This is always my go-to spot when in Austin. The beef chow fun, pot stickers, and green beans are amazing.
Enjoyed our evening immensely. Our sever Emma was spot on with her recommendations. The pecan prawns and hugging beef are a must. We ordered the soup dumplings and pork dumplings which were also delicious . Emma suggested we try the sichaun fried chicken and we weren't disappointed.
The team server and family style concepts made for excellent service and a true dining experience.
We will be back!
It was great!
Outstanding as usual!!
Everything was delicious! I had the soup dumplings, the green beans, and the prawns. It was the perfect night to eat outside.
Disappointed with the service. Expensive for what you are getting.
Such a fun dining experience and yummy food. The staff does a great job explaining the food items and making sure you get a good variety. Loved the maj jongg tile background! We'll be back.
Wu Chow did not meet the expectations that we had going in. The service was great, but everything else was either just adequate or underwhelming. We had the egg rolls as an appetizer, which were long and thin, like a pencil. They tasted decent, but were nothing to write home about. We also had some of the Shanghai soup dumplings, which were one of the better parts of the meal. For our entrees, we had the twice cooked pork belly and the honey pecan gulf prawns. The latter was the best thing that we ordered, and I'd order it again if I went back. The twice cooked pork belly dish was a disappointment. The pork belly was shaved very thin, which seemed to take a lot of the enjoyment of eating it away. It was like it was cut with a mandolin. The flavor wasn't bad, but ultimately the dish was boring and I regretted picking it. The Sichuan braised eggplant that we had as a side was cooked well and pretty tasty.
Overall it just didn't seem like we got very much for the amount of money we spent, and we left feeling let down and wondering if we would even give it a second try.
This was an extraordinary experience. Each dish was a culinary delight. We loved every morsel. I wouldn’t miss the green beans, the honey pecan prawns, or the handmade steamed dumplings. I would return to Wu Chow’s charming front porch dining every night if I could. Austin’s finest!
Food was delicious. Fun night there.
My husband took me to Wu Chow to celebrate my birthday. The food was delicious and the staff was so kind. It was very busy and yet the staff wasn't even phased. We made a reservation for 8:30 and left at 9:50. We had appetizers and a full meal plus dessert. The only thing I would do differently is go earlier before they crank the music up. If I was going out with a large group of people that wouldn't bother me at all but because it was a more intimate occasion I wish it hadn't been so loud.
Also, the hostess was so sweet and friendly! Love Wu Chow!!
Can't wait to go again!
Best dim sum!
Best Dumplings!! Will return again in the near future!!
Making outside table reservations was a snap. Service was attentive and food was delicious. Try the beef potstickers!
Everything was wonderful and we can’t wait to come back!!!
Wu chow always has the best food, and the service is extremely outstanding.
Very accommodating for food allergies!
Always amazing! Love this place, the food is outstanding & vibe is unmatched.
One of my favorite spots to enjoy dinner and a beautiful night in Austin.
the food was great, wait time wasn’t too long (about 10 mins), and staff was really nice
I absolutely love the whole experience of Wu Chow. I brought my friend here for her birthday. It was her first time here. She absolutely loved it! The staff is always super friendly and attentive. Everyone goes above and beyond to ensure the best experience. Amazing! Thank you!
Why does this nice restaurant play loud rap music???
I love the dim sum at Wu Chow and I think if is really among the best in Austin. I think to make it superb and a 5+ they should supply small bowls and serving spoons (especially during Covid) and occasionally change out the dishes. Also the music is too loud for my taste. I go out for meals to socialize as well as eat good food and it is difficult to compete with the music.
The Shanghai soup dumplings are delicious.
The food was fantastic as were the drinks and the service. Highly recommend Wu Chow for all occasions but especially if you're looking for great Dim Sum!
Great food and spot, but overpriced for what they are.
We eat at Wu Chow 2-3 times a month and without a doubt this is the worst dinning experience we have ever had there in the last 3 years. I’m not sure if reopening to a higher capacity or maybe new wait staff impacted the service but it was really bad. We waited an hour for our second round of drinks after asking three times. Our waitress didn’t ask if we wanted the check, but she did deliver it after we sat with no food, or drinks and empty water glasses for 25 minutes. Extremely disappointed as we absolutely love Wu Chow, but maybe it’s time for a break!
Amazing restaurant! Our waitress was the BEST and the food was just as great. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Such an awesome dining experience.
Delicious food and great ambiance. Definitely get the pork and soup dumplings!
Two Words: SOUP DUMPLINGS.
BEWARE: Very addictive and yummy
Dim Sum for party of 7.
The Bloody Mulan was superb, I think I've found my bloody mary spot.
We really enjoyed the food. Most of it was reminiscent of dim sum in Chinatown in NYC.
The soup dumplings/char siu bao, har gow, and shumai were spot on.
The sticky rice was very large and more like fried rice, which was a miss for us.
The turnip cakes (we ordered crispy) were also a miss; they were too thick and had a fried panko-like crust.
The staff were very attentive and polite.
All in all, very happy with the experience!
Wu Chow is my favorite restaurant in Austin. Personable waitstaff, attentive co managed service, and premium quality food and recommendations. I've recommended this to several friends and had friends in town visiting and this is the restaurant I recommend to visitors. I HIGHLY recommend.
Food was excellent!
Fantastic. Great service. Amazing drinks and dinners.
Hit or miss, some of the food is mediocre at best.
The outside patio was nice, the service was good but we had to flag down waitstaff for anything we needed. Overall it was good though.
Great food! Very nice restaurant. Will be back.
DimSum brunch on Sunday was a blast! Great food, drinks and ambiance!
