Diner Reviews
  • "They have the location and the flash. But the restaurant on the inside was sloppy, both in décor and manner. I will excuse this somewhat because we were there mid-afternoon and I assume everyone on staff from lunch was tired or the evening shift was prepping somewhere. But the tables were haphazard, some set, some unset. The service was OK but not what one would expect from a "multi-star" restaurant. There is not reason to return. "

  • "Our dinner was delicious. The staff was friendly, attentive and very accommodating. It was a wonderful lace to end our week in California. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting West Hollywood."

  • "Turning up to a place like Cecconi's you don't expect Heston Blumenthal at the stoves but you do expect exceptionally executed Italian to be matched by service that hits the high notes. Lining up for valet (15 mins) without even the inkling of anyone working to clear the line is your first experience followed by slack-jawed indolence with the valet staff who it seems see it as a chore to be tipped handsomely to do their job. Ours was too busy texting - head down, bottom down. 15 minutes to get a cocktail on the table; 15 minutes more to find a bottle of wine which is on their 'by the glass' list (so hardly difficult). Early twenty-something patrons loud & obnoxious. Extremely good looking wait staff. Fabulous food - try the Dover Sole."

  • "As a frequent diner at Cecconi's, I eat there because the food is absolutely craveable and they have very consistent service. Unfortunately, this time our waiter seemed a bit clueless about our drink order - it took him 2 visits to the bar and back to sort out a champagne cocktail and a lemon drop. After we placed our order he disappeared never to return. We were at the mercy of the waiters assigned to other tables. We had to ask for everything - bread, sweetener for iced tea, water refills, pepper - which is NOT typical for Cecconi's. It was a bit of a hassle and a disappointment this time around. I'm hoping this experience is not a "new normal." "

  • "Over all a very disappointing experience. Even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. Waiter was extremely rude. We asked for a wine suggestion, and he suggested a $300 bottle. When told that was slightly out of our price range, he then suggested a $40 bottle. We had to continuously ask for our water to be filled, and he never checked on us after our entrées were delivered. Finally, he presented us with our check without asking if we'd like dessert or anything else."

  • "Lovely ambiance, delicious food, superb service. Leans toward healthy food but I'd like to see more vegetarian options on the menu."

  • "We love this spot for weekday breakfast and lunch. It's a great setting for meetings or for friends to catch up. The menu is varied and healthy and delicious. Two issues we faced on this trip though: 1 - The server didn't inform us that tip was already included in the check (through Soho members discount) - so we over tipped 2 - Valet was full so I had to street park. My meeting went over the proposed 1 1/2hr. When I returned to my car I was hit with a $53 parking ticket. Not good. We would come back to this restaurant, however a little break is required to get over the 2 stings listed above."

  • "This is my second time to Cecconi's while traveling in LA for business. The scene is very energetic and lively. It appears to be a hot spot as we have seen some reality stars, etc. The drinks are delicious, I highly recommend the Eastern standard, it is very refreshing. The food is consistently tasty. My favorite this time was the eggplant parmigiana. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and very soft inside. the brussel sprouts side is wonderful and my only complaint is the size when sharing with others. The burrata and beets are also a very nice combination."

  • "Although the food was very good. We had brought a relative from out of town to enjoy a day with us in LA. What surprised all of us was our guest had asked for some toast to go along with her meal twice. When it finally came, there was only one piece, yes just one piece and slightly burnt. No butter or jam to go with it. Just a plain piece of toast. We then asked for butter to go on to the toast but the time the butter came the toast was cold. We may think twice before returning."

  • "I invited my friend, my sister and her four year old son out to dinner. We were seated in the outside covered area in the front over the restaurant. Our waiter, Marco, was very good with my nephew and talked with him and interacted with him as well. We were very appreciative of that as it put everyone at ease and my nephew felt included. The food is always amazing as I seem to be a regular and the service and experience was excellent."

  • "Cecconis is a perfect lunch spot. Its great for invinting guests from out of town. The food is simple, well prepared and good quality. The brunch is fantastic! They take great care in preparing every detail perfectly. The tea and coffee service is fabulous. The only think that needs more improvement is their wine list."

  • "Having a short holiday in LA and the restaurant was recommended by a friend. Had a table booked for 8.45 but didn't get seated until around 9.30, by which time my friends and I was beyond starving. Once we were seated we found it had quite a small menu. The venue was smaller than I had imagined from images on it's website. It was also extremely loud in there - great for a drink but not the right place to try and catch up with a couple of friends - couldn't hear a thing they said to me without shouting - won't be going again."

  • "I've typically had great experiences at this restaurant. This time, we had horrible service. Waited an hour for the check, then 20 minutes for the car from the valet. Food was good as always, but the poor service dampened the evening."

  • "Service was not great, hostess was indifferent about our long wait. The place itself is excellent, great ambiance, decor, food, wine list, etc. Just the service was sub par."

  • "Went with my husband last week, we were seated at a small table in the bar area which was fine at first, but got a little uncomfortable as the bar got crowded and people were standing close while we were still eating. The food was great though, we had the whole spicy chicken which was delicious, the breadsticks given at the table were also yummy. The grilled octopus was good, but not amazing. I would definitely go back as we live right around the corner and request a table in a different location."

  • "All was good at my favorite restaurant, but the service has been consistently lacking! With an ambience as beautiful as this establishment, you would assume the service would be as such. The only time our waitress was smiling was closer to the point in which our cards needed to be charged."

  • "I've been coming to Cecconi's for a few years now. It is a regular stop everytime I visit LA! Food has always been consistent and service has improved! The ricotta cakes are a must for breakfast! But everything on the menu is delish!"

  • "It was a bit too noisy especially since this was a first date and we had a large party seated next to us....although the whole restaurant seemed to be noisy. Great service."

  • "The attitude when the restaurant is only half full is ridiculous. Pretended to be sold out even though I had reservation. At least 6 empty tables the whole time. The waiter had an attitude. On the other hand the busboys were great. They made me feel important even though the waiter couldn't be bothered. The food as always was amazing"

  • "I took a client there for lunch, at the client's suggestion. The food was oustanding - a chopped salad followed by the salmon on the menu, cooked rare at my request. I now have a new place to go. Also they have a front room that's half-outdoor - with retracting covers for large openings in the ceiling/roof - and was perfect for lunch on a lovely L.A. day."

  • "I took my Sister in law for brunch here for her birthday on Saturday. The service was HORRIBLE. It took forever to get waited on, and our finished plates sat in front of us for an eternity after each course. We ordered another mimosa before dessert, which never came, but they put it on the bill anyway . I had noted on open table that we were there for a special day, and they never mentioned it or made it feel special at all. We had a 12:30 reservation, arrived closer to 12:45, and didn't leave until 3:15. The other tables next to us came and went. The food was very good, but not good enough to go back for bad service. There are plenty other restaurants with better service and equivilent food to eat at instead."

  • "Once again Cecconi's doesn't disappoint. Having eaten many meals in Italy and being from Chicago we love Italian food. Cecconis is by far the best Italian restaurant in Hollywood. We have now been there over a dozen times and we have never been disappointed. It is a must everytine we are in LA. The staff is friendly and knowledgable and the ambiance is fantastic. That being said, the food is always the highlight of the evening. The grilled octopus is the best I have ever had. I would also highly recommend the Branzino !! Best I've had since Positano. If your ever in LA, do yourself a favor and check out this restaurant. Worth the trip and every penny."
