Service was nice. Food was ok. Prices were a little high for what it is.
Friendly staff. Food looked and tasted amazing. Clean restaurant.
We all loved Zocca. Their breakfast buffet brunch was a perfect way to start the New Year. The omelets at the omelets station were delicious, the fresh juices were fantastic and the service was perfect. Would recommend to anyone who visits San Antonio.
Our servers have been amazing the many times we have been in there and the bar this week. The hostesses needs some help or training or something. She has been the only problem to otherwise perfect evenings.
One entree was served cold, then reheated after we complained. We had to ask for remuneration, it wasn’t offered by the staff. The other entrees were so/so at best.
We had had lunch here a while ago dogs were also in the dining room....the food was fair lobster bisque was OK but lacked full flavor; my calamari misto was not good; chewy & limp....not a value for the money spent.
I was expecting a more elegant decor than what we found we arrived but the service and the food made up for it. I had the spaghetti and the meatball was out of this world. My wife had the bolognese and I noticed the instant it was delivered to the table that it was going to be too 'sauce heavy' for her and it was. She said the taste was "okay" in that she couldn't really taste the flavor of the pasta. For evening dining, the lighting was definitely way too bright and I asked the waiter to dim the lights a bit and he obliged. It definitely improved the ambience. All-in-all, a decent dining experience but not at the scale I would expect from a restaurant located inside of a Westin hotel.
Excelente la comida, muy recomendable.El precio es alto pero vale la pena y está junto al River Walk
Promptly seated for our reservation on Christmas Eve! Superior service and great food. We will return.
It’s a hotel restaurant!
Service was good!
There was a large party that made it an unpleasant experience. The noise level was very high to the point we could barely carry on a conversation. Also, the kitchen could not keep up we the order volume, because we had to wait a very long time for our meal.
While the waiter did the best he could, the food took an extensive amount of time. The restaurant was not busy at all for it to take as long as it did. Price of food and value of food were not equivalent.
Beautiful waterside dining. Staff was excellent. Food was very good, only perhaps a little pricey for what it was, but the view and ambiance made up for it.
We really enjoyed our dinner at the patio tables right on the Riverwalk! The ambiance can’t be beat. The food and service were excellent too!
Food was better than expected! Ate here twice, had a pasta dish and their chicken piccata. Pasta was excellent, chicken dish was lighter than expected, very tasty. Both meals, the waiter and manager came back to table to ask how I was enjoying meal. Very attentive service!
Unfortunately,we went here during Rock and Roll marathon weekend. We had reservations yet had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. There wasn’t enough servers so service was slow and inconsistent. People around us were provided bread, but not us.
The food quality was average. If I knew this was a hotel restaurant, I wouldn’t have booked this restaurant even we were staying at this hotel.
The restaurant was plain and drab, typical of a hotel restaurant.
Forgot the special instruction/accommodation planned for the evening.
I sent my parents to Zocca for their 50th wedding anniversary. We are not from Texas so I organized everything via email with the manager. They were so willing to help me out, my parents loved their dinner, and Zocca surprised them with a beautiful dessert to help them celebrate their anniversary. Absolutely wonderful restaurant and staff!!
A beautiful restaurant with a lovely outdoor seating area just feet away from the river. A perfect setting that I was delighted to find for a romantic dinner to proceed my marriage proposal to the love of my life. Delicious food as well, their lamb chops were somehow more delicious to taste than their excellent presentation already suggested. The staff were all of excellent as well, being very knowledgeable about their menu, courteous to a fault, and very attentive to our specific allergy concerns. 11/10 highly recommend.
My boyfriend and I decided to come here because most of the other restaurants had a very long wait. We made a reservation online and requested outdoor seating and that’s exactly what we got! We decided to share a pizza and a pasta dish. The server even separated the pasta for us. The food was hot and tasteful. Amazing food. Amazing view. Awesome service!
Very nice location and good food.
We visited on one of the busiest nights of the year on the Riverwalk-River Parade. They had a buffet with prime rib and pastas that were all really great! The staff was very kind and helpful. The restaurant is in the Westin Hotel and looks like just any ordinary mid level hotel restaurant. The ambiance isn't great due to that, but the food is wonderful!
They made our birthday celebration absolutely perfect!! They went out of their way to make us a special dessert (no longer on the menu) for the birthday boy. It was absolutely delicious:)
Great food and company!
Zocca has PHENOMENAL GLUTEN FREE food! Everything was cooked to perfection without cross-contamination, bursting with a great combination of flavor and presented with such eloquence! The style, setting, lighting, ombiance and energy of the restaurant was very comfortable and romantic. Every staff member provided us with exquisite service and treated us like family. The valet parking was a great bonus of service with convenience!
Most importantly of all, we were treated with absolute respect as a same gender couple celebrating our 15 year anniversary which is almost nonexistent in today's society. They were so amazing to dine with and went above and beyond the call of duty of excellent service! They even surprised us with complimentary chocolate covered strawberries, fancy chocolate treats and champagne! It was so wonderful to feel like a normal person ordering gluten free food, even down to the bread they served. My wife had the Pescatore which paired perfectly with the Tuscan Filet that I ordered. The flavors of both dishes worked well together in sharing bites without ruining the taste either dish. We were astounded to order a bottle of pino noir made in the birthplace of my wife, dated the year we got married! Zocca was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT in every way possible. We officially found a new regular spot to enjoy our nights eating out. We highly recommend this beautiful gem!
The service was laughably slow and there was almost no one else in the restaurant. The young man was polite, but needed supervision on prompt service. Had to ask 3 times for just a coffee which took about 20 minutes. The only reason to eat here is great gluten free pasta, which is difficult to come by. The cream brûlé was certainly from a package as it had that jello texture, not the cream one expects.
Great pasta. Large portions. Will go back again. The desserts were excellent. Highly recommended.
Service was very slow, told the server we had theatre tickets and didnt seem to care, food was cold, but we didnt have time to send it back, but the theatre plans.
Nice food but the restaurant was very quiet, no atmosphere but the food was good.
Restaurant was ice cold. Staff claimed restaurant is dependent on hotel's heating system which doesn't allow proper heating of lower level floors. Reserved table for 6 with the request "weather permitting patio table please". When we arrived table was setup outside even though the temperature there was 46F. Food was good... but service and ambiance was way below expectations. Had we not been too tired for switching the venue we would have left. Would definitely never consider going back!
The pasta dishes were too stiff on the sauce. The pasta itself seemed over cooked. It is not real Italian.
We decided to eat at the hotel and found that Zocca was not just a very pleasant spot to have dinner, right on the River Walk, but offered great food and very friendly service. We really enjoyed our evening and would recommend the restaurant to anyone. The bar is also very convenient and has a good selection of wines, beers and cocktails.
One of our favorite go to restaurants downtown. Easy to get to and quietest place on the river.
Great location but the food was cold and the poor waiter had way too many tables
I would recommend the ambience, not necessarily the food
Menu was very limited for a hotel restaurant. The pasta dish was prepared with to much lemon and overpowered the crab and sauce. The salad didn’t have enough dressing and was dry. Our service was very slow. Our waiter Jason was pleasant but too chatty. We waited 45 minutes for entree’s and a table next to us were served pasta entrees within 15 minutes actually at the same time as ours was served. Not unacceptable.
Ate 2 nd night. Waiter outside had new baby and shared way to much personal information. We couldn’t get him to stop talking and bring our dessert. We understand he needed to talk about the birth however enough!
Went on a Thursday for dinner. Underwhelming limited menu, wish that I had previewed it prior to going.
It wasn’t busy, but service was very slow. It’s a typical hotel restaurant & bar.
Nice atmosphere quite for be in the river walk in San Antonio
This was my third meal at Zocca, but the first time in about 6 or more months. I had chosen it because in my previous experiences the food had been really wonderful and the service was excellent. Tonight the service was still excellent but the food was very disappointing. Each rib of the rack of lamb was very fatty and had been, simply, just cooked ... no sautéing or glazing to give it more taste and eye appeal. The polenta lasagna “just didn’t make it” according to my guest who ordered it. She ate a small amount and did not wish to take rest home. I had gone there expecting the previously wonderful calamari with a delicious sauce (which had been on the website menu this afternoon) but it had been replaced by a dish that included calamari and shrimp, peppers and several other food entities and did not sound appetizing .. just “different” and struggling to make a culinary statement. Although it was not the fault of the restaurant, the final disappointment was that the table of 6 next to us was so incredibly loud that my guest and I could not hear each other’s conversation. I won’t go back.
Good food menu, reasonable prices, portions huge (prefer smaller), delicious! Really good cocktails but only 3 on happy hour menu. Excellent wait staff. Seating inside with good view of the River Walk and shaded outdoor tables when weather permits. Would recommend.
