So glad they survived (so far) the pandemic! A little pricey but wonderful food.
The food was excellent, though a bit overpriced. It was clear from the moment we walked in that new diners were not going to be a priority for the service staff. Regular customers were catered to as old friends, but we struggled to receive even moderately adequate service for most of the evening as the staff treated us as an inconvenience. Why leave reservations open for new diners to experience your restaurant? Turn it into a private dinner club, as that appears to be your preference.
The food was very average-no big deal. The pricing on the wine was ridiculous-4 times cost. Our waiter was killing himself to wait all his tables, as one of the waiters didn’t show up for work, so he was having to cover 7 tables. Normally he should only have to cover 4. The kitchen was very slow. After being there almost an hour, we had only had our appetizer. We were seated on the patio next to the wall, where there were 2 two-top tables. The chairs were as wide as the table, so they couldn’t be scooted in under the table . As a result, we were wedged into our space, as were the other diners on the wall next to us. Overall it wasn’t a terrible experience, but certainly with so many other restaurants in Dallas that don’t have these combined issues, I doubt we will make a repeat visit.
Excellent authentic Italian food. Great presentation. Outstanding hospitality. Highly recommend.
We went at 6:30 and the place was full of very young children. Our server had too many tables to handle by himself but did a good job considering. The food was marginal and very expensive. We haven't been there for about 18 months because of the pandemic but we will not go back.
We love going to Zio Cecio. The food is excellent and the owner treats you like family. He has some outstanding Sardinian wines that he pairs perfectly with the food. Highly recommend.
The crowd was moderate for a Saturday night, but the waiter was very helpful and professional, and the food was quite good. It was a little overpriced, but the suggested house red wine was better than expected.
Chef Francesco consistently produces incredibly tasty and beautiful looking food. Zio Cecio is a great addition to Dallas, following in the stead of its predecessor, Arcodoro Pomodoro, also Francesco's prior to his moving North from Routh Street to Lovers Lane.
Restaurant was very accommodating to teenage son and his guest. Excellent food and experience.
First time and definitely will return. Ordered the seafood ravioli and lemon cake. Both were very good.
After not having been here for awhile we forgot how good the food is. We had an excellent bottle of Italian wine recommended by the owner and great pasta dishes. While eating we made another reservation to return in a few weeks. We will not forget ZIO again.
Great food and ambience....
Will definitely go back again..
Highly recommend to anyone looking for outstanding southern Italian cuisine!
Francesco and company always deliver top notch service and food. If you want to take a trip to Italy, Zio Cecio is your choice!
Never even got to order after sitting at our table for almost an hour. No manager on duty, and we basically were told we were overreacting. So we asked for the check to pay for drinks and the app that we ordered. Manager/host told us to just go without paying. No problem for us to not have to pay for terrible service. Not worth the prices on their menu. Stay away. Terrible service.
Have been dining at Zio’s for years.
Good food, good service, warm cozy atmosphere. I would not feel comfortable bringing a very young family member to dine here. Best Tiramisu anywhere.
Just a wonderful restaurant. The whole salt baked fish is over the top. The pizza is exactly what you get in Italy.
Francesco and team always have top notch service and food. If you want to feel like you are in Italy, go to Zio Cecio!
We had a reservation for 745 and didn’t get seated until 845. Food was bland and very slow to come out
I love this place. The owner is always there, and he suggests amazing wine and food. Their ragu is like you’d get in Italy, and their focaccia is light and airy. I also love their house sale with marinated artichokes and slices of Parmesan. The burrata on tomatoes was heavenly! The lasagne is great too. The pork chop was dry, and so I wouldn’t order that again. However, if you stick with the pastas, wine, salad, and bread, you can’t go wrong.
We love this little neighborhood gem! Food was wonderful - my fiance is a picky eater and was asking questions about some of the dishes when the owner came over and asked what he would most like to have for dinner. He said cheese ravioli (which was not on the menu) and he said "you got it"! It was perfect! We also loved the wine recommendation - we are both wine lovers but not as familiar with Italian wine. We told our server what we generally drink and he picked out something for us that was just perfect. So yes...We will be going back to Zio Cecio!
Another great meal. Really good value Sardinian red wine.
Very loud. Couldn’t understand waiter. Ordered Lasagna with meat had to have received vegetarian. Gross. Told waiter and he politely argued I received the right meal. Wife’s eggplant was bitter. We did not finish our meal as they did not taste well. Portion size was small for the price charges. Table next to us patron was two feet away from me as no social distancing was happening. I absolutely hate to complain but our night was ruined by this experience.
It was pretty good
Overpriced for portion sizes! Everything was yummy though.
Traditional Italian menu and beautiful food. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend!!
Best in town. Small place, good service, nice wine list and easy parking. Never crowded.
One of the best in town. Outstanding food and service. The salt crusted fish is the best I've ever had. Great pastas. All around just a fantastic place.
Our favorite neighborhood gem. Francesco is the best.
We always love eating here... nice people, good service, great food!
The food was really good, but it was slightly over priced for what it was and the amount you got. None the less, a rather romantic spot with delicious food and fine wine!
My girlfriend and I had a great date night here. She is a vegetarian and gluten-free, so we thankful that the restaurant and several items that she could eat. Great wine too!
The salted fish was wonderful - Francesco has a great team of chefs and servers - we loved our time here.
Excellent food and service. Francesca has done an excellent job with traditional Sardinian food! I will definitely return.
Good dinner. We were very comfortable with the environment
Amazing restaurant. I’ve known Francesca for over 30 yrs.
Delicious food, service, and atmosphere. I highly recommend this local restaurant.
The food is phenomenal and Francesco is a great host!
Great service, great food and nice place! Nothing to complain about
Nice, small restaurant - Sicilian style Italian. Nice people, good food, good service. Salads were delicious but rather expensive, given the size. Boar sauce pasta and branzino in salt crust were outstanding. Good wines as well.
As always, Francesco and his team provided a superlative dining experience...personalized our meal choices...and our drink choices...Scott Brown
The food was delicious and the owner was very attentive. We had a wonderful time!
