James was serving us with class and warmth.
We really had a perfect evening. We are planning to return for sure.
We went for lunch and the atmosphere was great. Easy to hear each other speaking without shouting but not so quiet to make it uncomfortable. The food was fresh and well presented and great tasting.
I was very impressed with both the Food, Ambiance and Staff at this wonderful restaurant. The décor in this restaurant is warm and inviting, conversation was easy and our waiter was very attentive. We tried a variety of dishes including the Duck Breast, Burger and Tuna plus every side dish including a crispy kale that was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion - this is place is on my list of favourites!
The food is soooooo amazing!!! We can't stop thinking about our meals. The restaurant has such a great look to it also. We loved everything about our visit. :)
I have been to Woods before and enjoyed the experience so I was looking forward to a return visit with clients. However, my expectations were sadly disappointed. The service was poor. There were four of us and three drinks were served and the staff seemed more focused on setting up the chairs for a large party than attending to us and correcting the issue. We waited, conservatively, thirty minutes for the appetizer. Then, the fire alarm sounded (which I completely understand was not their fault). It did ring though for 20-30 minutes. The main course finally arrived and it was cold. At this point, I could not be bothered sending back given this was a business event and time was an issue. I will not be returning regardless if this was a one off event.
Had an amazing meal and experience at Woods. They serve authentic Canadian fare and it is prepared exquisitely. The staff is attentive without hovering which is a very refined skill. Would highly recommend this eatery if you are in the Toronto area !
Really great date night! Food was spectacular. Service spot on and made us feel special. Thank you!
My spouse and I had a pleasant meal and fully enjoyed our evening. Thought the organic greens salad, Digby scallops and the halibut dishes were especially nice. Had the NY strip steak, which I seldom have. It was cooked to my specification (medium rare)....so my lack of excitement for this menu item is not a reflection on the kitchen, just my dislike for this cut of steak. Wine list was decent, albeit a bit pricey for the offerings.
They accommodated our group of 8 easily and provided great service. Appreciated their recommendations for dishes and sipping Rye Whiskey (new to me). Made for a wonderful family reunion.
Just went out after dinner, the food was very good, nothing memorable, the place was very nice, service was attentive, parking is close by, nothing bad to speak of, but nothing to rave about.
We had a large group of 8 people, and they didn't miss a beat. The food came out quickly but not rushed, and the staff was attentive to every need. I had the elk, and it was melt in your mouth good! I'd definitely go back on my next visit to Toronto.
Amazing food, ambiance, and service. World class restaurant. Can’t say enough good things about this find. I was at the Omni and found it on open table. Great place to take a small group of 2-4.
Worst restaurant experience ever, and I've been to Applebee's. I was very excited to eat here, since I love discovering everything Canadian. When we got there the waiter seemed friendly enough at the beginning, making a few recommendations, and the greeter/hostess was a gem, actually. But the food was just not prepared well. I went with a friend, and we ordered scallops and foie gras to start. I generally like foie gras but found theirs disappointing, served on a tiny piece of bread. The scallops had a nice sear at the top, but were unfortunately uncooked at the bottom. When we mentioned the under-cooked scallops to the waitstaff, all we were told was, "we've never had complaints before." Then the main course came--I had tuna, which looked OK but I didn't really get to try it as my companion's fish order was cooked firm on the outside but raw on the inside. I couldn't believe it, and I wish I'd taken a picture of it but at that point all she wanted to do was leave. The waiter wouldn't even make eye contact with us after seeing and hearing our displeasure, though as I mentioned, the greeter came over and was incredibly kind to us, I must say. She seemed very sincere in her apologies, but it just wasn't enough, so we tipped the busboy (not the waiter!) and left. It was quite an uncomfortable experience, I am very glad it is over. If you've been to this restaurant and did not like it, trust me, this is not a typical Canadian experience. I had chosen to take my friend here and was quite embarrassed. Too bad. Also, the place was quite loud, so if you're looking for a quiet experience you likely won't find it there.
The hostess, our server Rachel, and everyone else we came in contact with were great. We were treated very well with friendly, prompt service and the food was fantastic. Would highly recommend this restaurant, we do plan on returning.
Wonderful experience, food was great and so was the wine! Definitely recommend the crispy kale - melts in your mouth!
The restaurant was not very crowded, the staff were very friendly and accommodating with menu customisation. Surprise amuse bouche was fantastic, almost better than the ordered menu items. Service was great and food was good. Yellow fin tuna could have used a bit more salt, but overall a great meal.
Amazing Flank, excellent service.
Everything was great: food, wine, service. Ricardo when and extra mile and extended his hospitality even further by treating our team to a special club cocktail experience!
Our server was great, however dinner took way too long to arrive, the only app our table had was oysters and dinner was delivered a few minutes after 9, we got there at 730. My steak was over done and the veggies very very oily. The server did compensate with a glass of wine, very thoughtful. The chicken cordon bleu was cold, the other two dishes seemed good.
Amazing restaurant with absolutely outside service! The staff will always take care of you in any way possible. Everyone is very polite and friendly and and ensures that you have the best experience you can. The food is amazing and everything tastes very comforting yet unique at the same time! The main with with chicken was amazing! The cocktails were unique as well and quite tasty. I would definitely recommend Woods to anyone and everyone, its such a wonderful experience and perfect for an occasion with family or friends!
Went for lunch, 12:30, you ran out of two menu items, halibut and oysters I believe, that was disappointing. I had carpaccio for an app, way too small of a portion. Service was very good. Compared to other spots in the neighbourhood you are on the pricey side.
excellent food and service
A ‘hidden’ gem in Toronto. Very good attentive service and great food of European finesse.
The food and service were great!
We went to Woods based on the reviews. We weren’t disappointed. James was great. Very attentive staff. Nice atmosphere, great drinks and delicious food.
Food was good but expensive for what it was. Service and ambiance were perfect.
Our dinner at Woods was outstanding. We had a prime table and the food was excellent. Our waiter matched up the wines perfectly with each our of courses. For starters, we had soup, beef carpaccio and oysters and for our mains the elk and chicken cordon blue. To say our plates were clean at the end of the meal would be an understatement. Excellent. While we didn't have desert, we were having such an enjoyable time that we stayed around to enjoy some craft beers to finish our evening.
I would highly recommend Woods.
Food got better with ever bite. Limited menu but it offers something for everyone and is a great experience. Delicious cocktails and appetizers.
Lovely ambience. This is my second visit and would definitely come back.
Yummy as always. Service is exceptional.will return, of course
I would’ve loved more organic options, but the organic salad I had was delicious and everyone in our party loved their food. Ambiance & service were great. Would go again & have already recommended it to a friend.
Enjoyed this restaurant. Nice Canadian Flare. Very spacious unlike a lot of restaurants in Toronto these days which I find are quite cramped. Waiter was kind and efficient.
Woods is a gem. One of the most creative menus with food served with exceptional care. We look forward to our next meal!
Amazing food and service. Game meat and a seasonal menu were fantastic. For the price it was definitely worth it. Wine list was a little on the pricey side but overall the service and everything was perfect.
I went to this restaurant with my family while they were on vacation in Toronto and we absolutely loved it! Great food, great service, great decor, we loved it so much that we had to go back for dinner the night before my family returned home. Their watermelon salad and roasted corn ravioli is to die for! If you drive there is a parking lot right in front of the restaurant
The food is excellent and the level of service is top notch.
The service was disorganized and food was average.
What a wonderful restaurant. Our food was superb and the service fantastic. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice evening out with a partner or friends.
Duck was impeccable. I love that this restaurant adds little chef treats in between your orders
The food was excellent. Homemade ravioli was a highlight; very, very well done. It was nice to have a amuse bouche - nice touch. We were a little let down on the sustainability of the food sources but were able to order around that. Service was good. Venue is cute on a side street; romantic.
