Diner Reviews
  • "I have not had a bad meal at Bayfront Bistro. The staff is great and the food is outstanding. On my last visit I had the beef with peppercorn sauce and it was fabulous. It's a long drive for us but well worth it."

  • "My husband and I were in the area for one night and were delighted to have found such a fantastic place. I read about it on line. My fish was soooo good (baked and stuffed with lobster). My husband had a steak and said it was greet also. We will go again when in the area."

  • "On the bay with great water views matched by a terrific menu and food that was truly enjoyable. We will be back."

  • "We enjoyed sitting outside for a delightful dining experience. It was a quiet evening and we enjoyed the sunset. They have daily specials and I enjoyed the salmon special. Our meals were alright. It wasn't a spectacular dining experience in terms of the food but the environment makes up for it. It also had the marina so you can come via boat."

  • "Dined (dinner) here several times and generally very happy with the food. This most recent visit, not so much. Cioppino was tasteless with small, barely bite size, pieces of fish, a few mussels, and no shrimp. It was $34...expect much better at that price. Atmosphere and view are terrific, service was just fine."

  • "The snapper was steamed perfectly! Polenta was tasty as well."

  • "You really have to look for the Bayfront Bistro, but it's worth it! The staff was friendly and our server made great recommendations. We ordered the Lobster tortellini and the Mahi in banana leaves. Very delicious. The outside seating had a wonderful view and the inside atmosphere was welcoming. Nice wine list too! Prices are a little high, but overall we enjoyed our meal and dining experience."

  • "The food was good, but very over-priced. I won't be racing to go back given the price."

  • "Great good! Staff excellent and friendly. Price is pretty high so take your Visa. "

  • "The food was good quality, well-prepared and well presented, which is why we went twice. The bartenders were...odd/quirky with lapses in service - we sat at the bar both times."

  • "I was a little disappointed that we were not informed of the special offered of three entries for $28.99. We had friends that would have loved to go but thought it was a little pricey. Nothing was mentioned to us we saw the brochure when leaving."

  • "Lovely lunch location! Great for Sunday brunch. Highly recommend an outdoor table. Great omelette."

  • "Lunch & dinner (before dark) is always so enjoyable with the spectacular bay view......try for a window or verandah table....booths are also good but can be noisy at dinner hour with the bar behind you......."

  • "This restaurant is deceptive from the outside but once inside and into the 2nd floor restaurant, the venue is lovely. The large dining space sitting directly on the bay is gorgeous and waterview tables are the best. Our appetizers were good, however, the Asian-style calamari was somewhat "soppy" and abit too sweet. Unfortunately two of our 4 mains had problems. The Cioppino was inedible. While smothered in a red sauce, it was tasteless and the fish contents were either old or well frozen for too long also and had no flavor. The Grouper Udon was tastey, however, the udon noodles were not udon! They were wheat pasta noodles that appeared very similar to linguine. Manager adjusted our bill for price of the cioppino. "

  • "Hubby & I showed up for an early dinner at 4:00, so we pretty much had our choice of tables. Beautiful views, excellent service, awesome food. Pricey, but worth it if you plan for it. Lunch might be a better choice budget-wise. We have no complaints whatsoever. Will go there again...Maybe lunch next time, and we'll bring some friends."

  • "Visiting from PA, decided to eat at the Bayfront Bistro for a special treat. The view is gorgeous! Not a bad seat for viewing the bay while eating. Matt was our server and he was wonderful. Very knowledgable about the menu and made perfect suggestions. The food was delicious. The clam chowder was excellent and the butterfish was a tasty treat. My boyfriend had the filet, and Matt made sure it was cooked perfect. (He likes it still mooing) It was very tender and some of the better beef I've had. All together it was a wonderful night out and dolphins were even in the bay while we were eating dinner. All the staff seemed great, but I would request Matt again when going back. He was very attentive and made sure things were perfect."

  • "The view from the upper outdoor seating is great! The soup was served lukewarm, The entrees were only average, especially for the price. The seafood pasta I could have better at home, and the grouper tasted like it had soy sauce poured over it. For the money I'd rather go to the Bay House or Pazzo. And our server acted as if he would have rather been anywhere else."

  • "Food better than I remembered. Great views. Very good welcome service - only complaint was a very long wait for entree. It was Easterand they had been busy but by the time we were sitting down there were empty tables. Waiters were aware of problem and apologized but it was still long. Lovely view though. Would go back for lunch, brunch Or sunset dining."

  • "Dinner at Bayfront was perfect from the beginning! The appetizer and salad were spaced out perfectly so that we didnt fill up too much. And our entrees were delicious. Our server was prompt, polite and knew the menu. The busboys were trained right, in that they would stop to let customers pass first, or let ladies pass first. Very gentlemanlike. The food was amazing. We will definitely be back!"

  • "The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, and the menu is fantastic. Our server lacked much personality, but nonetheless we had a great evening."

  • "Very nice waterfront location, except it faces east so you can't see the sunset which is gorgeous on the other side of the very narrow island. Food is ok, not spectacular. French fries were very soggy, so we sent them back and next batch were also soggy. Bring bug spray if you are there at dusk. There was a gecko crawling on the ceiling over my table..."

  • "Nice but poorly trained waiter in way over his head made for a very frustrating dining experience. Far too many examples to list on this review. Great food but still have a very bad taste in my mouth after this experience. Far too expensive of a restaurant to deal with untrained and overwhelmed wait staff. Feeble and uninspired attempt by management to mitigate problem followed once we gave our candid feedback. Very disappointing as there are not many restaurants of this quality on Estero Island."

  • "Four of us went to dinner at Bayfront Bistro and had a wonderful, relaxing dinner. We like to sit on the screened in porch to enjoy a great view and watch the sunset. The service was very good and our waiter was charming. It is a little pricey, but is well worth the price if you are out for a special evening."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Restaurant very busy so the waiter seemed rushed. Did not refill the water glasses and forgot to bring the second glass of wine that was ordered. Seemed pricey for lack of better service"
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "The Bayfront Bistro is pricey, but the food is excellent. My cioppino was seasoned just right and large enough to be filling but not a megaportion. The New England Clam Chowder was among the best I've ever had. My wife found her sweet potato soup and her salad were exceptional. Our friend felt the same way about her grouper. Service from our waitress, Gillian, and the trainee, Matt, was outstanding. The view of the Snook Marina and Estero Bay is beautiful."

  • "We ate here twice during our vacation as we had been there in previous years and loved it. The first time was great with great waiter and really good food. The second time wait service was slow and the order was not right so we were somewhat disappointed. We have not given up though and will return next year when we are in Florida as it is a beautiful place that takes reservations"
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "This was the first time we dined here although our friends had been here before. It was not difficult to get reservations which was a little surprising during high season. The menu offered a nice selection and all four of us ordered something different and we were all pleased with our choices. I thought some of the prices were a little high ($40 for prime rib) but the presentation of the food was excellent. Cocktails were fine and the service was good. We will return next year"

  • "The setting is nice. Everyone has a view of the bay, which is nice, even though you have to look through a thick shade of plastic. The wine list is impressive. Our server was very good. Two out of three of us were disappointed with our food. I had the special, which was Triple Tail with Lobster Thermidor Sauce over mashed potatoes. The fish tasted good, but everything was barely warm, and the mashed potatoes were dry and tasteless. My husband had another special, Bob's pork chop. The pork chop was dry and tough, even though he asked for medium, and he had the same issue with his mashed potatoes. Our friend had the Teriyaki Salmon, which she was very pleased with. The portions are very large, but very expensive. Rather disappointed."

  • "This was our first time at Bayfront Bistro and we were disappointed with the service. The food was great, but tne expense of the meal did not equate to the slow and inconsistent service we received. We would not return to Bayfront Bistro."

  • "James is the most attentive and fun waiter. Food and wine selection very interesting and would recommend it to friends."

  • "We'll be back and sure to let our friends know of this exceptional place. It was relaxing and the food was superb. the noise level was perfect for conversation and we were able to be seated even though we arrive early. Our table was reserved and ready."

  • "This was our second visit. The first was flawless in all respects. This visit was very nice, but the main course was disappointing. We both had the early bird special $29 including a glass of wine, salad, entrée, and desert. Bread and olive oil was also provided. The pork roast was a bit dry and chewy, but acceptable. Everything else was very good."
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "The overall food quality and quantity definitely does not match the price."
