I have loved Yauatcha for years and always go back to visit when in London. After four years of being away, my husband and I were excited to return to Yauatcha for our anniversary. We were sadly disappointed. The service wasn't very good - they got my drink order wrong (I ordered rose champagne which doesn't seem complicated) and didn't bring the correct drink for about 20 minutes. The food was fine, but just that - fine. The dumplings were no longer outstanding and weren't so flavorful. The aromatic duck and pak choy were good, but... nothing special. We felt that the restaurant had really declined and probably won't return again. They did give us a macaroon for our anniversary, which was a very nice touch and appreciated.

Overall experience was ok, it as 32 degrees on Saturday and the aircon wasn't working properly. The restaurant was a sauna and they didn't let us know beforehand. The manages to move us to another table which was a little cooler but still pretty warm

Food and service are both good at this restaurant. However, don’t go if it’s hot outside as the restaurant is uncomfortably hot (not sure whether aircon was malfunctioning on our particular day) which makes the eating experience uncomfortable. We had a drink at the bar, and it felt like I was sitting in a sauna.

We went for lunch on the fixed price 3 course menu. You get to choose the main course. It demonstrates well the strengths of the dim sum offering and makes you want to come for dinner. Service, presentation etc are at usual high standard. Seating downstairs with no natural light was the only (very slight) minus.

Our First Visit and well worth the Hype, We were Greeted warmly at reception and we asked to spend some time in the Bar as we were early. The Bar was perfect for pre dinner cocktails, staff are smartly dressed and knowledgeble. We were seated on time and Met Nicole our table service , friendly outgoing and very pleasant . All dishes were extremely tasty and the silken tofu and soft shelled crab were cooked to perfection, salt n pepper bobster tail was heaven as were the stir fried artichokes. I wasnt keen on the Edame puffs a little too dry for me but I ate two . All of our food was served piping hot as it should be the presentaion was thoughtful and the food looked apetising Servings were generous not like that horrible little chop chop cafeteria in the Hippodrome, the Kitchen was working and you could see the sillouettes of the chefs prearing the food. Cocktails and drinks were available both floors, Something that was very evident and obvious was the courtesy extended to clients as the staff were moving through the venue, very gracious training, we also loved the diversity of the staff origins. Overall a very enjoyable experience a fantastic Pan Asian Resturant we will be back

The ambient environment was horrible, in a basement and quite noisy due to the limited space. Cannot even hear what people talking. Many dishes are fried and greasy. Not impressed at all.

Food excellent. Always takes an age to be served in the bar, - up to 20 mins all three times I’ve been there- and the music upstairs is way too loud- which is a reputation that precedes it clearly as two guests texted me separately worried about the inability to talk and asking me to try to get a table outside. They were right and the staff accommodated us but really for this sort of restaurant, it’s just odd to have the music that high and they need to sort it. Downstairs is much better.

We visited to celebrate a friend’s birthday. As ever the food was great - we primarily went for the dim sum which gives an amazing variety of tastes. The venison puffs are particularly outstanding. The deserts are worth try however full you are by that point as they are really delicate.

We were in London on holiday with grandkids, first time, and wanted to try a good Chinese restaurant, and Yauatcha was recommended very highly. It is in Soho, just north of China Town. Made an "early" reservation while taking a pub break and got it for 7pm. If you want to eat after 7:30pm, get a reservation as it fills quickly after then! The service was excellent and all of our queries were clearly addressed by the server. Everything we had was excellent, and I can only imagine how good the rest of the menu might be. Dumplings for appetizers were superb! Sweet and sour pork crispy and slightly spiced. Noodles were excellent. No complaints. We shared 4 appetizers, which was perfect, but had 3 entrees and would recommend 4 for hearty appetites! Only issue was that it got noisy as the restaurant filled. Decor very nice.

Arrived on time and was shoved in a back room to wait for the table to be ready. No apology and not once were we asked if we would like a drink. Waiting staff were ok once we had a seat. Prices seemed to have gone up and service has declined. Arrogance has crept in. As a fairly frequent visitor, sadly this may well be the last time.

First time post covid. It really has a problem with fruit flies. It was like that years back and like that now. It’s not a lot but they’re there. Like all London restaurants now it’s like a semi fast food joint with the 2 hour turnaround. Hurried a lot by the staff to choose drinks, your food and you’re always reminded that ‘they need the table back in 1hr…then half hour’. We get it bro. Can’t fault the food which is always great.

Quite dark ambience, music too loud which makes it hard to understand the waiters and your company. The food is great, particularly the dim sum is outstanding. Sadly the dessert felt like an afterthought, especially when spending a good amount of money on a tasting menu. Service was mostly good but what was weird that first all the dim sum courses are fired out in quick succession but then there was a 20-mins wait with an empty table before the mains were served. Altogether an alright experience but wouldn’t do again.

We were asked to move our table with our guests mid meal as they needed to join 2 tables for a group of 6 people and we were 4 of us. It was such a demeaning behaviour.

Excellent food and service, as always. I have been to Yauatcha regularly ever since it first opened years ago, though I go less regularly now, since prices have zoomed up after the pandemic lockdown. Long-established restaurants often lose their edge. Yauatcha hasn't. It remains a great restaurant.

Soft shell crab did not taste particularly fresh. Crispy duck salad with papaya was drowned in sickly sweet sauce and minimal papaya so not very refreshing and ribs were lacking meat and again covered in a second rate sauce. Just these three dishes alone cost around £75. Dim sum however were good. Overall stupid prices for second rate food. I can do better at home or at M & S...

As always, the attention to detail, exquisite flavours and professional service at Yauatcha made for an unforgettable evening! The set menu comes highly recommended due to the abundant selection of incredible food!
