We arrived at Zed's on Dec. 11 after making a reservation via open Table only to discover that the restaurant has been closed to regular business (parties only now) since Nov. 22. We recommend that Zed's updates its website to include this information - right now it shows business as usual - and that Open Table drop Zed's from their services so that others do not drive 60 minutes out of their way, hungry, only to have to find another place to eat.

The food was incredible! Zed's serves both small plates (flat bread, fried goat cheese, lamb skewers) and large plates (wagyu beef selections & prime rib). The tomato bisque is to die for. Be sure to bring quarters to purchase fish food and feed the koi on the way out.

Jacob, our waiter, was excellent. He made our dad's 95th birthday dinner extra special. Our meals were very good and a good value. The surprise chocolate cake with bithday candle topped off our visit.

Friendly service though not as attentive as I would prefer. Nice atmosphere. The food was very good. Delicious scone. I had eggs Benedict which was good, fun selections, but not any better than elsewhere, nonetheless, I would go back and order it again if I wanted eggs Benedict. I took a glance at evening menu and I will be going back for supper sometime. Definitely worth a try.

My family and I went to Zed's for a birthday dinner, and we sat out on the patio. We really enjoyed the music they were playing on the speakers and the openness of the outdoor area, and overall the ambience was upbeat but not too loud. The waitress was pretty busy, so hopefully on a slower night the service would be a little better; she brought out some rolls soon after we were seated, but we had to wait several minutes for plates to put them on. The manager did come over a couple of times to help out while she was attending her other tables, which was really appreciated. The food was delicious - we had the Zed's filet, wagyu sirloin, and seared snapper. The two sirloin steaks were missing the chimichurri that was listed in the description, and the waitress offered to bring some to the table but forgot, again probably because she was busy with several other tables. For dessert we had the key lime tarts, apple pie, and creme brûlée, all of which were large servings and well presented. We were able to bring our own bottle of wine for dinner, so we didn't try any of the cocktails or wines, though I've read that they have a good selection at the restaurant.

Fantastic Reuben sandwich! Great artichoke appetizer. Salmon appetizer very good also. Server was attentive. Plan to go back next time I am in town.

nice location quiet went for a late lunch, service was very good and the food was great nice portions, comfort food. I had the chicken fried steak. I have been wanting one for a while and this filled the bill. Served with spinach and garlic mashed potatoes which were excellent.

I've eaten at Zeds for lunch many times and we decided to give it try for its consistent food and relaxed atmosphere for our son's 30th birthday. We had a reservation for 5 and when we arrived, we learned that there was a large party there for 30-40 people. Our table was not set and the hostess had difficulty arranging and setting the table. The waiter was unsure of himself and appeared over his head. The appetizers were fine, but the Prime Rib was over cooked as were the potatoes. The noise and commotion was very distracting. When they brought out a complimentary desert for the birthday boy, he couldn't eat it, due to dietary restrictions, which they asked about a the start of the meal?? Great salads and sandwiches for lunch, but for a nice dinner, I would recommend you go elsewhere.

The prime rib dinner was amazing! We also had the crispy spring rolls, tomato salad, and goat cheese aapetizers. Service was perfect to. They even brought out a complimentary cake for my husband's birthday! Thank you, Zed's staff, for an awesome dinner!

I've been to Zed's, and I love it! They offer great food (chicken and waffles), great drinks (Pink Lady) and a great atmosphere (girlfriends or a romantic evening)! I'm so happy to have discovered this gem of a spot.

A usual spot for my business dinners. As comfortable as your own dining room, with amazing menu choices. I definitely would return for business dinners, and would start going for date-night.

Why hassle with the traffic on I-35? We stopped at Zeds for the happy hour and decided to stay longer than originally planned. The happy hour small plates are anything but small. The sliders with fries will satisfy any craving and the other selections look tasty. It was cool so we ate inside but the outside patio is spacious. Please check out this non-chain eatery and the happy hour prices.

our reservation was honored - no waiting - the menu was diverse so that everyone was able to find a selection(s) they liked - food was prepared as expected - well done - the wine list was above average - the service was good - we were not rushed - had a after dinner drink on the patio - was a great evening with friends

The service was good and prompt. The special of prime rib was like no other prime rib I have ever had. It was like a thin piece of roast beef. I asked for it to be medium and it was well done. I was not impressed. Also there was no salad offered and overall the meal just was not substantial for the price paid.

Decided to try Zed's from seeing a picture and menu on opentable. Loved the fact you could make a brunch reservation. Everything was delicious and the patio was pretty and scenic. The patio was also dog friendly and had several televisions with the main sport channels on. Can't beat $6 mimosa carafes!

Berry and I stay in alot because we are an older couple, we decided to try a night out at a nice restaurant, I read the reviews and suggested to my husband to not order the baby back ribs because the review said they were not baby back, he didn't listen (smile)he ordered anyway, couldn't eat them - very tough. I asked the waitress if they were indeed baby back ribs and she said yes they didn't have anything else but that, after that we were met with an attitude which I guess was because we questioned whether our rib selection was indeed baby back (thought maybe they misunderstood and gave us the wrong order). From that point on we wished we had stayed in and not gone out or maybe had gone to Chili's instead because their baby back ribs are much better. I called and spoke with the manager the next day and got the same answer to our question, did bring the tough meat called baby back ribs home, I guess we can have it analyzed by a butcher and see what they say. What could have been a very special night for us didn't turn out so well. I tried to be fair in my review but we will not recommend to any of our friends.

To be fair, we only had access to a prix fixe menu, but if it's any indication, Zeds is lucky it sits in North Austin as in Central, East, South, or West Austin, it would be obliterated by much more creative, dynamic, and ambient restaurants. Again, it's not that it was bad, it's simply that it was adequate and unmemorable.

We went to Zed's for a Valentine's Day celebration. First let me say that there was a very short menu. It was pretty obvious that they wanted to steer us to the $130 dinner for 2 Special. We opted not to do so and my wife had the fish and I had the prime rib. Both were tasty enough, but the presentation of the food was ordinary to a fault. The waitperson mumbled more than the singer in the band, Golden Earring at the beginning of the song, Twilight Zone. My wife could not understand her at all and I could not understand about 20 percent of what she said. Food quantity was decent, but between the very bland atmosphere and the presentation of the food and the speech deprived waitperson, we opted to go elsewhere for dessert.

The food was adequate, but not memorable. Our waitress did a good job of being attentive without overdoing. The mid seventies cracked vinyl upholstery was a shock. Although the restaurant was empty, we were seated right next to the kitchen, with a constant barrage of employees going in and out. Unless something unexpected occurs, we won't be going back.

The atmosphere welcomes you as soon as you pull up. Beautiful ambiance that differentiates it from other places. The staff is friendly and the food is really good! The wine list is not huge, so if you have favs they may not be on the list. But I was able to find one that paired perfectly with our dinner. We will definitely be back to Zed's.

We've been going to Zed's since they opened. The first experience was amazing. Unfortunately, since then we've had problems with consistency. Sometimes the service is perfect. Other times it seems like they've pulled someone who isn't usually a waitperson and asked them to fill in for a shift. That was the case on 12/31. We felt like we were constantly asking for help, pulling information, begging for an excuse to totally enjoy our experience. The waitress never really engaged.

We were served by an inexperienced server who did not know the menu and could not answer our questions. She seemed overworked and unfriendly. The menu was set and you had no choice for customization or substitution. The menu items were premade. When served, the meat was warm but the side veggies were cold. We brought up the server problem to the manager's attention. She was apologetic but made no compensation. The food was pricy. My advice - avoid set menus.

We had excellent service, were greeted courteously and the food was excellent. I am sometimes disappointed in portion sizes, but Zed's lunch was balanced and plentiful. Very nice for a professional meeting over lunch or a just a quick, upscale lunch. The view of the lake is charming, without overwhelming, and the large windows mean you do not have to sit in a particular spot to enjoy it. Service was prompt and efficient, since this was a quick lunch for us. I do not like being pestered for add-ons (dessert, coffee, etc.) and the server took his cues from us, which I also appreciated.

Service was prompt. Server was helpful when asked; but did not intrude. Food was well prepared, fresh and tasty. The menu was varied with something for every taste. We all found the goat cheese appetizer very tasty and prepared in a way that was unexpected.
