Yesterday's Food & Spirits
Yesterday's of Granger sits in one of the third oldest homes in St Joseph County, featuring a unique dining atmosphere like no other.
Here at yesterday's we carefully season and cook our prime rib to perfection. Due to it's extreme popularity and our low roasting method there may be times when it's unavailable. A tarzan cut upon request.
Captiva Crab Cake
One large crab cake made from a mixture of fresh crabmeat, peppers, corn & seasonings, lightly sauteed and featuring our curry mayonnaise on the side.
The New York Cheesesteak
Thinly sliced prime rib, covered with sauted mushrooms, onions and jamaican jack cheese on our toasted sourdough loaf.
Food and service good but of the four meals...three were very cold and even when microwaved....came back exactly the same way. Had to box it as we do not like cold steaks, baked potatoes and corn on the cob!
Food is always fantastic!! Top of the line service. Deserts are the best you can get!! Love this place!!
We love sitting outside at Yesterdays. Everything was excellent. Good service.
Food overall was good not great. Service was quite slow with it taking nearly an hour from order to getting food. Decor and ambiance are interesting.
Great, great food! This is our favorite spot for our anniversary dinner. Great steak, great wine! This is our favorite place to splurge. - Must have desert also.
Kathy did an excellent job of serving us. Food was delicious. Did not feel rushed and enjoyed our time there along with the food.
This was my first visit to Yesterday’s and it definitely won’t be my last. We went with another couple and all of us were celebrating our wedding anniversaries. We ate outside on the patio. Our waiter, Chris, was attentive and did a wonderful job! Our meals were delicious. The only exception is that my steak was overcooked. I did not send it back as I did not want to interrupt the flow of the meal. It is a bit on the pricey side, and with the cool evening temperatures, it would be nice if patio heaters were used. But overall, we had a very nice experience and we will go back for special occasions.
I would not recommend the chipotle beef tacos. Meat was tough. The restaurant could use a good dusting.
What a wonderful restaurant to have a nice upscale meal. Food was delicious. Server was very attentive. Food portions are very generous. The dessert selection is to die for.
We went to Yesterday’s for my husband’s birthday. After months of COVID rules, we were thrilled to be going OUT to eat. The restaurant is charming in a very old-fashioned way. The food was delicious, and the servings are on the crazy side of generous. My husband the grouper dinner, which he said was delicious. My friend and I had Captiva Crab Cakes and her husband had the small prime rib. Yesterday’s desserts are beautiful, rich and delicious. We had a lovely evening. This restaurant is highly recommended!!
Chairs in the porch room are extremely uncomfortable, not sure if these are used throughout the restaurant or not. Due to Covid I don’t think it’s appropriate for a guests Take home food to be taken away from the table and boxed by the server. Servers should ask guests if they prefer to box their own or would like the server to do it.
Unfortunately the online application allowed me to make a reservation on Wednesday. The restaurant was closed. I had to make alternate plans last minute. Someone needs to manage their online presents. The next time it works out I will go back. I have always enjoyed previous meals at Yesterdays.
Our second time at this restaurant, with the first visit outstanding. This time, however, the service seemed rushed (plus forgot to bring our salad) and recorded music rather loud (as we were seated under a speaker). The food was OK, but not as good as we remembered it to be.
Just go to Yesterday's.....You wont be disappointed. The food is fantastic and they don't push you out the door wanting the table your sitting at. Very relaxed atmosphere and just a great dinning experience. Will go back again very soon.
Our server was very sweet but she was new. We did have a long wait to get our drinks. But the food was excellent, as it usually is. We enjoyed sitting outside. Yesterdays' was trying to be safe, but it was disappointing seeing customers not wearing mask when they went inside to use the restroom. There were signs everywhere telling folks to wear mask.
Everything was outstanding - the food, the service, the atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Best desserts in town! The portions are amazing too! You definitely will not leave hungry!
We have always love Yesterday’s. The food is always spectacular but tonight we had an amazing server, Karen. She was so personal and she truly was the atmosphere! Yesterday’s is a local treasure for sure but people like Karen make all the difference.
Love this place!
I will be going back ever time I’m in town
Service was very slow.
This place was awesome! I cannot believe I've driven past it so many times and not stopped in. The ambiance is awesome. The food was excellent, and you get plenty of it. We all took a box home. The deserts are amazing! We took ours home to enjoy later. We did notice a lot of folks just stopping in to get desert to go.
The service was outstanding. You wont be disappointed if you eat here
A fun experience with my sister. Great atmosphere.
This is our go to restaurant to celebrate. The desserts are simply outstanding!
The greeter, in the very small entryway, is not wearing a mask.
We changed reservation to Tuesday because their cook for Monday quit
Been here many times before but this may have been the last as it took well over two hours for food, frog legs were overcooked and dry and the baked potato was Barely warm and not completely done
There were 6 of us and food was a disappointment
Yesterday's is our go-to for special occasions, out-of-town company or just a really good meal and fabulous desserts! I've never had a bad meal there, in at least 20 years of going to Yesterday's at least twice a year...love this place!
Our waiter was Will and he did an outstanding job!
The Time Square Salad was amazing, and Simi Cab by the glass - simply cant go wrong!
Great friends, outstanding food (and desserts) and great memories, The best!
Sat outside on the porch and Phil Strauss was playing acoustic guitar. Got the mesquite shrimp and coconut onion rings apps. Both were fantastic. The mojitos were also quite good. I would definitely go back. Service was a little slow but these are crazy times and we were not in a rush. Also, made for a relaxing non-rushed evening.
Phenomenal in every way just be prepared for the check. $150 and up for 2.
Overall very very good, only thing is not very welcoming. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for about 4 years now and the it one of the most important things is make your guests feel as welcome and comfortable as possible. My boyfriend and I are both 19 so maybe that is why but it shouldn’t matter, at the end of the day they are still making a profit from us.
We were seated 15 minutes late from our reservation. Our server did the best she could do and made us feel welcome. I ordered the Alaskan halibut brown bag and was underwhelmed. Fish was moist but smelled fishy and brown bag presentation was awkward. Ordered a martini but it had so much whipped filling that I couldn’t get it through the straw and it was quite warm- waiting 30 minutes for drinks after ordered. Overall environment is nice, dim, and quiet. Romantic setting, and interesting. Wish the food and initial service were better. Only thing bringing us back is our waitress and the cheesecake we didn’t try. Hopefully better next time!
Food and service is always unique and excellent!
The atmosphere was excellent our waiter was awesome made sure he had everything we needed to make our anniversary dinner memorable even sang a Anniversary song and took our picture!! Thank you
Roger was a superb server. Kind and accommodating. Food is always amazing. Crab cake appetizer and shrimp cocktail and our face Great Lakes White fish on plank. So stuffed.
My 92 year old mum had never been so Roger showed us the dessert tray knowing we weren’t having any.
Great food and service! Went for our anniversary and they even surprised us with awesome chocolate peanut butter cheesecake with a candle and song
As always, the food was excellent - the baked brie was to die for and the Cha-cha shrimp is the best. Yvonne and Carol and Chris were welcoming. Glad to have you back!
I had the steam bamboo basket... it was a very healthy, filling and very tasty dish . This is a fish dish with steamed vegetables. I also ordered the roasted garlic for two , do yummy! I also had the key lime pie... this is the real deal !
Our waiter was very polite, kept an eye on our beverages...
the entire house staff is very friendly!
I really recommend their appetizers, the steaks are amazing, oh and yes ALWAYS save room for dessert! You’ll be glad you did.
Chris was a great server.
