A word from Cigar City Brewpub
Cigar City Brewpub opened April 1st 2013 with the simple goal of giving Tampa great food to go with great beer. Our menu is a little Cuban, a little Southern, a little Italian and all Tampa. We aim to provide a welcome and casual environment for our guests to enjoy a good time with their friends and family.
Our mission is to offer a handpicked selection of the farmers’ finest wares highlighting locally sourced and humanely raised meats free from adulteration such as hormones. This dedication to local purveyors and sustainable practices combined with small batch, house brewed ales, hand crafted cocktails and a celebration of Tampa’s one of a kind history, cuisine and culture inform all we do at Cigar City Brewpub.

This is a brewpub, and I don't drink, so... Purely based on the food I would give it three stars. It seemed like a lot of things were upcharges, and thats kind of annoying to me. For example, the only side you can get for free with your burger are their house chips (which unfortunately were terribly bland). But that being said, it was still a good burger. The others in my party really enjoyed their beer too. I think this is a great place to go with a group of friends. They have a nice ambiance here IMO.

We made a reservation and the hostess seated us at a high top table right by the entrance and the very noisy bar! She never even asked if we would prefer a table! I returned to the hostess stand and requested a table. She told me next time you make a reservation make sure you ask for a table in the request box! I told her this was our first visit and I did not know that it was necessary, I did not bother to tell her I thought she was rude! Our server asked if this was our first visit, we told him it was but he never bothered to tell us anything about the restaurant! Why did he bother to ask if he had no intention of telling us about it? The food was good but not out of this world! I don't think we will be returning!

We came in on a Thursday for some drinks and apps and ended up ordering a few rounds and a couple meals. The beers are really good, and the food is very tasty. Service is great too. We hung out for a few hours and never felt rushed. I had an issue with my Open table account that the GM went out of his way to fix. My husband tried a range if beers, liked them all, but his favorite is the hotter than helles. All the food was good, and reasonably priced. We had: Yucca fries: tasty Chargrilled cesear: I was pleasantly surprised at how good this way (w/out dressing) Tomato bisque soup: definitely recommend Blue cheese burger: super tasty Our friends our vegetarians and loved everything they had.

fresh local ingredients! beers and ales made right on the premises. too many different items on the menu we wanted to try. I know because we tried....chicharrones, stuffed piquillo peppers, empanadas of the day...wonderful choices and all with their own great flavor. BBQ burger was very moist and cooked to my perfect rareness and stayed together without running out onto the roll. tasted like meat too! what a concept kale salad was perfect. nice young tender kale with a dressing to offset the tartness of the kale. wonderful. macaroni and cheese perfectly cooked pasta and cheese sauce stayed just right until the last bite. didn't get runny or harden up. didn't have room for dessert but would have gone for the bread pudding.......next time

My first visit to Cigar City was amazing... this visit was okay. I recommend that you do not get the chicken. We ordered a chicken Caesar and a chicken sandwich. Both were average at best. And both portions were very small. Compared to the exceptional burger and sausage we had the last time, this was a let down. The beer, however, was still exceptional.

Still hungry after $30 Creative Loafing dining special. Afterwards, looked at main menu, and cost for our 3 items would have been less if ordered from menu. Overpriced, child-like portions, and 4 oz beer pairings not to our liking. Would rate a 2.5 star for food. Would not return. Unlike last year, we dined at Capital Grille which was and still is awesome!

My family came here for dinner on a Sunday night recently. We had reservations and were seated promptly. However, the service after that was beyond slow even though the restaurant was not busy. The waiter did not come by our table to take our drink order for at least 15 minutes. 2 in our party never received their appetizers after everyone else had finished their apps. Our beer orders for each course which did not come until some or most of each course was already eaten. When I asked the waiter about our first round of beers, he told me he forgot to put the beer orders in. In terms of food, the food was delicious. We tried the empanada, shrimp & grits, & rope vieja. The beers were great too. Most of us liked the cider with the warm weather.

The food was good and the beer selection obviously amazing. However, our server was slow and also didn't put one of our orders in correctly. It wasn't worth mentioning and we didn't get charged for it but it may have been helpful for her to write down the order. The piquillos appetizer was delicious!

Stopped in for Mother's Day; have been aware of the brewery but hasn't tried any. Arrived early so we sat at the bar and had a beer waiting for the rest of the group. It's the quality you'd expect from fresh and local brew. For dinner the group ordered the oyster po-boy, veggie Cubans, two burgers and a charred romaine salad. Reports on the burger was it was over-salted, the Cuban was an odd mix of sweet and savory as well as mushy, and tr salad was good but small for the price. We'd return for the beer and maybe some appetizers, and enjoyed the ambience. I personally enjoyed the experience, but I wouldn't consider it a particularly novel or memorable experience.

We weren't sure what to expect about the food based on reading other reviews. However, we were quite impressed with the quality and taste. We ordered the shrimp with grits, and braised short ribs entrees. Both dishes were flavorful and portions were just right. It isn't an extensive food menu, but there is something for everyone. My husband ordered a beer sampler which consisted of four types of beer about 5-6 oz. each. He loved it, especially for the price! The atmosphere and decor was much nicer than we expected for a brewery. It was more a restaurant than pub/bar. Would definitely recommend giving a try.

Well thought out menu w/good selections, reasonable prices esp for haapy hr specials (arrive before 7pm) great beer (of course) really enjoyed my beer flight (not on menu? So glad I asked about it!) Recently remodeled & decor is perfect for a brewpub very comfortable we brought our young son but didnt feel out of place as there were a few other kids there I had shortribs very tasty although a little fatty my only suggestions is that cooks should taste the food before sending out my risotto and veggies were good but underseasoned and there were no salt & pepper shakers on our table enjoyable overall & we will be back to support an independent locally owned biz

Quiet Monday night (after 8:30 p.m.) but good food and service nonetheless. He had a brown ale called Paulina Pedroso and she had a glass of Pinot Grigio (a bit too cold) over a shared crab mac and cheese Appetizer. Delicious! Continued with entrees: panzanella salad so fresh and crisp (part of the small plates menu -very smart!) and brown ale braised short rib over a bed of risotto for regular appetites. Too full for anything else: we shared a glass of sweet home brewed soda called Root Cream. Wow! That is good stuff! Would go back for drinks and food. Loved the decor, all wood and beer theme.

Really enjoyed eating at Cigar City. I just moved back to Tampa and couldn't be more excited to have a super legit micro-brew label here in the bay area! Being able to drink a freshly brewed beer is a treat and the Jai Alai here is as good as it gets. As if the beer isn't good enough, the food is adventurous and rarely disappoints.

Waitress didn't really visit the table other than to greet, drop off drinks, or drop the check. Another girl checked to see how the food was, and prebus the table. Should have tipped her instead. But drinks were great, food was even more amazing, definitely coming back.

Visiting Tampa to see family and talked the wife into joining me for a trip to Cigar City brew Pub. The waitress took time to explain the different beer selections to me and the food selections to my wife. I had the crab macaroni and cheese and my wife had the Cuban. We interacted with several of the wait staff and they were all friendly and helpful; the proverbial 'service with a smile'. They all seemed genuinely happy to be working there. Not being able to decide which beer I wanted a pint of I order 2 'flights' of 4 beer samples (4 oz) each to get maximum exposure to the beer list. Loved them all! My only regret is that I live so far away that I can't come back often to try the other dishes or sip some more of the different brews.

We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and were escorted to our waiting table. The drink list was wonderful and it was hard to choose. We had 2 orders of the Crab Mac and cheese, the tomato bisque and the cheddar beer soup. Both soups were exceptional. I was skeptical about the cheese popcorn on the cheddar beer soup but it was a welcome and unique touch. The tomato soup was really rich and when forced to choose between finishing the soup or the crab Mac and cheese the Mac and cheese won! It was cheesy without being covered in sauce. The lump crab meat was piled on and the toasted Panko bread crumbs added just the right amount of crunch. We raved about this for several days after our dinner at Cigar City Brewing.

Great restaurant--amazing food for all you foodies out there!!! And beer--don't get me started--great selection to choose from. My only qualm is the layout is a bit funny--large tables in the middle. Also would be nice to hear some music..maybe bring some bands in??? Crowd is a mix of of those dressed in shorts and flip flops, and then others dressed up...not sure where this restaurant falls...maybe it's just the area?
