were understaffed and as had to wait an hour for our wine tasting."

  • "Our group of 9 had a blast at Cooper's Hawk! We all enjoyed our meals, the service was great, and the wine was delicious. Our table was waiting for us when we arrived, which was great. Don't leave without trying the Pretzel Bread Pudding!"

  • "We had a great under 600 calorie Life Balance dinner, with an excellent and affordable wine selection, and had fun visiting with the wait staff. Would recommend Coopers Hawk for any day or night of the week. Don't wait for a special occasion and join the Wine Club."

  • "This place has potential and I am sure that some people like it, but it was over the top for me. Why do we get seated in the worst places? What is it with hosts and servers? Family next to us was rude and inconsiderate. Horrible experience. It is what it is."
    Dined on 7/2/2014
  • "Food and service was top notch, however it was really noisey"

  • "Coopers Hawk consistently serves a variety of first class food. That, coupled with wines from the CH winery makes for an exquisite dining experience. You must try it! One of the few places that are moderately priced and the entire staff is well dressed. It gives you an excuse to put on your best and have a memorable evening."

  • " The short rib risotto was possibly one of the best meals I've ever had. Wine and cheese flight pairing is wonderful. And Bryan with a beard is a awesome server."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "Went for a birthday and sat next to a loud table when I had requested a quieter spot. The loud table was smoking their e-cigarettes all through dinner which was a little annoying. Other diners were asking them to be quiet but I never saw a manager go over to them. Ordered our usual dishes and wasn't disappointed as food was good. Just a little disappointed that it wasn't as seamless as usual."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "We were basically ignored......would not recommend Coopers Hawk to anyone."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "I have zero complaints about their food. The flavors and presentation were phenomenal. The staff could be a little more attentive but very friendly and the overall service wasn't too bad. Anything the service lacked in the kitchen definitely made up for."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "Food was very good but not great and a bit over-priced for the amount you received. Also was took a long time to get our food"
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "This is our 2nd time at Cooper's Hawk. And as before, we were thrilled with the food and the staff. They offer an extensive gluten free menu and the wine selection is top notch. We look forward to dining there on every trip to KC."
