  • "We were vacationing in California and my husband wanted a nice steak dinner. Black Angus had good reviews so we tried it. We enjoyed the food. The lighting was a bit dark though. The kids menu was nice and came with a sundae included which was a nice incentive to get the kids to eat their meal."

  • "My husband and I try to get to Black Angus a few times a year as a date night restaurant. In the past it has been very pleasant. However, we have noticed that the service is a total crap shoot. You might get a great server, or someone you never see. That was the case with our last server. We were there with our kids, for our son's 19th birthday. My kids love steak, so this was a treat. Our server was so slow! It took 20 minutes just to get our drinks. Then we went through 2 loaves of bread before we finally got our overcooked appetizers. The main entrees were just ok. I've also noticed a decline in the quality of the food. Too much fat on the prime rib. Only half is edible. Such a shame."

Black Angus...that type of name in most places means a good steak place, but not so. Service was good, food quality was ghetto, just like the location and clientele. Lower your prices, by like half!"

My aunt is 98 & hard of hearing, but with being put in an alcove, the noise was minimal & she was able to enjoy the conversation & dinner. She thoroughly enjoyed her prime rib dinner, taking part of it home. Thank you for keeping up the coupons, especially the feast for 2. Great bargain. Appreciate it sincwe the economy is not doing well. We are able to enjoy a nice dinner out more frequently. It was nice to be able to make reservations online."

  • "Black Angus is not our usual choice for a good steak. But in keeping tradition, we have been taking our daughter there during the Valentine's time for the past 15 years. This year their boyfriends joined in the tradition. What we didn't expect was the quality of steaks they are now serving. My wife and I both ordered the Rib Eye. He steak was more like a breakfast steak with no flavor and very bad color. Though mine resembled more like a steak, the flavor was not to be found. Same could be said for 2 others in our party who ordered steaks. Though the service was good and the garlic cheese bread is excellent, I cannot recommend if you are looking for a good apiece of beef."

  • "I took my friend and her daughter out for Valentine's Day. I made reservations about 3 weeks in advance. Traffic was heavy and I called the restaurant and they agreed to hold the table. We arrived about 5 minutes late and were seated about 5 minutes after that The menu includes not just steaks but also chicken and seafood, and a large selection of side dishes which ranged from relatively unhealthy (garlic mashed potatoes) to heathy (green beans or broccoli). The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We even shared a dessert-which was HUGE--could have easily been shared by 4 people or maybe even 5 or 6."

  • "I have been going to the Santa Ana Black Angus for at least the last 30 years. I have worked in 5 different restaurants, and a night club, so I know good service and food. I have had not ONE bad experience here. The steaks have always been delicious and cooked exactly as I ordered. The other foods ordered were always fresh, hot, and exactly as portrayed in their menu. The staff has always been courteous and efficient, and I have NEVER over waited for service or the meal. The manager "Brooklyn" always seems to able to come to our table and ask , and make sure everything is all right. The food is ALLWAYS consistent and this is the only steakhouse we go to. Great food, great service, great management. What else could someone possibly ask for."

  • "Never in my 26 years had I visited a Black Angus and neither had my wife... so having received a coupon we decided to give it a try. And boy were we Wowed. From the appetizer to desert each serving portion was more than enough. We have used coupons before but it's usually half a portion with a very limited selection to choose from. Food taste was awesome. Next time we are trying something different and bring a couple of friends with us. Only down side in my opinion is the music choice. Country isn't really my thing."

  • "Overall good food and great service. Don't normally eat prime rib because it is not very good. This was an exception, 3/4 cut was more than enough for dinner. Added mushrooms which were very good. Had a wedge salad which is large, fresh and flavorful. Service was very attentive. Really liked the horseradish, good and strong and a great add on to the prime rib. Good local option for steaks and prime rib at reasonable pricing."

I enjoyed my salmon, my husband gobbled his filet with blue cheese, The bread was warm and crusty. Shared the chocolate cake, yummy!"

  • "My wife and I haven't been here in over a year due to consistently bad experiences. We tried again and met with the same less than satisfactory experience. We ordered identical meals and cooked the same way, medium. My wife’s was literally rare and we had to send it back. When it returned, it looked like a blow torch had been taken to it. Additionally during the meal several people came over and stood around our table looking at lights. I mean maintenance during dinner? Finally, this location always makes you wait regardless of whether or not there is a crowd. We had a reservation, the restaurant was half full, and we still sat for 7 minutes before our tablewas ready. There are other Black Angus's that treat you better."

  • "I always order the prime rib at Black Angus, but this time we had received an email coupon for their special steak, lobster and shrimp dinner, so we both ordered it. It was very good, though the lobster tail seemed to have been frozen. I especially enjoyed the grilled artichoke appetizer. Much as I enjoyed this dinner, I will go back to ordering my prime rib next visit. I prefer the prime rib here more than at any other restaurant."
