WiseGuys Steak & Lounge
First visit to Hilton Head and to Wiseguys. Dined a bit early and upon arrival was surprised and disappointed to be seated in the bar and not the dining room. Very crowded and very, very noisy. Could not even have a quiet conversation accrue the table.
Server and food were excellent. New York strip done to perfection. Would recommend for the food but would only go back if assured of not being seated in the bar.
Great food and service. Quality and size of portion very good. Service great, but no real followup for drinks etc once meal served. Asked for additional bread and none received. Slow checking out.
I have enjoyed this resturant since it opened. Menue superb and house cabernet outstanding.
Love Wiseguys. Love the healthier menu selections. Hope you offer more in the future. Tried an espresso martini. They finally put some alcohol in it. Loved it.
Went for a birthday celebration. Food was fabulous. Martinis are very smooth. We had the flash fried calamari and shrimp that was tossed is a sweet and spicy sauce with a slaw on the side that accompanied the seafood nicely. We both had steaks with the 3 peppercorn rub. So flavorful! Served with whipped potatoes and seasoned green beans. Topped off with an Alamo’s skillet brownie.
Our only complaint was the noise level. We were in a back corner and we could hardly hear each other and even our server had troubles hearing us.
Other than that, everything was great and would highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food and service!!
Will definitely return again
If you are unsure where to take an out of town guest, you can’t go wrong taking them to WiseGuys.
Quickly becoming a favorite dining destination for us. Cocktails are great, menu choices are varied and the steaks (at least our filets) are excellent. Great ambiance in the dining room.
The food was amazing. I love the feel of the restaurant. It makes it different from other SERG restaurants. We will be visiting more often.
Always in the top 5 favorites!! Service is great, cocktails outstanding and food first class!
Enjoyed our meal. The pork chops and the filet was excellent. The chicken parm was also very good. Onion soup was alright. Have tasted better. The cream spinach was dry and tasteless. The thing that bothered us the most was every change there was an up-charge and the waitress did not tell us. This is not a cheap restaurant and to have an up-charge for getting spinach instead of peas or french fries instead of mash potatoes can really turn you off.
Salad was excellent yet, tiny in size. French onion soup was great. Our waitress knew we were planning to share yet said nothing about the portion size. Steak was excellent but, the Bearnaise sauce was very acidic. My husband's baked potato was cold. Our waitress was slow with our drinks and rarely checked on us.
My first time here after 15 summers on island and now permanent. Rachel was a lovely server and suggested items. She was very attentive. There was a large table next to us so the noise level on this evening was high. The food was delicious. Salad, small plates...perfect for when you don’t want a heavy meal...and yet the steak menu looked wonderful for when you do. I will return.
One of our favorite places to go to celebrate all our special occasions
Seated immediately, very nice room, lovely attentive staff. Food was excellent, perfectly prepared and great presentation.
Excellent chicken parmesan, good service. Tight seating though
Everything was great. We were greeted warmly the minute we walked in. Morgan and the rest of the servers were attentive. Bread was brought, we were asked if we had any questions, everyone was very nice. The food was great.
Great food and service
Great service and food was excellent and good value for price. Will go again.
Dinner out as a family
My wife's salad was supposed to have avocado and it didn't. We ordered 2 $9 molten chocolate cakes and it was at best the size of 2/3 a cupcake. Poor value for the money, probably won't be back. Excellent server.
We had made a reservation for New Years Eve, Dec.31, on Dec.16, requesting “quiet sitting away from high traffic area”in one of two dining areas in the restaurant. Our reservation was for 9:00pm and we arrived early. The back room is very quiet while the front area , near the entrance and bar are notoriously very busy. We are repeat patrons and live on the island. It is usually a wonderful dining experience but was not this time. We arrived early for our reservation and still waited, finally seated at 9:40pm.Prior the receptionist explained that there had been a medical emergency in the quiet dining room so there would be a additional delay unless we wanted to sit in the noisier front room. We deferred but watched other couples’ whose stated reservations were later than ours be seated ahead of us in that dining room . Once taken to our seats (40 minutes in), we were seated in the quiet dining room next to the waiter service area where the servers were back and forth to serve water, do set up etc, high traffic still. Again, I asked the hostess to be seated in one of two empty tables away from this high traffic area. She explained that they were reserved. No one ever occupied those tables. My husband ordered the She Crab soup appetizers that was too salty to eat and was sent back, uneaten. The waiter said that because of the lateness if the hour, now 10:40, the soup had “condensed “ leading to the saltiness. By now, without solicitation, the manager came to the table to apologize and “to thank us for our patience”. That was appreciated. He returned to explained that the steak that I had ordered, “the Chef was not satisfied with and replaced”. It was fine once I got it at almost 11:00pm. We ate quickly, and left at 11:30pm, with those 2 empty tables still unoccupied, quiet and away from the high traffic areas, as we had no intention of ringing in the new year there. By then the restaurant was almost empty. The manager offered us a free dessert but... really?
New Years eve
As usual Wise Guys was great for a nice dinner. We were there New Year's Eve which was also my wife's birthday. Since it was NYE the restaurant was busy and a little noisier than normal but it certainly didn't spoil the dinner. Ashleigh did a wonderful job as our server but WG always has many people helping out. The food was terrific and perfectly prepared. I like steak served very rare and that was exactly how it was served. Her lobster tail was nicely presented. The accompaniments were also very good. The only negative of the evening was that the chairs were too low for the table where we were sitting.
The goat cheese polenta was a must have! I’d go back just for that.
I had the pork chop. Don’t like their small plates. Chop was delicious but instead of the potatoes I had the wild mushrooms.
I grew up in Hilton Head and Wiseguys has always been a favorite of mine. On my trip home, I knew I had to take my husband there for the first time. However, the food did not live up to our expectations or what I have come to know from Wiseguys. The steaks were not as flavorful as usual but they were cooked well. The charcuterie board was small and not “the norm” and then croutons for the Caesar were burnt to a crisp rather than soft and yummy! The restaurant was slow and behind in the kitchen which I think had a lot to do with it. I know the situation I had at Wiseguys was not normal and my husband is absolutely willing to give it another try on our next trip down there!
Salmon was fabulous!
The food was great
It was my parents anniversary and they treated them so well!! Thank you Wiseguys!
We had a group of 12 for Christmas Eve dinner. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The only problem was that me as the host, was the only one who had an over cooked steak. It will not keep me from coming back, we enjoy it too much!
We are regulars at Wise Guys. Love the food, wine, and service. This trip, I had the special seafood dish - black bass (a local fish) and risotto. My wife’s short rib was very fatty and, upon complaining, was immediately returned and promptly replaced by our server. Second rib was perfect. We even splurged and had bananas foster for dessert. It was scrumptious. All in all, another great evening.
Great food and service was outstanding
Hoping WiseGuys was just having an off night. We can usually count on WiseGuys for a special meal and having consistent great service and food, but all of our filets were cold and not cooked to temperature. Our server was very nice but had several missteps. The wonderful personable manager from NJ wasn’t there. Hoping she was just on vacation as she always ran a tight ship and the other managers just weren’t as good. We used to always count on WiseGuys for our special family meals. Hope we still can...
Great place just a little noisy but food and service was great
Great wine selection the steaks were awesome!
Wise Guys is our “go-to” dinner location. Great management, great staff, best Chef (Chaun) on Hilton Head Island. Continuously revise the Specials and the menu is eclectic and imaginative. And all your moods are covered, from inventive appetizers to unique small plates right up to the high-end entrees. Aged, premium meats and the freshest seafoods. Even once you are inside you get differing environments from a vibrant bar scene to club like seating and finally to a quieter back room dining area.
Wise Guys is one of our favorite "go to" dinner restaurants on HHI. Great, attentive service (Josh). Consistently good food and drink. We live within 15 miles and really enjoy going to HHI during the winter months when traffic is not a problem. We do also look forward to continue supporting the SERG Group's expanding operations in Bluffton and we would like the SERG Group to renew their efforts to support the Sun City Community Theatre in the upcoming year.
Love coming to WiseGuys. Food is exceptional and the place is always crowded. You'll need reservations.
Food delivery was a little disjointed...appetizer came after salads. My salad was supposed to have filet served on top and didn’t, but was subsequently corrected. Otherwise definitely no complaints about the food. Hangar steak was excellent as was my filet/salad. We were seated in bar area and it was quiet on a Monday night even with a holiday office party eventually seated near us. Hardest part was finding the restaurant in the dark and with us being new visitors to HHI. Would definitely return though!
We both had the 6 oz tenderloin that was properly prepared and very tender.
