Wind & Sea Restaurant
We serve fresh fish selections daily as well as Alaskan King Crab Legs, lobster tail, shrimp, steaks, pasta, and vegetarian dishes along with an extensive wine list which has been awarded a Wine Spectator Award annually for the last six years.
Monday through Friday we have Hawaiian Happy Hour from 4:00 to 7:00 featuring our world famous Mai Tai's as well as draft beer, wine and food specials. Live entertainment on Friday and Saturday, as well as plasma and big screen TV's, keep the lounge exciting at all times.
The waterfront open-air patio serves the full menu and is heated at night, perfect for an order of nachos and a margarita or a full dinner under the stars. Private banquet facilities accommodate 20 to 100.
Always a pleasure to sit on the patio on a summer afternoon and watch the boats coming and going in the harbor. We both enjoyed a salad with grilled shrimp. The shrimp were grilled just right, not over cooked. We live in the area and a trip to this restaurant is like a vacation day.
No warm fuzzies. Food was okay, service was very good. Music level is obnoxious.
Great afternoon. Food was great and we had a window seat. Restaurant is older but we had a wonderful time. Looking forward to going back.
Great food and atmosphere. Live music at night. Would definitely come back again. Great date night.
Nice spot on the water. Drinks and food are good.
Excellent food, view and server. Server Michelle was fabulous!
An extraordinary location, with overall average food at reasonable prices. Service was satisfactory.
Ambiance, fabulous location and terrific views of the bay, great food....what more can one say. Also, good parking is available.
EXCELLENT!! ALWAYS CONSISTENT! ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS THERE IS.
The restaurant is rather established with an older clientele. I went for lunch during the week which may be why.
The menu was expansive although I should have inquired as to their payment policies simply because I was hosting a business lunch and when I attempted to pay with my AMEX Business Card, they informed that they did not accept??? VERY ODD for an Open Table/beach restaurant and a very high travel destination! I will NOT be visiting this restaurant again if this is the case!
The waitress was excellent and very attentive, the food was ok and the manager was very kind and open to my criticism of their policies and as accommodating as he could be! The owner needs to re-evaluate his business policies and Open Table should be ashamed for offering a restaurant with such limited offerings!
Service was excellent.
Food was very disappointing. The Sea Bass looked like it had been cooked earlier in the day then reheated. The asparagus was over cooked and slimy.
Buffet is a bad idea, from the point of view of customers. I am sure that management and staff make more. :(
My fish was very dry. My husbands crab was 3 small pieces dried out for $30. Maybe this place is only good for hamburgers.
Artichoke was undercooked. Clam chowder tasted like canned. Drinks were tasteless. Fish was cooked well.
We each had a glass of wine at 1.5 times the retail price of a bottle.
Aside from excellent food. you get a view of the Dana Point Marina..
Truly magnificent view. Hint : ask for window seat.
Generous portions - nice view of the harbor entrance.
The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly! Wait staff was very friendly.
Very loud for a Sunday afternoon. Had a very pleasant server but he just seemed too busy to get our requests met.
Good selection for Sunday brunch. Nice view of water from the outside patio. Service was pleasant, helpful and professional. Parking is easy with inexpensive valet. "Wind and Sea", dont mess it up by changing what you're doing. Thank you.
This is the best kept secret in OC. Usually easy to get in for Sunday Brunch. We made a reservation for Father's Day and had expected it to be jammed packed. We were very surprised when we were taken right to our table, even with a line out the door. Making a reservation is KEY!! Food and Service was excellent.
We had an early dinner. The views were great and fun watching the boats come in. The king crab legs were awesome. The calamari was not what we were expecting- it was large like a fish and coated in bread crumbs and not like the crunchy appetizer we were accustomed to. The service was great.
Great service, they didn't found my OpenTable reservation, but still got seated right away, and in a perfect table. Our food arrived fast, it was well presented and hot, and great tasting. We tried the New England Clam Chowder, The Cobb Salad, Hawaiian Chicken and I got the Seafood Pasta.
I had the Mahi mahi with fruit salsa and the fish was bone dry. I was so very disappointed. I had a business colleague visit from Chicago and sent $100 on lunch between the 2 of us. I've been to windansea many many times... but this was sure,y under par.
Sat outside at Noon on 6/10/19.
Tablecloths, which aren’t Linen are very sticky. They should be cleaned after each guest. Not just wiped off with “clean” rag.
Nice view. Good service. But the food left a lot to be desired. I guess you can get away with it when the average age of the clientele is about 60 years old. The food was both dated and plain.
The halibut special with tempura asparagus is delicious znd a beautiful. We've dined here at Wind & Sea twice in the most recent 4weeks, The halibut presentation is gorgeousl however both times the meal was lukewarm. Needs to be hotter and servers need to ensure when meal is completed by chef that food is brought to table and served immediately. We got the feeling both visits that our meals were sitting on the ledge under a heat lamp or just sitting because even the potatoes and sauces were lukewarm
Took out our family members while on a visit. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The waiter was very attentive. One party member ordered the seafood pasta, which was very full of different types of seafood, another member had a steak and lobster, my spouse had the swordfish and I had the halibut. Overall everyone had a lovely meal. Will be back again!
Was hoping for a special evening.....however nothing special.
Liked our server; she recommended an excellent beer
Wonderful view, great buffet selection, expert omelet makers, loco moco was superb, good service, and overall a super experience we will repeat!
Everything was great except the food. They can cook seafood, but when it comes to chicken, they failed and burned it. Chicken tasted like charcoal.
Amazing view right on the water. Service was very attentive and, while we all ordered something different, we all enjoyed our choices. Can’t wait to go back!
The servers are always so friendly and helpful.....very good management and hiring practices. Have been
going to Wind and Sea for years.....never a misstep. Thank you!
Omg the cheese burger was amazing and the ambiance was incredible
A perfect setting to enjoy all that California has to offer
The Sunday brunch had terrible food that the restaurant should have been embarrassed to serve. First of all there was no flow to the food line. The fruit selection was minuscule. The hot food was terrible eg the serving spoons were so filthy we were afraid to use them. The muffins on the eggs benedict were uncooked; and the onions in the Obrien potatoes were raw. The omelette line was so long that we skipped it.
Should have gone to a finer restaurant or club!
