A word from Bramble & Hare
Bramble & Hare, the original Farmhouse Kitchen and Pub, opened its doors in July 2012. Founded by Chef Eric Skokan and his wife, Jill, as the sister restaurant to their Black Cat Farm~Table~Bistro. It is named with two things in mind; their 1925 farmstead, Bramble Hill, and the artful agility and cleverness of the Paris cabaret, Lapin Agile, in Steve Martin’s play Picasso at Lapin Agile (agile rabbit.)

The huge variety of produce and meats grown on their farm allows Chef Skokan a limitless palate of flavors, colors, and textures from which to build his award-winning cuisine. The Black Cat/Bramble&Hare team also forages wild produce (like mushrooms, juniper and wild plums) that root the restaurants' cuisine in the flavors unique to the Front Range region.

B&H is open for summer happy hour from 5pm-6pm, dinner and late-night (6pm-2am, last call@1:30am) every day, featuring the wonderful farm produce and meats in a casual vintage atmosphere.

Had amazing app of pork belly/ ginger relish paired with great gin fiz variation with sarsaparilla. Their cocktails are great following same vein of black cat (sister company) next door. Entree was an amazing vegetarian English style pie. Great for food lovers and cocktail lovers."

  • "My friends and I do a monthly "dinner club". Each month my husband and I travel from Boulder to Denver to meet the group out in their city to try out fantastic restaurants. This month we finally did Boulder and I was so proud to have Bramble & Hare represent! We had a fantastic time in your restaurant. The food was outstanding, the setting was perfect (we were set in the large table and it felt as though we had our own apartment!), our server was incredibly welcoming and fun. Overall, we had a fantastic time and look forward to the next meal we have at Bramble & Hare!"

  • "My wife and I had dinner reservations for 5:15, but when we arrived we were informed that the kitchen was behind (it was the day after Valentine's Day) and that the dinner menu would not be available until 6:00. We couldn't wait that long for dinner because we had another engagement later that evening, so we just had several Happy Hour appetizers and drinks. The appetizers were very good. We plan on returning because the restaurant is charming and the food is likely very good, although we will make a later reservaion next time..."

  • "We did enjoy our night out at the Bramble and Hare. I feel a little limited in appraising our evening out here as it was a fixed menu for Valentine's Day. I don't feel like we got experience the menu. The meal we had was good, the dessert was very good, and portioned very well, it was very tasty, not too much, not too little. We are planning on coming back when the full menu is available."

  • "The food was very good, but I made the reservation at Bramble&Hare specifically based off their reasonable prices on the regular menu. There's no reason they should be able to raise their prices by a solid 50- 75% just because it's valentines day (without posting that set menu online so that people could know the difference). We could have gone to Flagstaff House for that amount of money (and flagstaff house would've been much better and not let a whole group of people stand right up against our table talking loudly for what is supposed to be a quiet dinner). Few options on the menu (only 1 option if you're a vegetarian), crazy crazy expensive, and disappointing service."

  • "This place is amazing!!! The food is out of this world...or maybe exactly the opposite...it is so good because so much of it comes form so close to Boulder. In response to reviews about the service...I found the service to be not "slow", but offered at a relaxed pace. I really enjoy this! Everyone is friendly, but not in a hurry. Rest assured, however, they are diligent and helpful. Thus, if you are the kind of person who is constantly in a hurry, or you have somewhere to be, save this gem for a time when you can just relax and savor the amazing food. To truly enjoy this place, just take yourself out of your American, fast-paced, on-demand mindset. Sit back and relax with some of the most delicious food available in town!!"

  • "If 'farm-to-table' means a very limited menu, Bramble & Hare hits the nail on the head. Perhaps because it is winter certain proteins and vegetables are in limited supply. The quality of the food was O.K., but far from exciting. Perhaps the summer fare offers a far wider variety. If you have a difficult time choosing among options, Bramble & Hare may be the place for you."

  • "We were so excited to check out Bramble and Hare but sadly our servers were almost absent and were rude. We had to continually ask for things like silver wear or napkins and they seemed put out when we asked to order food. When our dinners arrived they were cold and none of the food was exceptionally delicious. It's quite a cute little space, but sadly the service and the food were a let down."

Rustic tables, mismatched china and cutlery, low ceilings, and an upright piano make you think you've been transported to a small village road house somewhere in Europe. A profusion of hand crafted drink choices present themselves with curiously entertaining names. Particularly noteworthy was a rift on cider with applejack, rye, and a couple more liquid libations just for good measure, this concoction was a perfect blend for a crisp fall night. Our dinners were a melange of winter vegetables presented in flavorful creations. Desserts were impeccably surprising and sweetly satisfying. We will definitely be back for more!"

  • "My friends and I dined here during boulder first bite. We were really excited for the delicious-sounding menu, but then it came out. The beet salad was served on what appeared to be ageing iceberg lettuce. The second courses were all equally disappointing, and served with a side of very tough escarole. Dessert was good, but nothing to write home about. Service was very attentive at first, but then disappeared completely. Because we were a large group, the gratuity was included, which is understandable. What wasn't understandable was 21% for inattentive, slow service. We will not be back."

Food was bland and portions were small. Staff was very friendly once we were inside, and the dessert was fabulous. We will likely not go back, however."

The menu was somewhat limited, and it as not made clear to us that we could order any single entree or appetizer a la carte - i.e., not in the 3-course meal option. The drinks were strangely complicated, but tasty. The atmosphere was nice--festive and filled with happy couples and small groups. We enjoyed celebrating our special occasion there, but we wouldn't go back."

  • "Had in-laws in town this past weekend and wanted to bring them to a new place in Boulder. Wow did we pick the wrong place! From the beginning the meal was off. The very limited menu was hard to a party of 8 to order off of as it's "sushi" style (i.e...you pick what you want). They messed up the entire order and the food came out at random times...so nobody ate together. Additionally the food was either under spiced or way over spiced (no salt or too much salt). So of the food was way over cooked and other food was way under cooked. Really bad experience, would NOT recommend to anybody."

  • "I kept thinking I was in a village in Wales. Bramble & Hare's ambiance is like many pubs we've experienced. The look is part of it but the sense of a neighborhood gathering place is what they've captured. It was busy without being frantic and had a perfect auditory threshold. Among the 4 of us, we chose several small plates and had wine, beer and cocktails. There was something special about every bite and sip. The service was attentive without hovering and too much information. We left refreshed and plan to return soon."

  • "Truly exceeded expectations! There was a mix up with our reservation and we ended up sitting at the bar, which turned out to be the best place to be! Griffin the bartender was simply outstanding. The room was packed and clearly he was under a lot of stress and still he gave us amazing service and took the time to answer all of our questions and chat about the food, which was all fresh off their farm. Another bonus of sitting at the bar was that we could see everything being prepared in the small kitchen. One of the chefs (sadly I forgot her name) periodically popped her head out to tell us about what we ordered, which was all amazingly good and reasonably priced. It is clear that the people who work their have a passion for the food!"
