A word from Comida - Denver
We are a funky, not overly precious but delicious neighborhood joint filled with the flavors we have come to love over the years while visiting family and friends in Mexico. The food served at The Comida Cantina is filled with tons of flavor and richness. It is, however, authentic to the basic flavors and presentations of Mexican food only to a point. The rest has all been created out of a desire to try new things with these flavors as the base. Our roots are based in street food. Little bites, affordable, quick and delicious. Comida is food that makes people crave it.Continued

  • "Went on a double brunch date and Comida was perfect! The food was great, sensible portions (we left full but not stuffed), and the ginger-infused mimosas and agua fresca were delicious. Loved our server; he was energetic, fun and attentive. We'll be back again!"

  • "The food was fresh, delicious and varied. We tried several tacos on the menu, the best being the shrimp. We sampled three salsas, the best being the habanero pineapple. We had a special of grilled asparagus with a poached egg and the meat of a pig's cheek that was delicious. My margarita was made with jicama and other fresh juices and was refreshing and tasty without being too sweet. The flan and ice cream desserts were excellent. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. A great, fun dining experience!"

  • "This place has good street tacos (accept for their vegetarian tacos) & the cocktails are exceptional and creative that's it. Service slow, unfriendly (even though they LOOK like they're friendly). The alcohol comes out slow, the food comes out slow blah, blah, blah. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone accept a person who is a wannabe cool person or a suburbanite who thinks they are city dwellers (which Denver is full of)."

  • "The food at Comida is excellent! And drinks are fun as well. This place is worth the trip to RiNo!"

  • "We had a great time - nice modern vibe and the food was wonderful in an upscale casual way. Service was perfect and we never needed to ask for anything. Also very reasonably priced. The noise level was on the loud side, still able to have a conversation, but if you are looking for a quiet spot, this is not it."

  • "Comida has it all - hip location, uber cool setting, professional, friendly & efficient staff (from the hostess to the wait staff) and best of all, killer comida (or food). The carnitas tostadas are an out of body experience. And all this at a VERY reasonable price. One of my new favorites."

  • "Comida may be hard to find, but it's not hard to love. This Mexican restaurant is a bit off the beaten path. Their specialty is antojitos (little cravings), otherwise known as small plates. I recommend this trendy restaurant at The Source. I only hope that being a little hard to get to doesn't cause its demise."

  • "You have to divorce yourself from what is going to be 'traditional' fare as the chefs are very creative. Just let go of what you think 'eggs benedict' should be and you'll probably be very happy. Our waiter explained the menu very well, which was helpful."

  • "I did enjoy the food, but the service was a little too laid back for me. Our server wasn't all that engaging nor did he seem like he wanted to be there. That being said, this is definitely a current hot spot, as it was packed for a 6pm reservation. The hostess sat part of our table, then didn't know about our reservation when the other half of the party arrived. Carnitas tacos were great, as was the bacon and jalapeno dish. The steak tacos were probably the table favorite"

  • "This is my third time eating at Comida and it is just getting better there! This place is so good and the food is just amazing. We are still raving about this dinner and how much we enjoyed the entire experience. The Source is just a great spot for Comida and it makes for such a great dining experience. From the drinks to the food we just love Comida! Keep up the great job and we will be back real soon."

  • "Good tacos but the sweet potato side was to die for. Waitress was great and went above and beyond. Definitely good for foodies."

  • "Because I have PLENTY left over from eating there last night. Everything there has much, much more salt in it than is required to accent flavors - every taco, every tostada, every quesadilla. It's a neat venue, but all 6 people in our party concluded that each item had been salted beyond an inch of its life. Hopefully, someone in the kitchen introduces the idea of "proportion" to the line cooks."

  • "Excellent brunch! We all were very happy with our orders. Our only complaint was that the bloody marys were sweet rather than spicy and salty. We will definitely go back."

  • "we stopped in at Comida in conjunction with a trip to Crooked Stave and were very pleasantly surprised at the great food and reasonable prices. you expect a place with a trendy appearance to be overpriced but with the a la carte pricing of around three bucks a taco, this place is spot on. Try the pork carnitas, they are absolutely amazing!"

  • "Love Comida. Feel so fortunate to have them in my neighborhood. They are not afraid of spice, so if they tell you it's spicy, it definitely is. I highly recommend the pineapple habenero margarita! As a gluten free diner, I appreciate all the options on the menu."

  • "the nice part about comida is that you can order a little bit of everything on the menu. But, if there is one thing you must order, get the nachos. Best anywhere. it's very casual, easy to get to, easy to park your car, food comes out similar to a sushi platter except with mexican treats. easy on the budget - we were a party of four and food and tax was under $70, and we took food home."

  • "I had dined at the Comida truck, at the Longmont location and final made it to The Source for a casual Valentine's Day dinner. The food was great as always and The Source location lived up to the hype. Will be back again soon."

  • "Generous-sized tacos, griddled tacos, gorditas ordered sushi style and served on a large rectangular plate for the whole table. Many vibrant tastes and big enough to cut in two and make substantial portions to share"

  • "When the food is this beautifully crafted and executed, who cares about atmosphere? A million hipsters boy-choiring Bon Iver in perfect irony would not have taken away from the sheer joy of eating what was at once authentic Mexican flavors and textures and innovative north-of-the-border composition and preparation. Even the blood orange cocktail screamed authentic, despite all appearances. Duck confit sopas? Are you kidding me? I was about to explode when I left, because the mouth said sí when rest of the tracto alimenticio was crying tío."

  • "While the food was good but nothing spectacular, the margaritas alone were something I would return for. Among the table I was able to try 4 different ones and loved all of them. Being from the South, however, I did favor the spicy ones which were surprisingly well balanced. Service was quick and friendly."

  • "We chose Comida to treat our out of town visitors and it was such a hit! The building in which the restaurant is housed lends itself to a very unique experience; it was fun to walk around visiting the other establishments while waiting for our drinks. Service was awesome! We had a waiter who knew how to take great care of his guests. We. were checked on by the manager as well. The drinks and food were all well timed in thier delivery. We sampled some pepper (jalopeno and harvenero) based drinks - they are not for the meek at heart! The salsas and tacos and even the rice and beans were flavorful and tasty and we enjoyed all of it; it's a good idea to ask for less spice if that is what you prefer. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "The open, market place vibe of The Source is wonderful and something unique for Denver. Every distillery and restaurant and bakery that shares the massive space reinforces one another with their local artisan specialities. Comida is a casual hot spot with a laid back and informative staff. The food and margs were fresh and delicious. I wish the lighting was a little less harsh, and a little more cozy. Will definitely return!"

  • "Four of us had a very nice meal at Comida on a Friday night. It was a little crowded but we had reservations so no prob. It's located in a large, old building with a big, open area with a few nice little shops and at least 3 bars and restaurants. Very lively and good energy. The food is mostly small items: tacos, tostados, gorditos, and quesodillas so you can try 2 or 3 different dishes. They were interesting and tasty. The best to us were the Sirloin Situation taco and the Rajas y Crema Gordita. There were many more than we could sample. And the prices are nice, too. With drinks and two items each the bill was only $45 per couple. It's not a handy location for us but it's a quick ride from LoDo. We'll be going back."

  • "This is a great spot, food is great, service is great I don't see it as a date spot but if you want to be seen I the Denver food scene it's perfect. The open atmosphere gives it an urban café feel and can get very loud!"

  • "We overall enjoyed our meal because the carnitas tacos are tasty but we had so many silly mistakes to our meal. First we ordered 2 appetizers right away. They were completely forgotten about. One of our party ordered a drink that was undrinkable and returned it. And then we ordered 3 desserts. 2 were great, the 3rd was coconut cake and it was so hard and old it was truly uneatable. The waitress did take a couple things off the bill but I'd rather have the food we ordered!"

  • "We eat out a lot and find most of the food in Denver to exceed our expectations. Comidas food was a little boring. The flavors were un-distinguishable. I ordered the special which was scallops and everything on the plate tasted the same. I think the competition in Denver is steep and they could have more interesting combinations of food. Just because it's spicy doesn't make it exciting. I would recommend it because it has an interesting atmosphere. The Margaritas were very very good. Maybe it needs to be thought of more as a happy hour place."

  • "Located in a unique setting akin to The Ferry Building or Fanuele Hall, Comida is part social experiment; part hip urban hangout. Set alongside and under the same roof as a microbrewery, a local distillery, a neighborhood market and one of Denver's most upscale restaurants (Acorn), Comida is a part of the future of Denver. It must be seen (or is it scene??) to be truly understood. Let's leave it at that for the setting. As to food, small plate mexican dishes served family style with varied and subtle spices, reasonable prices, great bar selection. The waiter could have defintiely shown a lot more patience with us newbies who didn't understand the subtleties of the menu, instead acting impatient us and with all of the surrounding tables."
