Diner Reviews
  • "I took my friend to lunch at Bouchon to thank her for taking care of our pets while we were out of town. I have only been one time before, but I really enjoyed it. We shared a salad, we each got a lunch cocktail, my friend got the BLT tartine with their amazing fries, and I got the moules frites (more fries, and BUTTER). Everything was tasty and their mussels presentation rules - there's a gate in the bowl to make room for dipping bread in the sauce. The service was perfect and it's a nice spot to feel like a rich Beverly Hills power luncher. If dessert is your thing, do NOT go home without pastries from the bakery downstairs. One complaint: they need better signage for the garage and for the bistro (upstairs from the bakery)."

  • "I took my parents there for their anniversary and they loved it. The food and service were impeccable. I highly recommend it for brunch or lunch. It's also a great place for a bridal or baby shower."

  • "Been here several times but the last visit was different. Service was slow and absent for most of the time as if we were forgotten. We were one of the first tables outside and its almost as if they didn't want to come out there. The iced tea we ordered came out at the end of the meal and one of the items we ordered didn't show up at all. They didn't charge for the iced tea and the missing item was removed from the bill without question. To get a refill on my water was a challenge as well. Lastly, when we paid the change back was incorrect - in our favor which we alerted them to - but still out of the norm from past experience. Food was excellent, per usual."

  • "Finely crafted French bistro fare with superb service in contrast to the snooty service one has come to expect from certain Beverly Hills restaurants."

  • "I've been to Bouchon many times for dinner, and finally had the opportunity to try their weekend brunch. I am very happy I did, and highly recommend it. The food is excellent and service very good, as you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. We ordered the pastry plate to start, as they are known for their bakery, and I have to say that the perfectly baked flakey goodies should not be passed on. All of our meals were outstanding. I ordered the corned beef hash special, which was excellent. I tasted the Bouchon waffles, which are the best I've had in quite a while. If you like a drink with your brunch, forego the customary Mimosa or Bloody Mary, and order the Bouchon martini. It is like summertime in a glass."

  • "Expensive and with food so bad both my wife and our guest left their entrees uneaten. The waiter did not seem to care the food had so disappointed us. Will not go back."

  • "Been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time after impressed with French Laundry years ago. Had drinks and salmon appetizer at happy hour on ground level patio before headed up to restaurant for dinner. We had some more wine during dinner, special melon soup plus entrees salmon belly and steak. Food was pretty bland without any memorable favors, and french fries had so much salt that our option was to leave them on the plate. In addition got overcharged for a drink, that just convinced us for the price of the happy/hour + dinner evening, we can certainly take the business somewhere else."

  • "We have not been to Bouchon for a while and now I understand why. The food was really bad, my mussels were not fresh and very small, my husband asked for the steak frite and they brought him a filet mignon and when he asked, the waiter insisted that this is it. Our maître D' never told us that there were any specials that night and by chance I heard another maître D' informing the table next to us about their dinner specials, after we had already ordered from the menu. it is really a shame that Bouchon became so bad, we went on Friday night and it was relatively empty and now I understand why."

  • "Bouchon is one of my favorite restaurants in Beverly Hills. The food is excellent, the service is always stellar. We had a wonderful summer melon soup and our server was wonderful. Can't wait to come back."

  • "Great burgers! Couldn't ask for a better burger! And the truffle fries were divine. The brownies and ice cream were pretty scrumptious as well! Our server, sweet lady with an Australian/English (sorry) accent was fantastic. Super sweet and funny. Lots of great recommendations. We'll be back again!"

  • "I am a huge fan of this restaurant and have been a patron here for a number of years. The food tonight was not so good. I thought it was off. Every restaurant deserves a little slack. The service was very good and the ambience is always great. It's a nice departure from the gaudiness that can be Beverly Hills."

  • "What a lovely restaurant. The food was delicious and the ambience was really beautiful. We ate there for brunch on Father's day so I'm sure it was busier than usual, and despite the large groups, the service was terrific and the staff was courteous and helpful. Everyone in my party ordered something different and they were all super tasty. I also really liked the availability of outdoor seating overlooking the courtyard. It was so pleasant and quiet. We booked it through OpenTable since I had forgotten to make a reservation until the day before and it worked out perfectly."

  • "Delicious Father's Day dinner--seafood platter, Bouchon steak, gigot--all beautifully prepared. We sat outside to escape the din and loud music inside, and the heat lamp worked well. The only downside of the evening was the friendly but very lackluster service."

  • "Beautiful restaurant with great outdoor seating and very attentive service. My salmon was perfectly cooked and was complimented by an interesting assortment of vegetables. I would difinitely visit again."

  • "...about this restaurant! The food was mediocre at best...but my server Roody was amazing. He was attentive and made great recommendations....I just didn't really enjoy my meal. The meal of my friend was no better. If I can easily make a dish at home, it shouldn't be served at Bouchon!"

  • "I really enjoyed the ambiance of this place. The service was good, though not extraordinary. They served us complimentary brownie and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream for my fiance's birthday. The food was a bit salty -- frites, as well as french onion soup, but Sea Bass dish was pretty amazing and flat iron juicy and tasty. I would go back on an occasion and maybe sit outside in the balcony, too. It would have a great view out into a courtyard in Beverly Hills."

  • "Bouchon is one of my favorite "go to" restaurants for special occasions. Great food and service."

  • "This restaurant is beautifully appointed-lofted ceiling, bright, airy and no detail spared on the physical space. Just too bad it is ruined by poor service and attitude problems, not to mention probably the worst music playlist I have ever heard in a nice restaurant--enough to ruin the meal. The food here is fine French bistro food--well done for middle of the road French food. This was my third visit in three years and while I hope it improves each time, it never quite crosses the finish line for me. All of this would be forgiven if service was spot on, but this restaurant truly seems to suffer in that regard. The assistant manager gets a special shout out for an intolerable attitude. I am really not sure if I will be back."

  • "This restaurant did not disappoint. Elegant atmosphere without being stuffy. The wait staff fusses over every little detail and the food was perfection. A wonderful place for a special occasion or if you just want a quiet, civilized brunch or lunch."

  • "I'd been wanting to try Bouchon for sometime and thrilled that I made the reservation to celebrate our anniversary. We were treated like royalty and treated to champagne and dessert by the management. The service is impeccable. Friendly, yet reserved with several people always fussing (in a good way). The wine list is extensive with many french wines available. Love that! The menu is Bistro fare and delicious. The onion soup is dark and rich and topped with mounds of yummy cheese and the watercress and endive salad perfectly dressed. I had the lamb sirloin special served over divine ratatouille. The frites are addictive! And the dessert! Mon dieu! We''ll be back sooner than next anniversary! Thank you Bouchon!"

  • "Budget and Beverly Hills cannot be in the same wish list category. My friend and I made the mistake of going to this place for a lunch. They are famous for their french fries which, to me, were very salty. Diet coke was flat, salad with my quiche, too salty. My friend, who was paying on a strict budget, was buying. We were offered some swallows of wine to test and she eventually chose one, had a glass, ordered another glass. It was not until that night going over her bill that she noticed the charge for each glass. $35. Needless to say, she was angry, frustrated at herself for not having the guts to ask the price due to where we were, etc. Lesson learned. Disappointed "

  • "Bouchon Bistro has the charm of a Parisian bistro. We chose to eat on the balcony overlooking a plaza and the Montage hotel. The service was attentive without being intrusive. We started with the special, sauteed crab leg, and and the endive and watercress salad with Roquefort and walnuts, lightly dressed. I had the flat iron steak and frite with shaved truffles and a maitre d'hotel butter, tender and tasty. My date enjoyed the moules with truffle frite. The cherry sorbet captured the tart flavor of the fruit and the chocolate cake served with Strauss dairy ice cream was delicious. The ambiance of Bouchon is romantic and charming."

  • "Major foodie here. Love this place. Thomas Keller is a genius. The chicken and waffles -- something I would never, ever order someplace else -- is to die for. The chicken is so flavorful and well presented. The waffles are just slightly savory, but you can douse them in real maple syrup if you so choose. Herbed butter completes the scene. Also had the chilled melon/coconut soup. Interesting. A bit sweet and sieved to make it very thin. Beignets for dessert are a must. "

  • "My friend and I went specifically to have the fried chicken (Mondays only) and found that they only serve it for lunch. We were very disappointed and made that known to the staff, and someone spoke to the chef, who said he would be happy to make it for us for lunch. And everybody went way out of their way to make sure we were happy. We were so impressed with the service, the care, and the food was some of the best we'd ever eaten. Absolutely 5 stars on everything."

  • "Every restaurant has off nights I suppose. Distracted service and a cold steak just shouldn't cost this much. I've had great meals at others of their restaurants, so I think it was probably just a one-off bad experience. But for these prices off nights should almost never happen. "

  • "I know Bouchon could be so much more! The bakery and bistro downstairs is good for basics but the restaurant upstairs is wasted space. Such a great space and yet so under-utilized. I have been there for brunch and dinner and the food is lacklustre at best. And over-priced for what it is. "
