Zeppole Coastal Italian at the Gaylord Texan
Wanted to eat here after going to the ICE exhibit. Made a reservation for 8pm but got done with ICE around 7. Went to see if we could get in earlier to eat but were told that they were seating true to reservation time. So we came back around 7:45 and was told again that we couldn’t be seated until 8pm our reservation time. So weird..... Got seated at 8:01pm. Anyhoo...the food was worth the wait. We had lasagna and pizza and split that between 3 people. The bread they brought out was amazing as well. Will definitely go back!
This was a dining horror. Our reservations were for 7:15 and our food didn’t arrive until 8:40 and we had children who were tired and super hungry. On top of this, the spaghetti and meatballs were horrible and you charge $22.50. nOBODY liked it!!!! MY meal as well as my daughter-in-law’s (not spaghetti), made us both sick for the entire night. I was so looking forward to my family eating there. I had been before about 4 years ago and it was better. My son and his family had never been...and they had to pay a horrid price for the service and meal. We should be fully reimbursed. Will never ever go again and will pass this on to others.
For a hotel restaurant it was good. I ordered the lasagna and it was tasty but in a different way than traditional lasagna. It was topped with béchamel sauce. The consistency was very loose and would have been better eaten with a spoon rather than a fork. I would eat here again but only if staying hotel.
Wonderful service best appetizer great food
Server started off a lil cold but might have been due to us trying to settle our son in and weren't really able to fully acknowledge him until 2yr old was seated and situated with crayons. He did warm up to us after dinner was served. Took about 45 mins to get served but worth the wait. Also don't skip the dessert believe me you will thank me, think it was the Alaska something. Yummmm!
Steak was overcooked had to send it back. I have very different herbed flavor The pasta Bolognese I could make better than that my son would not eat but 4 bites Our experience at the Gaylord was phenomenal but this meal we would never go again for the money spend need a bigger menu as well more offerings
Food was really good but service was slow. Many empty tables but service was always a little too long
Yes I’d recommend and although everything was awesome, I still think it’s a little too expensive
Great place to enjoy Italian food!!
Amazing food! Great service! Zero complaints! Made reservations online a month in advance. Checked in and was seated within 10 min. Its a must if you are in the area or staying at the Gaylord!!
We had enjoyed this restaurant a year ago. We arrived early, had a drink at the bar and then got seated in what felt like a cafeteria. We did not stay.
Be sure to review your check, extra things were added that we did not order
Food was very good reasonably priced for resort restaurant overall very good experience
It was very good. The price was alot more than expected.
Will not be back. Too pricey, noodles not cooked, service not up to par and I think that's enough said!
We have been several times for romantic diner and love it. Since is Italian , would love to them to have Italian music.
David G was amazing. He took the time to explain the menu and even chatted with my daughter and I about other things. Very enjoyable experience. Thanks David. We appreciated the wonderful service!
We had a great birthday celebration. Everyone enjoyed their food and trying new foods.
I’m thankful that we booked reservations well in advance because Gaylord Texan was packed. We were seated in nice large comfortable chairs which made the evening enjoyable. Our main waitress seemed like her working there was the worst thing and it was painful to watch her wait on us. The waitress however was nice enough in asking to take our toddler’s order first so he didn’t have to wait long and brought him some fruit to snack on. There was this weird exchange that made me question coming back in our main waitress asked if we wanted bottled water and we just heard water so we said “yes”. Another waitress came by and started pouring us regular tap water and our main waitress got mad at her and the other girl kept apologizing. It came across as our main grumpy waitress was trying to make money off of us with the water - just rubbed us all wrong.
Christmas Family event
The dining experience started off on the wrong foot. Arrived a few minutes early for a reservation, and despite many empty tables, had to wait over 10 minutes to be seated.
I inquired of the hostess who had originally said a couple of minutes, and she informed me that she couldn't leave the hostess stand.
Finally was seated, water came fairly quickly, and then another person brought bread, but neither was our actual server.
By the time she finally arrived, I had talked myself out of an overpriced adult beverage.
Ordered a Caesar Salad, and the Chicken Masala.
When the salad arrived, it was a laughably small portion for the price. It was half a small heart of romaine with both ends cut off, under dressed, and what appeared to be crumbs instead of croutons.
The Masala was tasty, but also an underwhelming portion.
To top it off, it took a while to get the bill, and even longer to pay it.
I realize that staying at a property like this, your options are limited, but lackluster service and small portions fall far below average standards.
Took my mama out for dinner and had an exceptional experience
Food is delicious, the staff went out of their way and the ambience is wonderful
Overall this place is not worth the money. The fresh bread and pasta were good, but that was the best thing going for it. The meatballs have a strong game flavor that no one at the table cared for, and was not mentioned on the menu. Service was slow. We were there over two hours, and we didn't even order apps or dessert. Drinks were empty for awhile before we got refills. I mentioned in the reservation as well as in front of the waitress that is was my sister's birthday, but the staff did not acknowledge it. Also, it would have been nice to sit in the actual restaurant (not the "patio"). It had a cool vibe with the open kitchen. Although we did have a semi-private area. It was a fun place to try because it's in the Gaylord, but I probably won't be back.
Food was good and server was outstanding/friendly.
Waited an hour and 45min for our food to arrive. Error with computer they said. 19 dollar pizza was terrible. Chicken was 26 dollars, way too salty and only came with mashed potatoes. Do not waste your money here.
Food was good. Menu selection is not the best and second time the service from the kitchen has been slow. Service from the waitstaff was otherwise attentive.
Horrible service good food though I think the servers need to work on communication
Food has gone downhill. I was served Instant mashed potatoes with the ribeye, risotto was under cooked and it was supposed to have mixed vegetables. Also server tried to tell me balsamic doesn’t have gluten. It most certainly does, it comes from Barley. I also asked why the steak didn’t say gf if it was and they had other menu items marked Gf. He just said it was without checking with the chef. The servers should be taught to take allergies more seriously
The food was amazing! Our server was wonderful, had a great attitude and was willing to accommodate all of our birthday celebration needs for our party of six. She lit the candles, stored and served the cake and had a great sense of humor. The atmosphere was perfect for our family of seniors, teens and middle agers. We will be back!
Whatever you do, ask for Brooke!! She is OUTSTANDING as I had a very "selective" eater attending my dinner and she handled the person PERFECTLY!!! Left very happy with EVERYTHING
The fried calamari appetizer was phenomenal, the lamb was like a bland pork chop, the chicken marsala was good, the marinara sauce was great, the pasta was ok. Our waitress Paige gave the best service I've had at any restaurant I've ever been to. Would I recommend it, no, the price was too high for hit and miss food.
Very accommodating , chef was able to custom make a dish , excellent service
Was an amazing experience and treated us guest like we were family. Celebrated a birthday and had no problem accommodating us. One of us also had a Food Allergy towards dairy and they went above and beyond to accommodate that which made us feel like we were in good hands. Only thing is there was not a very big selection for dairy free meals, other then that it was an absolute amazing experience. Will definitely be returning in the future.
Excellent food and great service!!! Great place to go.
Paige was our server and she was great! We had the soup starter, delish but more of a tomato broth minestrone. My husband and I shared the Bolognese, their entrees are small but splitting it worked for us with light appetites.
Nine of us had a terrific meal at Zeppole -- from an inventive antipasto tower and mealballs to share as starters, some great wine (Elouan from Oregon and a Mohua Sauv. Blanc from New Zealand, both well-priced), salads (hard to chose between the beautiful caesar and my greens-only), and choice entrees such as chicken marsala and pappardelle with crab and clams. We had no room for desserts, which seemed sad.
I would go again in a heartbeat.
I would recommend this restaurant for is a great restaurant for the atmosphere and the food was hit or miss. The area we said and was not what I thought it should be with the wait staff and was disappointed by how long it took us to have them a meal there.
Paige was a great waitress. Very, Very sweet young lady and guided us through the menu. We had the lasagna and added some seasonal veggies. Everything was Great! I would definitely eat there again. Paige was the BEST.
Very nice restaurant great atmosphere good food and service.
Food was good, service sucked. Would I come back maybe if I'm staying at the hotel.
