My family would go to Zehnder's a few times a year while I was growing up, and while it's been 20+ years since I've been, the atmosphere hasn't changed a bit and the quality food hasn't changed either. It more than lived up to my expectations and hopes.

I've eaten here many times and never had a bad experience until now. My husband ordered the all you care to eat chicken dinner. His was served as usual. I'm gluten sensitive and ordered the gf half roasted chicken dinner. What I got was 3 cut up pieces of basically meatless bones served on a salad plate. Nothing else. No potatoes and no vegetables. I was still ok, because I was looking forward to the gf rolls and spreads. No rolls. I was served dry crumbly and tasteless bread. I was unable to use the spreads on this. I sat and nibbled on cranberry relish while my husband feasted. I really hope this an isolated incident. It was so nice to have a place where I could order a meal and have the same type of experience as my family. But I honestly wouldn't go back for the meal I was served.

We made reservations, so we were surprised to be seated in the bar and not the dining room. There were 3 adults, and 2 small children seated next to us. The girls were constantly running around the table, and getting in the way of the staff going in and out to the patio. Service was very slow. A table of 6 was seated after we had placed our order, and was served and left before we were served dessert. We felt like since it was just the 2 of we not a priority. Another couple came in after us and was completely ignored. They left after waiting for about 10 minutes for a server to acknowledge them. Was not the restaurant we remembered from 35 years ago. Hope this was an exception.

We had a perfect visit to Zehnders. The special request seating was exactly as we hoped for. Our meal was excellent, outstanding “homemade” recipes that are what we keep coming back for year after year. We also lucked out by being treated like royalty from our favorite server, “Rebecca”. It is money well spent at a business that we cherish.

We enjoy Zenders food and hospitality so much we come back several times throughout the year. The town of Frankenmuth in itself is very enjoyable! Food, drink, shopping or just a walk around town to enjoy the beautiful river and building!!

The food is absolutely awful. They over book and can’t not deliver. Some how this is suppose to the be the best. I don’t get it, cheese spread and crackers, am I supposed to be excited? The chicken is dry and needs a better process with seasoning.

We come here every year on memorial weekend. Enjoy it very much. Reservations made the process foolproof and we were seated immediately. Highly recommend the chicken dinner.
