A word from Connie and Ted's
At Connie and Ted’s you’ll find simply prepared fish and shellfish, inspired by the classic clam shacks, oyster bars, and fish houses, that dot the New England Seaboard and the Western Coast.

Enjoy one (or two) of 24 California craft beers on tap, while sampling from our large variety of oysters, clams and shellfish, shucked to order, at our Raw Bar. Wind down the day with a classic cocktail at the bar, or enjoy a warm lobster roll outside on the covered, open-air patio overlooking Santa Monica Boulevard.

  • "Loved everything about it but the noise level. even the patio is loud, but not as bad as inside. the dishes are incredible…will definitely go back"

  • "The service is fantastic and the food is delicious. Will definitely be back!"

  • "food was average we sat on the patio and it was cold but they would turn the heat on for 5 mins and turn it off. all the heaters are connected so it's all or nothing. there are better places for seafood at this price."

  • "Finally we were able to book a table for lunch on Sunday. Perhaps the fact they had no availability for reservations on prior attempts had me thinking this place was more special than we found it be on our first visit. The fish while good wasn't particularly special. The chowder not note worthy but good. The notable parts of our visit were the staff outnumbered the guests at noon on Sunday, the menu is more bar than restaurant with surprisingly few choices for food but countless booze only drinks, and the prices too high for the offerings."

  • "While it may be hard to get a reservation at this restaurant at a time you might prefer to dine, the food is worth the visit. Once you walk inside, you feel as though you have been transported back to Nantucket. Food is fresh and all you would expect if you were visiting New England for dinner."

  • "The food was fantastic and the oyster selection amazing and fresh and delicious. Just one problem, we had a waitress that was completely "put out" when spoken to for any reason. Everyone remarked at the table how completely put out and rude she was and it was from the moment we arrived, so we didn't feel like it was anything we did. We were celebrating a birthday (5 of us) and we didn't let her sour attitude dampen our fun. Food was great...I would go back, but if she were the assigned waitress, I'd ask for another server."

  • "This restaurant has good food and creative cocktails but it has the most ridicules rules that even the waitstaff find silly. While you wait for a table (which can at times be a long stretch) you can order a drink but no food. Wait areas are set up with tables perfect for appetizers but - no eating allowed. You must find a spot at the bar (which is like playing musical chairs) or wait until you get to your table. It seems to me they are missing out on selling a lot of food and, for a very casual dining spot, this seems like a strange rule. Food is tasty but not incredible. The desserts are fabulous though - just don't try to have one on the patio!"

  • "First time at Connie & Ted's and it did not disappoint! Craving the Lobster Rolls & can't wait to go back!"

  • "I'm originally from Rhode Island and I love seafood (especially shellfish). Connie and Ted's does great New England style seafood. In fact it's the only place in LA that I know of that serves Rhode Island style clam chowda (and if you don't know what that is, then look it up). I wish C&T's was closer to where I live, but I will definitely go back again and I recommend it highly."

  • "We had a reservation booked OpenTable month prior, when we arrived the host said he couldn't find our reservation. I showed him my phone reservation and he sat us. Food was very average, nothing special, greasy Fish & Chips. The service was pushy, they kept wanting to take everything while we were still eating. 2 days later I got a letter from OpenTable saying I had a "NO SHOW" for this restaurant."

  • "As a Rhode Islander, I'm prepared to say that they do a nice job on everything here, including RI style clam chowder (a little cloudier than I would expect, but still nice), stuffies with chouriçe (a little too much moisture, but still tasty), clam cakes, and other New England favorites like fried clams with bellies. More than worth a visit."

  • "Casual and welcoming vibe with incredibly fresh seafood and yummy desserts. It was the perfect restaurant to meet old friends and enjoy the food and wine."

  • "While it's true they have perfected the lobster roll, get ready to dish out a ridiculous amount of money in very little time. The service came with all of the attitude which their prices would suggest. The server rushed us to the point it was uncomfortable. Minutes later we were being raced out the door, having spent over $50 on a lobster roll and one cocktail. Gorgeous design, and obviously they're proud of it."

  • "Normally I'm a fan of C&T, however this time, I slammed my head upon entering into the glass door, got a major slice in my forehead which was bleeding for quite a while. While a busboy brought me antiseptic spray to the bathroom, I had to ask for a bandaid AND not only would the mgr not even give me Tylenol for a splitting headache(legal-really), I also was never even given a contact card AND got a bill-Great job-Never again!!"

  • "I must say I did not expect too much as I am not a fan of his other restaurant but I was very pleasantly surprised. The setting was very loud but in a good way, it would allow you to meld and blend in with everyone else. The service was friendly and inviting. The sea food was both fresh and tasty and perfect to share with a table of friends. To top it all off, it was excellent value. I would love to return here and would highly recommend it."

  • "Great food, ambiance, service. Waiter was willing to accommodate a special drink request. Only thing: valet lot was full, and they told me to come back a half hour after our reservation. Would come back in a heartbeat! And seeing Joan from Joan's on Third confirmed that it's a great place!"

  • "we started with a cocktail (plymouth on the rocks) made to perfection. every bite of the scallop appetizer was amazing. butter sauce later used for bread. the tautog was a new treat for me. as described by the waitress it had a sweet fish taste, much like shellfish. salmon was also excellent. as moist as can be while still hanging together like a steak. rhubarb pie a la mode and coffee ice cream completed the wonderful meal."

  • "Our 2nd visit. Last time we were on a mission to try their lobster rolls. They were terrific, although almost too much food for me! Maybe that's because we also tried their crab cake appetizer (wonderful!) and had the best coleslaw (and yes, fries). This time, we each tried one of the many fresh catches of the day. I had the California sea bass - and it perfectly was prepared and delicious! My husband had the blue fish (from NY) - and he loved it. This is just a great restaurant. The food and service are fantastic. It is a popular and busy place - casual and energetic and a great price point."

  • "Great seafood, the best oysters in town, wonderful New England chowder, a very good experience"

  • "Packed on a Thursday night. Very casual, lots of families, pretty loud (maybe quieter outside?). Nice beer selection and cocktail choices. At least a dozen kinds of oysters and the ones we tried were delicious--as good as we've had anywhere. Lots of different takes on top quality fresh seafood and shellfish, raw and cooked. After the oysters, we had the seafood stew and the New England boil dinner. Both were great, but we wouldn't hesitate to try other things next time. Didn't have dessert, but the cappucino was exceptionally good. Also, our server (believe his name was Tom) was very attentive, accommodating and nice. We're already thinking about next time."

  • "We go to Connie & Ted's often. Usually we have fantastic service and food. The food was great, but the service was quite lacking this time. It's not going to stop me from going back, I love the place!!"

  • "The chowder was delicious! Lobster boil was perfect as well. We had a great experience. We had wine brought to our table that was sour tasting and they quickly remedied it. Attentive staff , wonderful food. A great night!"

  • "Great restaurant. I'm glad I thought to make reservations a couple of months ahead. Had to look hard for lactose free food, but there was a wonderful seafood stew........ We will go back when in LA."

  • "Hands down our new "fav" when in LA. Freshest seafood imaginable. Grilled calamari should be its own food group! We shared steamers, the boiled dinner and OMG...the lobster roll... BETTER than what we've had in Maine. Service best in town. A little noisy in general but understandable with the family friendly atmospher. This place is a rare find...upscale food, decent prices, casual setting."

  • "My last dining experience here was 3.5 hours n enjoyed every minute of it. Delic oysters, chilled crab. Steamers on small clam side but tasty. We split a steak, yes a bone in ribeye steak! And it was cooked med rare gangster perfect. Rhubarb pie finished the meal. I enjoyed their bloody Mary's, extra spicey salty, extra limey, and East LAs."

  • "This is the third time I have been to Connie and Ted's and like the two times before, it was great. The food is always delicious,(start with some of those rolls), service impeccable and the restaurant (we enjoy the patio) is beautiful. I only think of Connie and Ted's now when I want fish. Besides the great food, seeing Donato the owner in an apron , taking care of tables and customers and making sure everything is spot on, is why this restaurant is such a smashing success."

  • "Varied and interesting menu; bartenders engaging and schooled in old school mixology. Patio is a nice quiet retreat from indoor chatter but noise level inside not deafening. Great WEHO spot with an eclectic, mixed crowd of all ages! Nice to see in such a youthful town."

  • "Outstanding cocktails and appetizers. Angels on horseback are fantastic. Seafood is fresh and varied. Lobster roll with warm butter is amazing. Desserts and side dishes are also great. Everything seemed to be the freshest possible. Will recommend to all friends."

  • "Even tho we had a reservation we had to wait over 20 minutes and still did not get the banquette area we requested. Food was too salty. Service was lacking. We never received the onion rings we requested and hot towels were never brought to wipe out hands after our steamers. All of this was disappointing after previous experiences where the service and food was much better. It was extremely crowded and perhaps that is why the service was not so efficient. We saw one empty table stay that way for a good 15 minutes even tho many people were waiting to be seated. They need to get their efficiency together for a crowded Saturday night."

  • "Love the food!! They have a wonderful selection of oysters and the menu has something for everyone. The staff is friendly and service was good. The only drawback is that the room is very loud! Carrying on a conversation with other guests at your table is a challenge."

  • "The food was really good, great theme, and fun atmosphere. If you go I'd highly recommend sitting on the patio. The inside primary dinning space is really loud. It's so loud we couldn't have a normal conversation in our party of 4. The noise became the topic of conversation, and was beyond distracting. Interesting that a brand new restaurant would use all hard surface; everything else was so well thought out."

  • "Went there for lunch after having been there several times fir dinner . There were approx 15 guests on the restaurant around 1 pm. Am on a special diet and the waiter said we were at the wrong restaurant for a diet and wouldn't even ask the chef if he could accommodate us in any way. If it wasn't a biz situation we would have left. I love this restaurant, but will probably not go back."

  • "Have had to cancel twice in past two months and I finally made it Wednesday. Great food, loved being sat by the kitchen. Clams with bellies was very good. Loved the chowder sampler and I gotta say that the Rhode Island clear may be my favorite. Excellent grilled lobster, too. Huckleberry Whoopie Pie was fantastic and wish I would have brought home a half dozen! Server very nice, helpful and welcoming. Super warm hostess. Can't wait too get back."

  • "We had a party of six and everyone really enjoyed the food and the entire restaurant experience. The Cobb salad, greens and asparagus salad, dinner rolls, true Atlantic cod sandwich, oyster sandwich, true Atlantic cod dinners, and crab cakes were all excellent. The clams with bellies were pretty tasteless and the batter was not crisp. I lived on Cape Cod for over 5 years, and the clams (both steamers and fried) were no where near as good as on the Cape. Perhaps, it was an off-night (Sunday) or the cook just didn't cook them properly, but my wife and I were disappointed in the clams overall."

  • "Excellent service, food and relaxed ambience. The patio is much more comfortable and less noisy than the indoor part of the restaurant. Best fries, cole slaw and onion rings ever. I like the lobster roll so much I haven't tried anything else. Reasonable interesting wine list is appreciated. Wish I liked beer."

  • "But not at all what I expected. Much more modern than any clam shack I've ever seen in New England! The clam chowder was fantastic, both New England and Manhattan. The cole slaw was fresh and delicious, as was the mac and cheese. Both were a 10, no question. But the lobster roll, the reason I went to the restaurant, was on the disappointing side. I think the lobster was undercooked, and even though there were big chunks of lobster, it really had very little taste. Basically, underwhelming!"
