Japanese tapas, so delicious! We went with the eight-course tasting menu, which is designed to introduce newbies to Yonaka to their most popular dishes. We did NOT regret it (and it was a great value!).

My husband and I ordered 3 of the cold plates and we were amazed at how delicious and different they were from the type of Japanese food that we are accustomed to eating. Each dish was a beautiful presentation layered with many flavors and textures that went together so perfectly. We also tried the Hamachi Kama which was crispy and delicious with perfect accompaniments of preserved lemon and pickled vegetables. The food accompanied by the well timed presentation of our dishes made for a wonderful evening. We were so pleased that we decided to get away from the strip and enjoy this local gem of a restaurant!

We have eaten at Yonaka a number of times and have recommended it to several friends who also loved it. We were excited to take another couple with whom we were visiting from Phoenix. The restaurant was busy but not packed. Waitress came over promptly and took our order for drinks and food. My beer came out right away but the cocktails had still had not arrived after twenty-five minutes. The food starting coming out slowly. Fifty minutes after we placed our order, our last dish, a poached salmon, still wasn't out. I flagged the waitress and told her to just cancel it but she said it was coming up right then. After another five minutes, it finally arrived and was almost certainly rushed as the entire filet was under-cooked. At this point, we just decided that we were done with dinner so did not complain. We will be trying some of the other amazing Asian restaurants in the area on our next visit to Las Vegas

The food was creative and delicious. The Chef appreciates ingredients and how to prepare them with out spoiling natural flavors. This is not a sushi place. Yonaka Modern is far more sophisticated and thought provoking than that. No fancy dress, just pure palate pleasing flavors and visual presentations. Try the omakase menu to really understand all that it has to offer.

service is a bit slow but they are very attentive. When I mentioned I only want low mecury fish, they went through great pain to help me make the selection. Some dishes are exceptional like Seebass Crudo, but some are just ok

Fantastic food! Great happy hour prices, but don't make a reservation if you want to take advantage of the happy hour deals- they have some strange issue with this... even though the restaurant was fairly empty when we were there.

Always find this restaurant to be one of Las Vegas' gems off the beaten path of the strip and away from the crowds. Fresh, creative Japanese style cuisine at its very best! Don't miss this place when you are in Vegas!!

Just off the strip on West Flamingo, this is truly a gem. The fish is very fresh and the cold and hot dishes are so imaginative and flavorful.
Service is excellent. We always include at least one meal at Yonaka every time we visit Vegas.
The standouts this time around were the tea-smoked ribs, the yellowtail sashimi (as always) and the Saki Orenji. Outstanding value for the money. You would pay at least twice as much if this was located in one the big hotels.
Many thanks for another memorable dining experience.

Yonaka Modern Japanese is about the last kind of restaurant I expected to find in Las Vegas. Away from the Strip and all that bling, Yonaka maintains a traditional Japanese dining experience albeit in a modern ambiance. Staff knew the menu inside and out and were able to make some very good suggestions. After a week of convention food, I was ready for something excellent and authentic. Yonaka delivered on both counts. A nice bar, too, with some beverages I hadn't seen in America before. I'll be back!

Our second visit, really great food, and better hand normal value for Vegas. It's worth the trip off the strip, just a few mins in a cab. Go there and pick a 4-5 dishes each and share, for a great food experience

Off the beaten path but worth the trip. Everyone busted my chops for not staying near the way-too-busy strip but afterwards thanked me for a good pick.

All the food was excellent, fresh and well presented, we mainly had sushi and sashimi, but the sides and appetizers were also very tasty. Especially the roasted Brussel sprouts of all things!

Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry so it was not too bad

We went here thanks to the Great Review's on TA.I am a Coeliac and my wife cannot cope with Garlic. It was just too hard the Waiter did not have a Clue and when he approached the Chefs you could see they were not Interested.
There answer to Gluten free is the Dish with no Sauce what a Joke.My wife was handed a Bowl of Sashimi Tuna that was Awful.
Very Disappointed.
I went home Hungry but it was a very cheap meal,

The food was excellent. Creative Japanese at its finest. We had the 8 course tasting menu. Each course was delicious, but our favorites were the crispy brussel sprouts and the lobster dish. Dessert was incredible as well. The service was attentive. Wish we lived here so we could go back soon!
