   We made reservations at Zuni to attend the Roy Choi cookbook event and it was phenomenal. The staff (hostess, chef, waitress) were great. My husband and I definitely want to come back and try their food.

   Only reason I’m saying four stars is that now they’ve added an automatic 20% gratuity on top of the 5% SF mandate. I get that you have to compensate for people who might never tip, but I always tip 20% anyway, but I hate the automatic-the service definitely doesn’t feel the same, less personalized and more cookie cutter.

    April 19, 2025 Just as I was seated at my table this past Saturday afternoon, my grandson contacted me saying he'd got the date wrong and couldn't join me for lunch after all … I was terribly disappointed as it'd been several months since I'd last visited with him. When I informed the server of the above and that he'd only be serving only a single party instead of two, Damon, my Zuni Cafe server, gently touched my shoulder expressing his commiseration over my grandson's failure to join me, sincerely recognizing my disappointment. In addition, Damon, twice stopped by my table taking time to chat, not just the usual, "Everything okay?" pro forma chit chat, but in a genuine real manner. His kindness touched me deeply - an all too rare experience nowadays … Thank you, sir. Gratefully, Erroll p.s. My food was excellent !
