Such a variety of food choices was a huge plus for my diverse party, and there was definitely something for everyone.. I made my reservations on line and the process was flawless. They were even able to honor my special request of a window table. The last few times we have had our counter parts from Canada come down to visit our bakery in Roanoke I always suggest going to Billy's. So far the last few people that have come from Canada and have ate at Billy's rave to there folks in Canada how great the food is and the wide variety of wine and beer you all have. So anytime anyone comes down I always take them to Billy's. The waitress's you all have are always so sweet and that makes a huge difference too. We had Teresta (sp?) She was wonderful. I have had some other female waitress's and they also have done great job. We could not have chosen a better place for dinner! We had a great 3-cheese dip for a starter, and then house salads----all good. We ordered two beef fillets, a rib-eye, and a New York strip. The steaks were incredible! Billy's wine list offered a nice variety as well. Our waitress, Tiffany, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and attentive. Towards the end of our dinner, she brought complimentary flutes of champagne and a delicious white chocolate cheesecake that we ordered for dessert-----best ever. My aunt and her two children have always been "mall" eaters and rarely venture outside of the Valley View Mall area when it comes to chosing a dining establishment. To my surprise, and I believe theirs too, Billy's met and far exceeded their expectations for food, atmosphere, service, and quality. We had ten for dinner and had exceptional service and the food, without a doubt, was delicious. Double-cut, bourbon glazed and grilled to perfection (medium), it was paired with smoked cheddar mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. I also ordered a side salad with restaurant-made honey pecan vinaigrette dressing. A great meal and a great place to entertain business guests from out of town. Each of the four from different major cities around the US (New York City, NY; Charlotte, NC; Minneapolis, MN; and Los Angeles, CA) They were all equally impressed as well with the small, hometown feel with the big city vibe. Two of our guests had seafood. It was a snowy Sunday evening, but there were still lots of customers. Service was good, but the meal could have been better. We ordered prime rib and crab cakes. The food was warm, but not hot. I wish the prime rib had been more flavorful. I'd give the meal a 7 on a scale from 1 to 10. The "smashed potatoes" were so delicious. Service was excellent and we felt the staff really enjoyed serving us. We did not have to wait long at all for the food to arrive. The food actually looked quite elegant and the atmosphere was just delightful. Purchasing ManagerI was concerned in the begginning after hearing from a friend that the food was not as good at the begginning of the week due to the better chefs not being there till end of week when it is busier. I do have to say everyone loved the restaurant and the food was great! They all were glad I had picked out the restaurant for the occassion. Some of the individuals were from Canada and raved about it the next day. The other few people were from Richmond and said they would have to come back to Roanoke just to come back to Billy's for another dinner in the future.
I had been to Billy's prior to this event several other times and the food had always been good too.
