The bread sticks on the table to start are kind of strange..not particularly good and not in step with rest of menu. The Barolo Salad with goat cheese I ordered was great...the Barrumundi that I ordered was so fishy smelling everyone at the table remarked about it. It wasn't good, and when the server took it away I was surprised she didn't comment on how little of it I had eaten. My companion had the pork and she said it was very bland."

All beautifully prepared, presented, small dishes with the exception of the anatra which was a HUGE plate of food. Superb dining experience with an excellent wine menu. Not stuffy (restaurant seated a man in shorts and flip flops although most patrons wore dressy casual (not many ties or coats) for a hot summer eve)."

They asked what was good on the menu and I said just start at the top and work your way down. It is all exceptional and the portions are appropriate to our eating habits. So you have earned yourself another very important guest. I guarantee you they will be back very soon with other clients in tow. The breadsticks and bread were good. We were a few minutes late for our reservation but got seated immediately without problems. Service was good, food was good."

  • "We always save this for very special occasions. This time terrific though we hadnt been in several yrs. One big complaint. For true oenophiles its tops but for the rest of us the wines are over the top expensive and daunting. We "settled" on a $75 bottle after seeing mostly $$$ for wines! Would like some more truly affordable wines. Very expensive tab overall as well.2 grt apps about $28 so before even main course we were over $100. A la carte for everything so beware. It was terrific evening but do expect to pay big for it. And it will be awesome. Someone has to pay for them to take all their employees to Italy for two weeks every year! But it shows in their server's knowledge and service and food which were were first rate. Dont miss!"

  • "So our friends RAVED about Barolo Grill so we knew we had to try it out. We did the other night and frankly, while everything was obviously very high quality and extremely well presented, I just didn't like most of what they prepared. We opted for the 5 course prix menu at $65ea + the $45ea wine pairing. Ultimately, several were just kind of weird, a couple we "good" and the main course was quite good - but still not excellent if you ask me. And several of the wine pairings were very good, but most were meh. We ended up spending nearly $300 total for 2 people and even though again, the food was very high quality and obviously done with care and craft... I just didn't like most of it. Maybe my tasted are too regular. Staff is great."

  • "We've always had good experiences at Barolo grill in the past, but hadn't been there in a couple years and were disappointed by the food on this most recent visit. The appetizer was great (calamari), but everything was downhill from there. We ordered fish entrees, and they were beautifully presented, but did not have much flavor. I've had much better fish at chain restaurants. On a positive note, we had terrific, friendly service. However, given the price, we would choose Frasca every time and probably won't go back to Barolo Grill."

In fairness, this was first night they were back after some time taken off and were quite busy but we have not been there when it was not quite busy. If you're looking for amazing food, this is the place to go. The restaurant itself is attractive, but not especially beautiful. This is really a foodie place, not a place to be seen. The only downfall of this restaurant is the cost, which is relatively expensive. But it's certainly worth it for a special occasion."
