Diner Reviews
  • "My 4th dinner here this year. It's a fabulous meal all round."

  • "We had a wonderful birthday celebration at Chandlers. I had the best steak I'd ever had in my life. Our waiter was Andrew and he was excellent. Simply amazing! The music was at a perfect level and oh so good! What a great find. We will be back!"

  • "Absolutely the best. Always consistent in delivering delicious choices. We always look forward to an evening at Chandlers!"

  • "My wife and I looked forward to returning to Chandler's to celebrate our anniversary. Now, typically, Chandlers is spot on with regard to all components of the dining experience, tonight was hopefully an exception. First, my wife ordered a dirty martini that tasted like the bartender used equal parts vodka and olive juice, undrinkable. Next our oyster appetizer came, my wife was the first to dive in. She described a flavor beyond unappealing, I tried one, I thought not the freshest oyster ever but certainly as dreadful as she portrayed. Then I tried my third oyster and tasted what she spoke of, we sent it back and at that point felt bad for the restaurant. Now, they comped our oysters and gave us a dessert on the house. Server great!"

  • "We went to Chandlers to try the Sunday menu and we were not disappointed. We both ordered the prime rib and it was fantastic. If you love beef, get there early as they run out. But it is well worth it. The service is excellent and our every wish was granted! This restaurant aims to please every diner! The portions are just right. They do not overload you with potatoes or other side dishes. We will make this our "go to" restaurant."

  • "Excellent foodie experience, the mushrooms are to die for. Took too long for our waitress to make contact with us, we were actually looking around for someone to see if we had even been noticed. Long time between courses and it was not very busy. Wait staff rarely checked in on us and had to ask bus person for things. Food was good, not impressed with service for the price we paid for the dinner."

  • "Had a very enjoyable Sunday evening. Great dinner, wine, & light jazz. Prix fixed menu so reasonable"

  • "first , wait team awesome, ambiance wonderful. service 10 out or 10. food was wonderful . I could go on , I am sorta an escargot "snob" in order of greatness. the plumed horse in Los Gatos Cal, then Mine, I got the recipe from plumed hourse bqck in 1980-81 . best in the world though in at Lescargot restaurant in Paris. (I have tried Escargot a least 40 times in Paris. so this statement is great for the chief. ;yours is # 3-4 on my list from above. love the little dishes and the asagio cheese on the top. I am done. we had a great experience,, thanks Dr. schwam"

  • "It was my Husband's birthday, and he requested Chandler's. It was our first time to go to Chandler's, and we had heard good things about it. He ordered the "Cowboy Cut, Ribeye" and it was very tough and grisly. We sent it back and the second one was just as bad. We accepted it, and brought it home for the dog. I had the halibut and it was very good. The service was great and the ambiance was very good as well. But for the money, it wasn't worth it."

  • "Beautiful and comfortable restaurant. Dress is as you want. Some of the best seafood quality and preparation I have had anywhere. NIce jazz combo starting at 8PM but noise level did not interfere with conversation or ambience. Wide variety of menu items from steak to seafood and good salads and desserts."

  • "Always a favorite. Great place for special occasions and for special friends and relatives"

  • "The dining experience was amazing. One of the best steaks I have ate in my life!!!!!"

  • "This is our 3rd or 4th time at Chandler's. The restaurant is lovely inside, the service is great. The prix fixe menu makes it more affordable, although w/ wine and a cocktail, even though I used the prix fixe menu, dinner for my wife and I was over $200. That being said, the food was wonderful. I had the "duck 2 ways" and it was great. My wife had the halibut, and it was great. For special occasions, it is thus far our favorite in Boise."

  • "Fantastic, great place for anniversary dinner. Service was great though bussers were a little to anxious to pick up dinnerware. Seafood was gourmet delicious. Seat near Kevin and Sally was good to renew old friendships. Did not feel rushed to turn over seats to others."

  • "We enjoyed the Prime Rib from the Sunday Prix Fixe menu. We were served an excellent great meal at a great price! The drinks, Martini's and red wine were excellent, as was our server! Chandler's has become our "go to" spot for dining and for taking any out of town guests for a fabulous meal and evening."

  • "Love the valet parking, great service, and did not feel rushed. We liked the piano playing in the background and the view of outside was great. Everyone seemed happy to work there!"

  • "I've dined here several times. Weak points: Catering large groups (service extremely slow and food quality not as good as for regular dining--this was my experience over a period of several corporate events--corporate will not return again). Uneven food quality, though still worth dining here. For recent visit, both our steaks tasted off (old). They were expensive, so this was a disappointment. Rolls so hard we couldn't eat them. Everything else was good, but desserts here, oddly, are of poor quality. Service is some of the best in Boise, however, which keeps me going back. Don't miss the Limousine salad and Gravlox. Salmon is excellent here. Skip the beef."

  • "The drinks I ordered on their iPad menu were "not available" so I kept choosing until I found one they had available. Pretty embarrassing for the server. Food was good, however I ordered a "medium" steak but received a medium rare steak."

  • "Located within the Hotel 43, downtown Boise. Excellent food and service. Walking distance to the downtowns bar scene, music, etc. Our fourth visit, always impressed."
    Dined on 6/13/2014
  • "It was an off night for service. Food was outstanding, table we were sat at was isolated when the open part of the restaurant was wide open. Waiter was condescending and argumentative at first. We felt rushed out of there."
    Dined on 6/13/2014
  • "Six of us celebrated my birthday with you and the experience was marvelous. Trey was our waiter and we could not have been more pleased with the service we received. He is very personable, very professional, very attuned to what's going on with his customers. The meal was superb and the filet Mignon put Ruth's Chris Steakhouse to shame."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "The food and service is always top notch at Chandlers.. Everything from Steaks to the seafood quality food with quality and professional service."

  • "We dinned with friends who were visiting Boise to participate in the local Ironman race. They loved the food and setting just like we do. "
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "Upon entering it is immediately obvious that this was fine dining, from the live piano, to the way the staff was dressed it looked expensive. The iPad wine menu, a wine expert that helped us find the perfect wine to order and other factors played into the overall experience. The food was the best I've ever had, and I've had very good food before, and even though it didn't look like a lot of food, we were full when we left. In the end we walked paying almost $250 for 2 with a $50 bottle of wine and a 20% tip...it was a lot...but for special occasions...it was a memorable experience."

  • "We loved our waiter Scott. He lead us to picking the right wine, described the chef choice entrees , and kept us smiling. It got a little busy, so service slowed a little. We got to hear John Jones on the guitar. Loved that. We love Chandlers. If you want to take your special person to celebrate a special occasion, go to Chandlers. "

  • "Chandlers came through with an outstanding night. Ivy, our waitress, was particularly attentive. There was live music and we were accommodated with a booth as requested. Tower of Tuna app was good, carpaccio was better. Caesar salads were delicious and the dressing was slightly sweeter than average (but in a different and good way). King Salmon was excellent, Bouillabaisse was good, but can't speak to the steaks. Sides were delicious and the night was topped with chocolate soufflé. "

  • "Food was wonderful. Ambience was wonderful. We were there for a special occasion, as it was our son's 21st birthday. The waiter was efficient, but he was a bit pushy about the wine choice, we wanted to look for awhile, and he was rushing us. "

  • "One word FANTASTIC! We had drinks before dinner then ordered steaks and veal. All dishes were the best."

  • "my husband is working in Idaho and heard of this place. It was nice but need a little work on the music(Jazz)"
    Dined on 5/26/2014
  • "We visited on a Sunday night. The place was busy and had a great vibe immediately upon walking in. The live jazz music helps that. The food and service were excellent! Certainly on par with the Seattle and Bellevue Steakhouses I have visited. We had the Delmonico and Rib-Eye. Both were perfectly cooked, an excellent cut of meat, and nicely seasoned. I usually avoid seafood at Steakhouses but I overheard a gentleman at the next table tell the server that the scallops were the best thing he has ever eaten. So next time, that's going to be on my list. Desert was a fantastic hot chocolate soufflé and a port. It's expensive but nothing disappoints. We will definitely be back many times."

  • "I have eaten at chandlers on a number of occasions and usually love it! It's unfortunate that this time was not as enjoyable. I have to say our waitress was less than helpful or attentive, she offered no information on any entrees or drinks and was not attentive at all. I was disappointed with my Ono because it was very over-cooked and tasted like chicken, my friends scallops were also overdone and she ended up not finishing. On the positive side, our cocktails were awesome as were the nice table attendants who came by often and were very nice. Overall the experience was ok, the music in the bar was fantastic and I loved the ambiance and energy from that side of the restaurant."

  • "One of the best places we have been in all of Boise. The best food, fantastic service, and mesmerizing ambiance makes for an experience that will keep us going back. Definitely a top pick on our list."

  • "This is one of the best steaks I have ever eaten in my life. Perfect atmosphere to go along with the perfect food. I recommend everyone should try Chandlers. Without a doubt best place to eatin bBoise."

  • "Whenever we have a special occasion to celebrate, we always think of a dinner at Chandlers. My husband and I were there most recently for my birthday and we were not disappointed. The food is always good and the service is the best in Boise. What I like is the fact that the restaurant isn't too noisy so you can carry on a nice conversation during dinner. This is especially important when sharing dinner with friends."
    Dined on 5/19/2014
  • "My wife and I ate at Chandlers with friends and couldn't have been happier with the food, service and ambience of the place. I had pork tenderloin and it was the best I have ever had anywhere! The presentation was very good. Everyone in our group loved their food. Chandlers has a wide choice of fresh seafood and great steak choices. The waiter was very attentive and helped us with the wine selection. Chandlers has one of the best wine lists in town and rivals that of most cities. The bar scene was active and a jazz duo provided lovely music throughout the evening. We will keep coming back."

  • "Everything was wonderful on our visit to this Chandlers restaurant. "

  • "Wow! Everything was superb. I have only one other time in my life been to a restaurant and everything exceeded my expectations (and I am pretty damn particular). I can't imagine this as a one-off event. From the valet parking, to the seating, to the waitress, to the pianist, to the food and dessert with coffee, it was all impeccable, especially the service! It seemed effortless. If anyone hasn't tried this restaurant, they need to do themselves a favor. We are going to make this a regular event for my wife and I. Is it expensive? You get what you pay for. But considering everything, it is a good value. We moved here a few months ago and have been waiting to try it. My suggestion is if you wait any longer it is your own fault.
