  • "I should have ordered the shrimp salad- it's always excellent! But this time i decided to try something different, so I got the Health Nut salad. It sounded great on the menu- scallops, apples, dried fruit, blueberries, etc. Yum! But when I saw it, I was disappointed. For one thing, it was small- almost like an appetizer! The fruit was cut up so small, one couldn't make out what it was! Everything was diced to death! There were 4 decent, though slightly undercooked, scallops. The greens were sort of parsley-ish, but it was the fruity stuff that was the problem. There were 2 blueberries on the salad, and the rest of it was unrecognizable. I learned a lesson- stick with the shrimp salad!"

  • "As usual, an excellent dining experience (second visit this week). Relatively recent appetizer, heirloom tomato with watermelon, an avocado basil purée and pecorino, was beautifully presented and totally refreshing to the pallet. Signature Bluestone Salad, crisp and crunchy. Fried green tomatoes piled with lump crab, perfect for lunch. Tasty grilled salmon was complimented by a delicately dressed salad with capers. Our group of three completed lunch by sharing a chilled slice of tangy, not too sweet key lime pie. No disappointment here!!"

  • "Out to celebrate a friend's birthday and to catch up on some girl time. Food was wonderful--fried green tomatoes to start, Chilean seabass for the entree, and crème brulee for dessert. Wine was good, too. The waitress did not rush us, and we were able to chill after dinner to enjoy our drinks, and each other's company. We will definitely visit again!"

  • "We have been eating here for a few years now. It never disappoints. I usually get a fish dish, since they are known for their outstanding fish preparation. But this time the rib dinner caught my eye on the menu. When I questioned the popularity of the ribs before making my decision our waitress Jill told me they were great. She was correct! And she was also a wonderful server. Thanks Jill!!They were moist and delicious and I can't wait to go back for more. My husband loves the shrimp tacos and the ahi tuna appetizer. With so many choices of restaurants out there, this place has stayed true to their high quality of food and customer service. We appreciate that!"

  • "When I made the reservation for dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday, I made a special request for the quieter area of the restaurant. It was a Wednesday night and they could not accomodate that request, even though it was made several days in advance. We had difficulty having a conversation because of the noise. The food for everyone was good. However, my asparagus were slightly tough and I didn't like the whale crab dish that I ordered. The crab dish was probably good but I was trying something new and it just wasn't my "cup of tea." Our waitress, Kristen, was excellent."

  • "I have nothing but nice comments to make about BlueStone. The server we had was very well trained and very pleasant. Good service. The food was on time and hot. My filet was cooked just as I had asked for. We were allowed to sit and talk, not rushed thru our meal at all. I always think this is important. I will definately be going back."

The server had an attitude from the start and even finished by looking at the tip I left on the receipt (15%, Very rare for me to tip less than 20%) and slapped the book closed in front of us. Although cooked to the proper temperature, the filet mignon had no flavor which was quite a disappointment given the price tag."

  • "Our party of five had an enjoyable experience. My sister had eaten at Bluestone before, but it was the first time for the rest of our family. The service was good and food okay but... I ordered the steak (medium) & crabcake. I thought that the crabcake was excellent but the steak was undercooked a bit. I guess that I should have ordered medium well. On of my brothers ordered the Crisfield stew, which looked delicious and I will have that the next time I visit."

  • "Over all the restaurant was fair. Food arrived lukewarm and the Maryland and cream of crab soup was way too salty, so were the garlic mashed potatoes. Steak was prepared appropriately but not seasoned well. Crab cakes were good. Maybe its was a fluke because people who have gone love the place. Just my experience I guess."

  • "Bluestone was a wonderful place for dinner. It is tucked away in an area of small businesses and very light industry buildings. The service was top notch, very attentive without being overbearing. The crab cakes were lump crab with no filler and were delicious. They were accompanied by a corn pudding that was creamy and just a touch sweet, and steamed asparagus that was tender but not over cooked. My husband had the filet and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. We would absolutely go back again."

  • "We haven't been to Bluestone since moving out of the Baltimore area 9 years ago. We just returned for a visit and the restaurant is still excellent. From the appetizers (Fried green tomatoes with lump crab meat!!) through the entree's (Lump crab meat on swordfish) to the reasonably priced wine list we enjoyed everything. The restaurant has maintained its quality. The crab meat was superb, moist with no fillers or cartilage. We will definitely be back again the next time we return to Baltimore."

  • "Our second visit. First was lunch which convinced us to try dinner since it was so good. Dinner with friends and we had excellent meals, service and the prices were right. Sundays they have a $33.00 special three course dinner. Choices of any entree plus some dalad, soup and dessert choices. Great bargain. Would highly recommend."

My entrée was cooked perfectly, a feat in and of itself and complicated by having to time it with others dishes. The food was fabulous.   • "Family, Friends and Restaurantures consider me a true, experienced, Foodie ... but let's keep this simple. If a customer orders the 'Special of the Day', there should be a few EXPECTED outcomes. First, the food should be FRESH ... Second, the meal should be prepared with a quality level to supercedes the restaurant's normal fare ... and Three when the manager comes out to appologize that the meal was not up to standard, they should not offer for you to eat it for they will give you the meal at half off. REALLY????? I am speechless."

  • "The plus is definitely the food! I've been there for lunch and dinner. If you want to have a conversation with your companion, go for lunch. At dinner the volume is loud. It may be an advantage to try to request a room where they are not having groups of people. We were in a room with two large groups. "

  • "The food and table service are really excellent, but they have a hole in the wall closet behind the bar that they must think is romantic. They wanted to put us back there where the light of day probably has never been seen. And when we asked to be placed out by a window, the hostess made a comment something about "the hole" (my characterization) being the only place she had for us. She did relent reluctantly, but don't let them push you around. We were there at 5PM and the place was not full by any stretch of the imagination."
