Another GREAT evening at Wise Guys. Led by Danny the waiter team were fabulous!
Very good food and service but dining chairs too old, low and not cushioned well
Wise guys is one of our favorite places to dine while visiting Hilton Head. We usually go early and decided if we want to do the Early Dining menu. Unfortunately, on this occasion, there was a couple with three small children in the middle of the restaurant when we arrived and another couple with a crying baby came in shortly thereafter.
Hard to enjoy a $100 meal when you feel like you are at McDonald’s! The food at Wise Guys is always great and the ambiance is usually good. The service is usually better than it was this time so will give them a pass for doing the best they could with a couple of unfortunate situations and will go back on our next visit.
Trying to please our family of 8 can be a challenge, but I heard nothing but rave reviews from everyone around the table. Our server was amazing, answering questions and making suggestions, chatting happily with us. The small plates are delicious and much larger than expected. Seafood is fresh and well prepared. Whimsical plating, a talented chef, top-notch staff, and excellent management. And a great wine selection too!
Very nice venue. Food and service very good with a light open dining layout with spotless mirrors around the walls giving a feeling of lots of space and reflecting the light.
We are over from UK and ate here last time we were in Hilton Head a couple of years ago. Excellent experience on both occasions.
We had the She Crab Soup, the Porchinni and Ricotta Ravioli, and the Lobster Rissoto. All were excellent as was the service. The wine selection was amazing. I had an Italian Pinot Gris.
Good steaks and attentive service. Would not hesitate to return.
Our steaks were delicious, perfectly cooked. Sides were all wonderful.
My steak and my wife's meal were delicious but our guest did not enjoy his tenderloin based on the way it was prepared. We were not aware of it until after all of our plates were being removed. I should add we all loved the bread pudding.
Terrific food and great service! We loved it! Will definitely be back.
Would give 5 stars but the steak on the early bird was more like London broil in texture, taste, and appearance. Otherwise what I expect from a Serge Restaurant. (always good)
Excellent dinner. Unfortunately, we had to sit in the bar area as there was a wine dinner in the main restaurant area. That was my fault, I should have checked. The service was very good. My only complaint: my dish was whisked away while I was still chewing my last bite. I don’t like that, my husband was still eating.
Our dinning experience was fabulous. My husband loved his prime Rib and I ordered a chicken dish that was so delicious, creamed spinach to die for and the starter which was Mediterranean hummus olives etc. was absolutely amazing. I was stuffed after eating that and had to take half my dinner home. Awesome experience and next time we are visiting Hilton Head we would definitely dine here again. Inga the waitress was sweet and accommodating. GREAT Experience...
In our opinion, one of the Best Dining Options on the Island
Food very good; wait service was very slow, made mistakes on order, and not up to standards one expects from this restaurant.
great service, amazing food. will recommend to friends and will definitely be back
Wise guys never disappoints. It is one of our favorites on the island!
Very nice, with great food and service
Nice dinner but was expecting more from the reviews. I thought it was more like a steak house. The ambience was ok. We ordered a drink special and was disappointed in it (cosmos that tasted like Hawaiian Punch) but the waitress was super nice and took them away and brought us other drinks. So no complaints there. Food was good; risotto was a bit rich for me but some might like that heavy cream and salads were very good. I thought the prices were very good too.
Very good food. Service was okay, but less than expected for the price.
Our fav restaurant for special occasions. Good not great this visit. Kitchen slow, off. My fav beet salad missing components (I’ve ordered dozens times so I know). They forgot son’s filet sliders, came late and over cooked. Ravioli dish tasted good but was luke warm. Shrimp & Grits good. Waitress initially friendly but got attitude when I told her my salad was missing dressing and showed her dry plate. We were celebrating son’s bday and she basically dropped dessert on table and walked off, awkward. I guess she was mad because I pointed out salad was wrong? We missed Sam, always the professional. Girls at front didn’t say goodnight, thank us when we left. Might be time to find new place to spend $200+ on dinner elsewhere.
The server recommended a steak. When it arrived, it was entirely cold and the cut of meat was fatty and chewy. The $5 side of asparagus was 4 stalks. Ridiculous. Avoid avoid avoid.
After a simple garden salad and some delicious bread I enjoyed the lobster risotto. My husband always orders the short ribs and is never disappointed.
Really good steak and best creamed spinach we ever had.
Perfect meal Great food Great service Great Wine selection
Took 3 visitors from out of town, and this place pleased everyone since their orders were quite varied. My food was outstanding; had a daily fish special. The service was impeccable and the courses were timed just right. I usually choose a wine without help, but let the server guide me and he did a terrific job. Am not always please with the SERG restaurants, but this place is reliably a terrific place.
Great food and the lemon drop martinis were the beat
Good food, pleasant ambiance and very friendly service. Wise Guys is a great spot for a celebration!
All 5 guests were pleased with their dinners. What is especially nice is the early dining option. We all look forward to returning. Server was helpful and attentive.
We had made reservations for our rather large party of 7 for Thursday evening. The restaurant was busy when we arrived, but not "packed". Our group was seated in a corner by the door. The music and noise level was LOUD. We could not have a conversation at the table without shouting. Our table consisted of four two tops pushed together. Therefore, the surface was uneven and it was difficult to place shared plates of appetizers and our drinks. We were directly under an airconditioning duct and that increased our dis-comfort.
Once seated we were given water promptly but had to wait over 25 minutes for 1 soda, 3 cocktails, and a bottle of wine. There was also a lengthy delay in receiving our food; and when we did receive it 4 out of 5 steaks were under-cooked. The fifth steak was properly cooked, (medium-well), but cold. Three were sent back: something you are hesitant to do at a restaurant with a questionable kitchen. The fish and chicken entries were okay. Our server came to check on us once, when we informed her of our disappointment with the steaks and did not return.
We were there for over two hours, spent a considerable amount of money, and had some issues which required attention, yet a manager never came to our table to apologize or even discuss the food.
We were all very disappointed, but attributed it to the transient dinner clientele of the location. Most of the diners are not repeat customers and it seems as though no real effort is put forth in satisfying the customer.
Oh, our diverse group, all from out of state, included a retired restauranteur, a chef, a doctor, a land developer, and the owner of a chain of retail stores.
The seating for a reservation was limited and as a result a little disappointing for a Thursday night at a steakhouse. Chairs were to low next to tables off the bar area. Small plates creativity were a great choice to match the seating arrangement and availability. Sitting where we were placed would not intice us to order steaks or big meals.
We enjoyed two different seafood dishes. Each one was well prepared and very tasty. The grouper and grits combined with the sauteed mushrooms and spinach was mouthwatering. The MahiMahi was excellent and the combination of brussel sprouts and potatoes was an excellent complement.
The New York strip steak I had was OK but apparently they did away with the dry aged beef and you can definitely tell a difference in the quality and taste.
Good but not too memorable. But a solid dinner choice for your night out of wanting a steak
I have already placed my Tripadvisor review regarding this restaurant and as always, it never disappoints.
always my favorite restaurant when i go to HH but this i was not as pleased with the selection i got. just did not seem up to the standard that i have come to expect here. maybe i just selected the wrong special item.
WiseGuys was great! Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. The steaks were awesome, the salmon was top-notch, and the creamed spinach is a must-have.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. It was our first time there and we will definitely be back.
I have been to Wise Guys before and LOVED the food and service. We had always come too late for the early bird so ordered off the regular menu or the daily specials. This time we came pre-theater and made it for the early bird. Our guests commented that the she crab soup was overly salty, as was the meat in the pasta dish. I found my salmon bland and tasteless. A server brought the wrong dish to my husband, who had to wait for his meal to be served until after the other diners had begun eating.
I had looked forward to wowing my guests with this restaurant, based upon previous experience, but we were all disappointed by the early bird. I won't be ordering off the early bird menu again.
We were greeted by a hostess who said she did not have our reservation. And we would have to wait an hour for a table. This was even after we showed the hostess our email from OpenTable. However, outdoor seating was available, so we sat down immediately. We were given water and then totally ignored for 20 minutes. A server came by, Nancy, and said that it must have been someone else’s table, but she would help us. From that point on, she was excellent. The food was delicious, and we would definitely return.
