Good value good food great staff 3 courses for £19.95 very good offer and good choices
We love zizzi's but Saturday evening the restaurant was extremely busy with very few staff, therefore service was slow and food wasn't the best we've experienced. Saying that the staff were extremely polite and very apologetic but because of staffing issues we would only rate this visit as good. Also we were seated right next to a pillar so space limited and it gave you the feeling of being "bums on seats as a priority" as opposed to a nice cost table for two.
Booked for my Birthday me and my boiyfriend-when arrived saw that was very busy, we have been offered a table just near the kitchen area were chef was yelling regarding food pick-up, just disturbing as place was already too loud, asked to change table, they did moved us but forgot to come back and take the order, after waited around 15 min- so we had to find one of the waiters to come to our table. Dissapointing, but in the end didn't wanted this to ruin my special day. Very impressed regarding food-just amazing. Bruschetta and Chorizo Spaghetti flavoured and very tasty.
First time at Zizzis, but won't be the last. Four of us went New year's eve and all of us had a very good, well cooked meal
Zizzis pizzas are just the best ! Great tasting, good size, different, good quality and really delicious. I also enjoyed the pasta dishes.
It was extremely busy but the chefs were doing a great job. The waiting staff were friendly and professional.
I have always had a very delicious meal at Zizzis.
Zizzi's is reliably decent. You know what you're getting. It was a busy night when we went as full of parents bringing their kids back to uni so quite buzzing but didn't feel too crazy. Our waitress was fabulous and super friendly without being fake. Manager (I think as wasn't in a uniform) was visibly stressed so a little 'short' with us at times! But it was understandable and didn't spoil the experience. Decent food at good prices :)
Excellent meal and superb service. Salty dough balls are to die for
Been to this restaurant quite a few times but food was cold and was just taken away and re heated we did get a free drink
Very average food which is over priced. Basically a restaurant chain focused on volumes rather than quality which I appreciated is what you should expect but it shows too much!!!
Someone who actually understands the food and its presentation would help
Nice Zizzi with friendly, helpful staff. It is very near the Arts Centre so very convenient. Been here often.
Despite confirmation email the restaurant had nothing to show we booked so we were declined a table and had to be eat elsewhere.
Very nice ambience with nice outdoor terrace - quite private courtyard. Always seems to be busy, although large enough. Staff pleasant. Food reliable. Worth booking especially if more than a couple.
We had a problem with our dish and it was rectified very well by the manager. Great service. Nice food
The restaurant did not register our booking but luckily there were loads of free seats. We were constantly asked if we were just having starters - who goes to a restaurant late at night to just have a starter? My starter was not as good as previous times have had it in different locations. They only had pizza and salad available as hob was down but we were not informed of this as we were looking through our menu. We were then rushed to order and it took the waitress 15 minutes to come over to us to start with. Overall an unenjoyable date night.
Always enjoy eating here. Food tasty. Nice surroundings and friendly staff.
Tasty, predictable italian food at a reasonable price. Nice location, with outside area. Busy and service can be slow. Worth booking.
reserved a table for 4 for 8pm 01/08/16,waited over an hour for our order .It was a Monday evening the restaurant was not busy. After bringing it to the attention of a female waitress I was informed the staff were under pressure and the manager had just walked out etc. Very sympathetic but not my problem. For our inconvenience they did deduct the cost of a bottle of wine from our bill. A very apathetic response to our problem. When in Exeter last year we ate frequently at Ziggys, but when I/we ever return we shall not venture here again
Nice zizzi in Gandy Street with a nice outside area if the weather is good.
As usual this zizzi is always busy. Dependable, tasty food.
This is a nice Zizzi in a back street in Exeter near to the arts centre - so very handy if you are attending a concert/event there.
Unfortunately the online booking service lived up to it's reputation, we arrived and my online booking could not be found!! Luckily there were tables free! It appears I'm not the only one who has experienced this and with a common problem noted on Trip Advisor, I would have expected this to have been sorted out by management by now!! Service was very pleasant, but could have been faster. Once again there was not enough staff on and thankfully I booked on a Tuesday and not the weekend! However, that said, the staff were very nice and the £5 tip I gave was for that reason. Pizza was just about luke warm, but very tasty and my wife's Spaghetti Carbonara was very nice and hot when served. The venue was very nice and to be honest, if the management would sort out the niggly little problems which other diners seem to have experienced as well, then this would be a top venue for dining out!! So there you have it, take note of the above and if I read that things have been sorted out on Trip Advisor then we shall certainly be coming back and recommending you to others.
Nice Zizzi near the museum in Exeter. Tasty food and reasonable prices.
Went there for a meal out. Order the wild boar pappardelle. It's something else :-) Everything else was exactly what you would want from a good Italian place.
Have been a few times before. Food is always good but service is very hit and miss. Unfortunately the last time was a big fat miss which sort of spoilt the evening. waited a while to order, drinks took ages to arrive and we weren't even offered a chance to order dessert. Very disappointing.
Another nice meal at Zizzi in Exeter. As always very busy.
All is well with the restaurant, nothing negative to say, Shame the OpenTable reservation and special request which I placed 10am that morning never got to the waiters.
Luckily there were tables available at our arrival. Else we would not have been sat down.
When we arrived, told that they did not have a reservation for us, told her that I had booked it approx 11.50 am online as restaurant did not open until noon..but did manage to give us a table but said we had to be out by 8pm!! We made sure we finished and was out on time but did'nt have time for a desert or coffee..
Booked through Open Table but when we arrived there was no knowledge of our booking!!
Not sure who was to blame, the restaurant or Open Table but will be very wary of booking again.
They did manage to squeeze us in but two of our party were left waiting outside in the cold until I arrived and then I had to grovel - kind of spoilt what should have been a nice family celebration.
No apologies from the restaurant at the time just a lot of shrugged shoulders.
Very busy inside with no where near enough staff for a busy saturday night.
Food served promptly. Friendly staff. Very busy but staff remained attentive.
Have been many times to this Zizzi in Exeterms many times and it is always pretty reliable. You more or less know the menu before you go as they are all much the same. Nice Italian food. It has a nice outside seating area, very light and airy with lots of windows. Pizzas good. Always a very busy and buzzy atmosphere. Will return.
The meal was promptly served allowing us plenty of time before our show. The pizza size was generous and flavoursome. The Resturant tempreture was rather cool and draughty.
Zizzi is good food, no suprises. On this occasion our waiter was exceptionally good and made the experience very good
Nice Zizzi in little street in centre of Exeter but is very near the arts centre so also very handy for pre/post shows. Italian food, busy atmosphere so service can be a little slow, but fine for casual dining.
Our table was booked for 7.00pm on a Friday night and every table was taken. It was a busy evening but our drinks and food order was taken and delivered as expected. We had 3 courses and were not rushed at all but with a sensible gap in between, can't fault the service. All our 3 courses were excellent. I recommend the Sea Bream - very tasty. Others had Chicken and Pizzas all lovely. This was my first visit to Zizzi and would not hesitate to recommend it. We used our Tesco vouchers which worked without any issues. Well worth a visit.
This was a very busy restaurant, the service was very quick and we were offered the drinks menu within a couple of minutes of sitting down.
Sadly no draught beer. Why? The only reason I can think of is so that we order the overpriced bottled beer. ☹
We were overwhelmed with menus. A poor persons menu @ £15, one @ £20 and the normal menu. Why 3? It was all too much to take in. We ordered the lasagna and pasta chicken. The lasagna was very tasty but unrecognisable as lasagna. The chicken however was not so enjoyable. I'm glad it said chicken on the menu as I needed reassurance that it was. The pasta was tough and leathery. The chocolate puddings were quite delightful, pity that one of them was cold.
We have eaten here several times before. With Zizzi you know what you are going to get - so no surprises if you like this kind of italian restaurant and food. In a nice position near the centre of town.
Service was a bit slow which resulted in us leaving pud to the theatre when we had ice cream. The pizzas were good and the price ok.
We enjoyed our lunch at Zizzi, excellent place to go in central Exeter and the opportunity to browse local independent shops afterwards!
Service was excellent, courteous staff, and the food was yummy!
Have been here before and food quality has reduced for sure. The staff were quite fairly friendly. Not disable friendly- did not even have one chair with arm so our disable friend could use.
Natural light poured into this restfully decorated restaurant through skylights and French windows even on a grey Exeter day. The service was extremely friendly and efficient and the food tasty and arrived rapidly. One complaint - no wifi
