We had a fun time tasting all of the different small plates. Teenagers and adults were so impressed…and super full by the time we left. It’s amazing how much good, creative and diverse plates they put out. And quickly with super friendly staff.
Overall another great experience at Willi's Wine Bar! We had not been back since before the pandemic and had a fun time with friends!
Excellent food and great service. Will return next time we are in town.
Our server was incredibly on top of everything. Big price tag for little lunch, I had forgotten.
The food was fabulous and the staff is 5 star professional. The whole experience was wonderful.
We hadn't been to Willi's since the previous location had been destroyed during the fire in Santa Rosa. The new location is bright and airy and most of the favorite small plates are still on the menu but at higher prices which is to be expected. The wine selections are varied and the tasting flights are a favorite way to enjoy new wines.
We have a minor quibble: we ordered the liver pate which came with a few thin slices of baguette. We asked for more bread and then waited for over 10 minutes to receive a few more slices. We were seated in view of the kitchen and were certain that one of the prep staff could have easily sliced the baguette and sent it to our table.
Great drinks and food. Excellent service. Comfortable seating.
More spacious than the other Willi’s but same great food and service. Enjoyed and will return.
My visits to Willie's wine bar are always excellent. Great staff great service awesome food it's always a good time great wine list and now they have a bar that they didn't used to have before they burnt down thank you Willis, great experience.
I chose this place based on reviews and recs and we were really disappointed. The food was bland and the service left much to be desired. We were sadly very underwhelmed, particularly with the flavoring of the food.
The food is amazing, wine selection a bit limited and pricey for a 5 oz. pour. Still a great place to go.
Wonderful ambiance for a delicious late lunch gathering of girlfriends. Food is always delicious and waitstaff experienced and enjoyable. Many interesting food choices both for foodies and less adventurous palates-
This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Santa Rosa. The service is excellent, stuff is so nice and the food is absolutely delicious! And don't let that small plates menu fool you... The servings are really generous!!!
After Willi's reopened, we dined there and thought it was not as good as it had been, and certainly the new spot lacks the charm of the original venue. We tried it again, and I would say we're unlikely to go back. The food was maybe okay, but mostly missed the mark. The fried calamari was barely sauced (it needed a dipping sauce on the side). The pork belly pot stickers were each filled with an unappealing glob of shredded pork belly -- dense and uninteresting. Worst, the Tunisian carrots (one of our go-to dishes) were made with huge carrots that did not take at all well to this recipe -- simply an unacceptable ingredient (the main ingredient) for the dish. Is anyone paying attention to quality control here? Sad to see this happen to what had been one of our favorites for years.
Willi’s has been a long time absolute favorite. But twice now in the new location we’ve been seated on the side patio and it’s seriously diminished the experience. It’s barren, cold, loud, and for a while we were the only people out there (because everyone else asked to be seated somewhere else, and if they couldn’t be accommodated they left) so it was isolating. The food remains our favorite in a 30 mile radius, but we likely won’t go again if that’s where we’re going to be seated. Hopefully, someone will add some character, softness and style to this space so it has the outdoor charm of the old location. Then I’m sure we’ll adore all of it again!
Although we will always miss the original location, we really enjoyed being able to return to dining out at one of our favorite spots in Santa Rosa. We tried three of the newer dishes on the menu, flash-fried calamari, fava bean bruschetta and asperagus in cause grebiche, as well as old favorites Tracy's almonds and mu shu bacon. We also had a few oysters with an excellent cilantro mignonette. All the food was good; the calamari was especially fine. The bruschetta need to be eaten right away; we let it sit a little while waiting for our wine, and they got a little soggy. (They were still delicious, just not as crunchy as you might want.) We had three wine flights -- sauvignon blanc, rosé and pinot noir -- being able to share 2 oz pours of a variety of wines is one of our favorite things about dining here.
We enjoyed the dinner and everything but the sliders. They were not easy to hold to eat.
We probably should have known our lunch was doomed when we saw the chef, apparently unexpectedly by the way the hostess asked,”where are you going?”, leave the restaurant shortly after we sat down.
Simply put, the warm skillet bread arrived at our table still cold inside, refrigerator cold. With the exception of the halibut, the rest of the dishes didn’t fair much better nor did the level of service.
On a positive note, the wine was good, both in taste and value as was the cocktail.
Will we go back? Perhaps, with the hopes it was an off day.
Love Willis and now they have a full bar, total bonus!
Each small plate was delicious and well presented. We never felt rushed or had to wait too long between each dish. Planning on returning soon.
Wonderful meal except the mac and cheese took an exceptionally long time to arrive. Also I think the avocado was kept too cool as it was fairly brown but tasted OK.
All in all I would recommend Willi's as these are minor criticisms and did not detract from the excellent service and superb taste of our orders. Noise level was only a problem due to my husband's hearing device which unfortunately picks up all the background noises but it could have been worse had we been seated indoors rather than the side patio.
Do not hesitate to eat at Willi's Wine Bar, and the wine list also rocks!
Service was very slow. Stuck in a corner and no ambiance at all.
I really enjoyed the food. The service and value was excellent. Only thing that I could say that I would have wanted differently would have been a bit more private. Other than that it’s a very good place to try many dishes in small portions.
The food ans service were increase. And the gluten free menu and staff awareness were impeccable!!!
we cannot wait to go back. Consistently good food and terrific wine selections.
Our mixed drinks arrived after our meal arrived. Felt rushed in beginning. Usually with finer dining the drink order placed first and you get a chance to toast and look at menu. In this case service showed up and wanted both drink and food order. Essentially no service showed up to take our drink order. This was first time here so felt a little let down by this.
Our waiter was absolutely perfect (I wish I had asked his name). Food was delicious, we remarked on all the different flavors. A lovely dining experience:-)
Delicious food as always and extraordinary service.
Great selection for little bites to share and enjoy different types. The wine selection is excellent especially the “flights”.
Great server but front desk staff were too busy to acknowledge us for quite a bit
As always, up to its usual high standards! Looking forward to my next meal there!
Excellent service and food as well!
The recommended wine and number of dishes suited our party of two perfectly. Ahi poke, scallop dumplings, goat cheese frittatas, pork belly pot stickers, & prime rib sliders all rich and delish!!!
Will return again on our next visit to Santa Rosa
Only short coming was young lady that served us was not very friendly.
It was our first evening out after being vaccinated and it was so sweet! We moved to the neighborhood last August and have been wanting to go and we can’t wait to get back! The service was very thorough and kind. We loved the food and wine pairings and enjoyed the patio seating! Thank you, we’ll be back soon!
Service was friendly and patient, very accommodating.
Food was good; staff are extremely nice and accommodating, and appropriately masked. Great quiet outdoor dining tables, plenty of seating. A nice place for a birthday lunch!
Great food and interesting wine list. Very good service. However the chairs for inside dining are the most uncomfortable chairs we have ever encountered anywhere. This stopped us from lingering after dinner. Could not sit a minute longer in those chairs.
Great meal and great location!
I hope our bad experience is due to the reopening pains related to Covid as I have had several wonderful experiences here in the past. Service &food quality fell below expectations for our early lunch. I really hope this restaurant makes it back to their pre-pandemic greatness soon.
Great service, atmosphere, food and wine. Lots of outdoor seating and open and clean for indoor seating. Will definitely return.
