Best authentic Italian food in the area, hands down! Staff is friendly and the food is Amazing every time! Quaint restaurant hidden in Chics Beach with fast and friendly service. Everything on the menu is excellent, but my go to entree is the Chicken Marsala. It is Amazing!! Try the garlic goat cheese appetizer, we love it! Enjoy!

There are so many good things on the menu it is hard to decide what to get. I settled on the chicken marsala which was outstanding. It is had to find anything on the menu people won't like and it's all freshly made. Great place!

Zia Maria was a very nice restaurant. It’s a local place on the bay side of Virginia Beach. The food was excellent the menu is on a blackboard. I would highly recommend making a reservation because it’s a very small place especially on a weekend. We will definitely be back

Haven’t been to Zia Marie in a while. We were very disappointed. Noise level was very loud to start. The restaurant was very crowded. It was not socially distant in comparison to many other restaurants where we have eaten during the pandemic. We ate more quickly then we would have wanted to because we were uncomfortable with the amount of people in the restaurant. Our appetizer of roasted garlic with goat cheese was very good as per the recommendations online. I had the veal saltimbocca which I enjoyed. The veal was very tender. My husband had the eggplant Parmesan and my adult son had the spaghetti with meatballs. Neither one of them liked the marinara sauce on their food. It tasted like it wasn’t cooked long enough.

I love this place. It’s a local out of the way spot close to the beach. A nice place for a first date or special evening with someone.

While I realize that the pandemic has put pressures on everyone, I was very disappointed in our anniversary experience this year at Zia Marie. One of the entrees (stuffed eggplant) usually is our favorite. What came to our table was a chef's creation that hardly resembled the dish we expected. I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir that never made its way to our table. Our server seemed distracted, socializing at other tables. Regrettably, we are crossing Zia Marie's off our special occasion destination list. Just too many unexpected variables. This saddens us.

So good, I got the chicken Parmesan it was excellent. The stuffed egg plant was also amazing!

Excellent food, service and experience!! My husband and I are not sure why they have a low rating, but we are sure glad it didn't deter us from eating there. We actually stopped back the next night for more cheesecake - out of this world!! Then we ordered pizza for take out the day after that, and it did not disappoint! True Italian cuisine. You definitely need to go!!

It has been a very long time since I have been to Zia's. Food is as good as I remember. I hope to not wait as long to come back again.

From New York- there are only a few real Italian Restaurants in the area, but this was excellent- will definitely be going again!!

We didn't receive our meals for 45 minutes after ordering. The food was not good at all. I have experienced ups and downs at Zia's. After my recent experience, I will not return.

We tried Zia Marie for something new, and it was amazing. I loved the neighborhood feel and it seems like a family run restaurant. The wait staff was great. The food was excellent, and I come from an Italian family! We will certainly return! We have told several of our friends and they want to go too!

Very Disappointed. Went to Zia Marie’s on a date night while on vacation. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs. His meal came with meatballs that were cold in the middle. Sent them back to be reheated, came out the second time still cold in the middle. I mean... really??!! If you can’t get spaghetti and meatballs right, there’s a fundamental problem. Our waitress was very gracious about it and removed the meal from our bill. She even offered up some meatballs to take with us that she assured us we’re warm in the middle, but we declined. Third time will not be the charm for us.

Outstanding! Had not been in years and wanted to treat our “Foodie” daughter; son in law and 2 granddaughters visiting from Richmond! They were super pleased! It was a very nice evening!

First it was freezing in the restaurant making it hard to enjoy being there. After numerous complaints they adjusted some, but still cold. Food was terrible and limited menu that wasn’t desirable. One and done. Don’t know how they stay in business. The place is a dump.

Tori (Victoria) is a marvelous server. She always has great advice about food and drinks. She is very friendly and always remembers us.

Felts rushed. Food served hot and plenty of it. Overall taste was average.

It’s very small you have to break your neck to read chalk board menus. Food came out very slow and didn’t have many options.

We’ve been going to Zias for many years. Never had a bad experience or meal. However we were a little disappointed in the veal saltimbaca this time. Something wasn’t quite the same. Don’t know if they have a different chef. Not sure we’ll be ordering that dish again.
