Diner Reviews
  • "I can always count on Aya Sofia to deliver Great Food, Great Service at a Great price."

  • "As always, the food at Aya Sofia is wonderful and takes you out of the country without using a passport. Service was lacking this time which was disappointing for frequent diners."

  • "This is one of my go-to places for brunch. The best biscuits anywhere hands down! Dinner was also delicious I had pasta with spinach and feta, also tried a chicken with lemon sauce, calamari and another appetizer with cheese inside fillo, everything was amazing and there was enough that my kids ate it for lunch the next day! Service is always friendly and efficient, I just love this place."

  • "Aya Sofia is Turkish food just like in Turkey! It's not very different than American cooking so one should not be afraid to try it. It has an influence in sauces, vegetables, and healthy combinations that are so pleasing to the palate. It qualifies, of course, as Middle Eastern or Mediterranean cooking. As an aside it is a comfortable restaurant with helpful and nice servers."

  • "Aya Sofia remains refreshing and tasteful - having visit Istanbul a few months ago, the menu and smells remind of Turkey. The compliments of herbs, spice, fresh vegetables and seasoned meats leave one both satiated and desiring another visit - to taste again. Not big and not small, the space allows for a large group or side booth for intimacy. May this fine dine continue. - Manoli"

  • "I have had several amazing meals along with many delicious bottles of wine at Aya Sofia. They have great food and a great wine list. Ask your server for recommendations when choosing a bottle of wine that will go well with your entree- I have expanded my palate and wine knowledge from dining & drinking delicious wine here!! Save room for dessert!!"

  • "Our first time at Aya Sofia. Food was as amazing as hoped/expected. Flavorful and expertly prepared. I had Sea Bass that I was literally applauding as I ate, and mourned when I was finished. Turkish coffee and dessert were an amazing finale. The staff was friendly and attentive without hovering. The decor was mediterranean themed, cozy and lush, with very warm lighting. I had requested a "date-night" appropriate seat, and we received a very cozy booth, all of which are separated by dividers to provide privacy. It was very quiet when we arrived (6PM) and the noise rose to a lively level, never too loud to speak over. I would go back, and would definitely recommend."

  • "The entire experience was awesome. The food was amazing. It was truly authentic and very fresh. The service was impeccable and their timing was perfect. The drinks from the bar were great. I will frequent this place from now on. Also, ask for a booth for a much more intimate and private evening."

  • "I love different ethnic foods. Great large booths. Turkish music. Quiet. No kids making noise and running around."

  • "This was my second visit to Aya Sofia and once again it did not disappoint. Food was wonderful and the service was attentive without being intrusive. AND.... Unlike most restaurants these days it was full to capacity without being so loud you couldn't think. This was partially due to the interior design with curtains and pillows in each booth. We will return often"

  • "My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Aya Sofia. I took a little chance and the online reviews didn't disappoint. The food was excellent and the wait staff very knowledgeable. We ended up eating pretty late and our waiter did not rush us at all. Overall it was a very romantic, special evening. We will be back!"

  • "My boyfriend and I went for a date night and we got our own little booth in the corner which was great for conversation and privacy. We went for the special, which I feel like is always the best policy, and we were quite impressed. It was an Argian fish and was prepared to be easy for eating which was great. I also got lamb which was so wonderful and complex with the taste character that I was very excited. Great work!"

  • "Dinner was very good, Sam our waiter was extremely effective, quite night at the restaurant but comfortable. Sounds strange but the place was very clean and neat. Desert of shredded philo was incredible. We will be back with friends and family!"

  • "Always more than pleased with everything, food, service and atmosphere. I would recommend Aya Sofia. It is a great place for just a night out or for a special occasion. The food is always a delight and the service is the best. If you are undecided let the staff make a suggestion. You cannot go wrong."

  • "first time to restaurant. good open space for larger groups and booths that offer privacy for couples. good diversity of meat and vegetarian options. Calamari was perfect starter for meal. server knowledgeable about menu and offered good suggestions. if you still can eat more after dinner they have nice dessert selection"

  • "We went with friends to celebrate our birthdays. We were seated in a very cozy booth with curtains that helped reduce the noise from the other diners. We had a fabulous appetizer platter and all of our entrees were not only delicious but completely filling with plenty of leftovers to take home (which was good since the waiter completely forgot to bring my husband the soup he ordered). The desserts were amazing, too! We will definitely return!!"

  • "First off, this is no Applebee's. I've been to many locations oversees, to include Turkey and Greece. This "Mediterranean" food is excellent. We went the day before Valentine's Day and were sat in one of the booths. Nice and private. The wine list was pretty good, we had the Riesling as there weren't many "sweet" wine choices. We had Haydari & Pita, Swordfish Kebaps (#1) and Sarma (stuff grape leaves) appetizers, all top-notch. My wife has the lamb/beef meatballs (Kofte) and I had the "gyro meat plate" (Iskender). Again, top-notch food. I would go back tomorrow. Glad I didn't go on Valentines Day, I saw that menu and nothing we had was on there. We got the better deal!!!"

  • "I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed out meals and experience. The room was a bit loud, but the food and drink completely made up for it. Definitely suggest making reservations; we arrived early and were seated even before our reserved time. The staff was friendly and again, the food was excellent."

  • "Great atmosphere and even better food. From the App through the dessert it was a great meal. My fish, the chucabra, was one of the best I've had in quite some time. My wife's lamb dish also did not disappoint."

  • "A group of us who are traveling to Turkey together met at the restaurant for dinner. Our server was excellent, Explaining the foods and wine, what we would eat on our trip and the ingredients. There was a wide choice of food And everyone enjoyed their meals and wine."

  • "Everything you want from a restaurant. Delightful food, muni query spiced but not hot. Very fresh food, cooked perfectly. Something for everyone on the menu, meat, fish, vegetarian, etc. Great soups, salads, mesas, entrees. Surprisingly good swordfish and calamari; Turkish meatballs, etc. Sunday night special fried chicken isn't so much Turkish but Yow! it's great. Even the baklava for desert is nice, not like the usual baklava in Greek restaurants. Service is always friendly and knowledgable but not intrusive or overbearing. Just right. The space itself is charming. Perfect lighting, charming semi-private booths. We spent a few weeks in Turkey last year, and this places stands up to the best there. Authentic. All in all, terrific!"

  • "It was our first time at the restaurant. Food was amazing. But the place was too dark when seated on a table, rather than a booth and the service was spook slow.."
    Dined on 1/19/2014
  • "Food is always amazing! Depending on the day the noise level varies..week day evenings are quieter but regardless it's never outrageous. Prices are very fair..great drink options and again the food is great! We go almost monthly! I still need to try their brunch!"

  • "I can't begin to count the number of times we have driven past Aya Sofia and I have been wanting to try it for years. When my husband and I got a rare date night out, just the two of us, it seemed like a good choice. I was right! The food was great, there were lots of vegetarian options, and the service was outstanding. Sitting in the side booths is great--offers a nice amount of privacy and it definitely was romantic. We'll certainly be back!"

  • "We had a nice experience with cozy private booths, but the food was so so. My wife had the Moussaka, which I would definitely recommend. I had the seafood sampler and it was just okay. A little on the pricey side."
