Diner Reviews
  • "This was a return trip. We arrived early but were seated promptly. We eat here at least once on every trip to Vail. We enjoy the cuisine which is always excellent. We can recommend anything on the menu. The service is always friendly even though we have never been here when the place wasn't packed. We will return."

  • "Had our first wedding anniversary at this place. Great food, was attentive to why we were there, and even gave us free appetizers since it was our anniversary. A great spot for special occasions. We will be returning. "

  • "Fun restaurant and REAL Italian food. The Chief is fantastic. Not particularly romantic because it can get a bit noisy.... otherwise fantastic. "

  • "This was my first time here, but I will for sure be back. Our table had the risotto special & papparadelle for entrees. To start, we had the proscuitto & pear and the polenta appetizers. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is charming and the service was great. Truly great all around!"

  • "Food is impeccable. Wine is exceptional. Service & decor need work. Our meal came after 20 min yet still before our appetizer and the tables are squished so tight that I had to sit on my hat and carry my purse on my lap through the whole meal because they were knocked off the corner of my chair when I hung them there."

  • "We stay in Vail at least 4 weeks every year and would never consider missing dining at Campo de Fiori. Judging from how packed the place always is, there are a lot of others who feel the same way. In our group we enjoyed spinach salad with caramelized onions & toasted pine nuts, and classic Caesar salad with anchovies. Pasta with vodka sauce, osso bucco, pasta with roasted vegetables and their famous grilled marinated seafood salad appetizer (way enough for a main course after enjoying a salad first). Do not miss this grilled seafood... it is fabulous. I've never had anything elsewhere that even comes close."

  • "I had dined here at the "first seating" 6pm with a great meal and ambience. It was a different experience when we arrived for our 8pm reservation and waited for a half an hour to be seated at the same time as many tables. The waiter was brusk taking our order and eventually relaxed when a number of earlier tables exited."

  • "Great for a couple or group. Love their pasta dishes...that extra notch up in quality/flavor! Try: butternut squash ravioli, mushroom ravioli, sausage and mushroom parpardelle. I want to go back...but I'm not in Vail anymore :( Delicious salads also!! Next time, I'm trying entrees - I'm betting this chef puts out great flavors across the board. This spot is a bit loud..not for those with hearing issues. Good for kids...vibrant atmosphere and what kids doesn't like pasta? Our server - Nina - was informative, professional, timely, and made me want to smile. Excellent. The wines by the glass lean towards Italian for obvious reasons - I would have appreciated some more California choices as Italian "classics" aren't my favorites."

  • "Every year for the past 10 years my girlfriends and I come to Vail, we always have dinner at Campo de Fiori. The food is very good and the service is one of the best in town. Highly recommend the homemade pasta dishes."

  • "We had an early reservation that began around 6:30 p.m.. Pedro was our waiter and he was awesome! Very attentive, very energetic, he was happy to answer questions, explain the menu items and recommend a bottle of wine! Pedro is there creating customers for the future of Campo de Fiori. We're looking forward to returning!"

  • "We last dinned at Campo in March. It was somewhat disappointing then. However, it appears to have gotten its edge back. The ravioli funghi was very good along with the pazza salad. The seafood linguine was very good as well. Campo is still a go to place for high quality italian food in Vail."

  • "Every parent knows, when you score a babysitter and you actually get to go out spend time together...the destination can`t be a dud. There is no room for error on date night. Well Campo delivers the good with flying colors! My wife and I had a blast, great food, amazing wine, the time just evaporated and we were all smiles. Mira the hostess is a total gem! Everyone made sure we were happyand comfortable. Here is to date night success! CHEERS"

  • "My wife and I were staying at The Sebastian and wanted to just walk to dinner. Campo Fiore was close but it surprised us on how good it was. We were thinking a casual night out and had a SPECIAL night instead. If you want to get "lucky" go to Campo Fiore."

  • "Food is good and the 30% discount as for the off season was even better. A noisy restaurant that produces good quality food."

  • "Very good pastas. I would certainly go back on a regular basis for the pasta dishes. Good but boring salad and soup. Good wine list. Solid choice in a town with a lot of good restaurants. Slightly loud and slightly fast make it better for when you are not expecting 2+ hour lounging meal."

  • "What a vibrant place to go to dinner. We went for our anniversary and had a fantastic time. We also went during restaurant week and the menu choices available were more than generous. It was so good we went back the next night to try something different and all choices were delicious! I would recommend Campo de Fiori to anyone!"

  • "We dined for the first night of Vail Restaurant week. The menu was wonderful, service was great, ambiance very nice. We eat there frequently when up in Vail and would recommend as long as you are ok with a more noisy space. We love it."

  • "The restaurant was hard to locate, but the ambiance and food was top notch."

  • "This restaurant was recommended by a friend as one of the top notices for Vail Village. Restaurant week gave us even more options and the wine recommendations were excellent. Service was top notch - from the hostess to the bus person. Highly recommend the butternut ravioli. Just the right amount and rich and complex in flavor with browned butter and sage. Great ambiance!!"

  • "Food was very good. Listening to a hundred people trying to scream over each other was not. I know some people like that scene, but I won't go back."

  • "The food we ate was excellent (Bolognese gnocci, romana salad, mushroom raviolis) but the overall service was so rushed, it was difficult to truly enjoy the meal. It seemed like they were more interested in just turning the table over really fast. Also, the lighting in some areas is poor and there are no candles on the tables, making it difficult to read the menu. We also felt the menu needed some more selections with protein. I loved our salad but thought the dried pancetta in it seemed more like fake bacon bits. All other food was great, but would have loved to seen more fish, chicken and meat dishes."

  • "My husband and I picked Campo de Fiori because of the other reviews here. We've been to Vail numerous times and have never had a meal here. Everything was perfect and delicious, however, I ordered the steak and was disappointed to get what felt more like a steak salad. There was a generous portion but my steak was served in slices, roped with a heap of arugula. For $36.00 I would expect a solid cut of beef. Why? Because the steak does not maintain its flavor and tenderness when sliced. I was so disappointed yet felt unable to complain given how wonderful our server was. My fault. But you all should know.. All else was tasty and its worth a visit!"

  • "We had a wonderful evening. After realizing that we would be quite late for our reserved time, we called the restaurant and found that they were very nice about working us in when we got there. They even said, "Hi, welcome back!" since were were return customers. Fine insalata caprese, scallopino di vitello and dessert, plus great wine choices."

  • "I think her name was Lorrie (Laurie) but our server was exceptionally attnetive and engaging and fun to be with. Our service was totally attentive inquiry - like they were mindreaders. It was obvious they wanted us to have a great experience, which we did -both times.. We found the prices reasonable (that's an oxymoron in Vail). The pasta was obviously home made or shipped in directly from "Mama Luigi's Kitchen". I can't rememember commenting on how great the pasta tasted on top of all the dishes that were obviously made from scratch on site and seasoned perfectly. We only ate there two nights but it was two in a row as we didn't discover it until near the end of our trip. It will be our destination any time we are in Vail."

  • "From the fun but not precious cocktails to the light as air gnocchi, Campo pleased our large group. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. The famous warm grilled seafood salad was tender and pleasantly smoky, but needed a touch of salt and a big squeeze of lemon (provided). The option to get two half plates made choosing the pasta--many expertly homemade--even more fun. Can't go wrong! Best desserts were chocolate mousse with beautiful berries and subtle and elegant pistachio gelato."

  • "The salad and ravioli were just perfect. All four of us had scrumptious food and we each ordered something different."
