Diner Reviews
  • "Celebrated our daughter's 16th birthday. It was truly memorable for her and us. Warm professional greeting (by Tom) and service (by Jeff), plus many others. Food is spectacular: seasonal, varied and culinary skills are on display. Superb!! Beautiful setting, high in mountains, deer grazing in the meadow. Could not have been better."

  • "We went to Beano's to celebrate my husband turning 50 with just the two of us. Beano's is our favorite restaurant in the world for its wonderful ambience and special place in our memories. This was another great memory produced as Beano's just recently reopened for the season so it was not even half full and by the end of the night, we virtually had it to ourselves. The food was delicious as always, but come hungry as it is a multi course meal and you feel quickly with the rich, seasonal foods. We got a fabulous bottle of wine and with the guitar singer in the background, had a wonderful night capped by our own waiter singing for us."

  • "Fun sleigh ride to and from the restaurant. Very novel. The restaurant's ambiance was warm, cozy and VERY romantic. We loved the "lodge-y" feel - who doesn't like an antler chandelier?? Outstanding service from the minute we walked in. The food, however, does leave something to be desired. At $115 price fix per person, our expectations outweighed our actual dining experience. Not to say the food was not good, please do not misunderstand this. It was just not excellent given the price. As foodies, my wife and I expected a gastronomic experience, and Beano's left us a bit short in this department. It seems that Beano's attempts to offer a sophisticated dining experience, however, they just don't seem able to achieve that level."

  • "From the late sleigh ride arrival, the mud snow falling from the sky and the Disney like atmosphere on the sleigh this will be my first and last trip to Beano's. Although the food was OK, the price was too high for the quality. Service was good, but this is a one time meal for me. The sleigh ride up and back is in an open sled pulled behind a snow cat. Not too bad on the way there, but did not enjoy the diesel fumes in the air on the way back down the mountain. There are so many other excellent restaurants in the area to dine for a lot less money."

  • "Excellent Dinner. The atmosphere is always wonderful. Best to take the sleigh ride at the 7:30 hour if you prefer the more romantic time. Early hours are great for families with small children. Service is wonderful and the dinner very very filling. Love the show kitchen and the fireplace."

  • "Great food! Come hungry because there are 5 amazing courses to enjoy. Make sure to bring a few layers for the ride up and down the mountain."

  • "I was a little apprehensive about booking this, thinking it was just a high priced gimmick. It was a total great experience for our group, six adults and two children. Everything was so much fun and the restaurant was aesthically perfect for this location. The wine list was good, service was outstanding, waiter explained everything on the menu and how it was to be served to allow us to make good choices from the nice variety of fun foods available. They were unique choices and new to us, interesting and perfectly prepared for our enjoyment. The kids menu was appropriate for our Boys, age 4 & 9. It was a little pricy but totally worth the memorable experience! I would highly recommend it! Can't wait to return"

  • "With 2 little kids we weren't sure that we would be comfortable at this restaurant but the early sled times provided a very kid-friendly experience. There was a kids menu and we were seated close to the live music which was great. He took requests and engaged our kids with beautiful acoustic guitar music while we waited for dinner. Good kids menu. sleigh ride was great. very scenic. . That should just be built into the prices. Overall very special evening."

  • "Always a treat to eat at Beano's - sleigh ride so neat - overall it was almost perfect - had to send scallops back twice - cold on first and under cooked on the 2nd."

  • "Very unique dining experience. My boys loved it because they got to ride in the cab of the snow cat. But just make sure you come hungry since the 5 course meal is definitely a lot of food. Overall awesome experience and will definitely do it again!"

  • "The 5 course meal at Beano's was fabulous!! And although the food is top notch, it's done in a casual laid back Colorado way!"

  • "The food, service and atmosphere at Beano's were great. Matt, our server, was exceptional. There were more small children dining than expected for 5-course meal."

  • "Wonderful meal but Very noisy room and It was necessary to ask that the entertainer's microphone be turned down. Very expensive meal, suggest restaurant do something to buffer the sound."

  • "Staff on Carriage ride up mountain was entertaining & informative but the process needs improvement. Ponchos on sleigh were covered in snow & seats were wet. After visit, friends said we could have asked to sit on front cab- staff might have said something. 38 people all coming up on carriage at same time, but staff is well trained & attentive. Don't bring kids. Kids menu (not publicized) is overpriced at $75."

  • "this is a special treat in Beaver Creek. the Snow cat ride is a fun start (sit on right side with your back to driver so you don't get snow blowing in your face.) Wonderful setting on the of the mountain. delicious prix fix menu and wonderful music. be aware of cost but worth it for an activity while you are on vacation."

  • "The setting is dramatic and perfect on a cold winter night. Beginning with the hostess at the sled demarcation point and including the waiters and wine stewards, the service was impeccable. The wine list was impressive. The menu was limited yet diverse and interesting and focused on great American food. The rack of lamb and homemade ice cream were particularly noteworthy. The single entertainer was outstanding and was careful not to overwhelm the ambience of the restaurant. Overall, a terrific experience which I recommend without hesitation."

  • "The food is a five course meal, small servings of each. This restaurant is all about getting there and back. Dress for a very cold ride up the mountain, behind a Caterpillar, quite an enjoyable time. Live music was a nice added touch."

  • "Beano's is always a great dining adventure. This is our third time to this magic place. The new menu is great and there is plenty of choice in the majority of the courses. This time it was my birthday and I really appreciated the chocolate signed desert from Beano's. The only disappointment is always the coffee. The service is always impressive however and the overall experience is what brings us back each time. Thanks for letting me ride up with the driver - a special treat for my birthday ! Matcham, Australia."

  • "We ate here for a Special family night. A bit pricey but the service and food were impeccable. I was surprised how kid friendly the earlier Sleighs and dinner seating a were. If you are looking for a special Night out and don't mind a high price tag - it is definitely worth the Experience."

  • "DON'T PASS UP A CHANCE AT EATING AT THIS GEM. From the snow-cat driven sleigh ride, to the wonderful ambiance and live music, to the fantastic menu and wine list, this is one of the best dining experiences we've had anywhere. Period. We've eaten at Beano's three years in a row now, and plan on making it an annual rite. You do yourself a disservice by not experiencing this treasure."

  • "Very pricey but very worth it at least once in your life. Snowcat ride through the woods, unbeatable views, excellent attentive service and wonderful food. If you do it in the winter, dress accordingly because the ride up and back can be chilly!"

  • "Loved the sleigh ride up to the cabin, food was great, but be aware it's a fixed price venue and a bit pricy. Kids don't have the best options and are charged if they eat or not."

  • "We have been coming here for years. The sleigh ride up the mountain is always a unique experience (weather, Guides, animal sightings). The Cabin is always inviting with a cozy bar as you inter and pass through to the main dining room. Classic Mountain lodge is the best description and not over decorated. Our wait staff worked as a team and were very professional. Their assistance with the wine selection and descriptions of the course offerings were spot on. The meals were splendid. The presentation was delightful, and not a structural challenge. The temperatures were as requested and the accompaniments were creative and delicious. Another wonderful experience which our family looks forward to each year."

  • "My husband and I had Valentines dinner here several years ago and wanted to share the experience with my brother and his wife. Food was excellent, again. They could use some help in tbe dessert area as spruce ice cream is terrible. Apple pie was acceptable. Chocolate molten was good but you had better be a choc a holic!!! Due to tne price, it isn't something we would do on a regular basis but boy, for a special occasion I highly recommend it. Service is outstanding as well."

  • "Set up in the mountain, your experience starts with a powered cat sleigh ride up! Have lockers to put your coats and warm stuff so you're not cluttered at the table, very nice feature! Excellent 5 course meal, great wine and excellent service! Just an overall fun and romantic experience. Worth the money."

  • "I took the love of my life up to this restaurant and had the experience I hoped for. The sleigh ride up was fun and the sleigh host was entertaining and delightful. We were immediately seated and had a talented and personable waiter. We were two tables away from the fellow playing guitar in the restaurant. He was a superb musician and the experience for us was magical. The five-course meal was fantastic. We ate about 1/2 of each course, and accordingly were able to make it to the dessert course where we enjoyed the fantastic desserts. The whole experience was perfectly executed and efficient. Word to the wise thought: make sure you KNOW when the last bus leaves the bottom of the hill. We just missed it. Not fun."

  • "We went to Beano's for a birthday celebration and to off a week-long ski vacation in the Vail area. Everything about the evening was fantastic. One small criticism would be the young men accompanying guests in the sleigh. The constant loud banter was unnecessary."

  • "One of the best and most unique dining experiences I've had, starting with the cat-pulled sleigh ride to the cabin, which is located mid-mountain at Beaver Creek (try to sit in the front of the sleigh to see the village lights below and keep out of the wind; it can get pretty cold on the ride up). The cozy setting with a big stone fireplace couldn't be more special and the five-course prix-fixe meal is fit for the fussiest foodies. Our servers, Nick and Rick, were very knowledgeable and attentive. For instance, we wanted a hot drink to warm up when we sat down but the ones on the menu were too sweet, so Rick fetched the bartender who suggested a hot tottie. It was perfect. At $115 per person Beano's is not cheap, but it's well worth it."
