Willi's Wine Bar
Wow!! Food fantastic, choice of wine is unparalleled. Service friendly, but the restaurant was understaffed. The waitress was working very hard to be attentive to us. We tried MANY DIFFERENT wines thanks to plentiful 2 oz pours available. Some of the wines had lost their flavor because they had been sitting too long. Maybe they need to invest in some kind of argon gas option? Overall an amazing experience for wine lovers and foodies - this place needs a Michelin star. So glad they reopened!!
Incredible, as always! The food was just as outstanding as it’s always been. Loved it!
Very nice meal. The beef sliders delicious but 2 messy .
As usual when you get earlier reservations the food comes too fast and that always upsets me.
noise level very bad .
GOOD LUCK You will see us again Frank
Wanted to try the new location and eating outside st 11:30 was nice.
Surprise was the small amount of food in the “small plates.” The pork ribs were served in a small round dish and included about 5 tiny one bite pieces. Good flavor just not enough!
Wine prices too high for very average wine !
Nice lunch with friends but we won’ be back
Great experience. Same great food as old location. Extremely loud inside. Great service.
Food great, too loud indoors, needs cocktails!
We were very happy to visit the new Willi’s! The food is fabulous and the service was great. That said, it is very noisy inside!
Thanks for having a couple of vegan options. Our waitperson was great.
The new iteration of Willi's lacks the coziness and sense of tradition the old one did, but the food and service are still superb!! The noise level inside is too loud for anyone with a hearing aid.
Amazing! Did not disappoint.
Everything was great except the noise level.
Great service had a new server did a good job
It's great to have this gem back. The food is just as great.
The noise level seemed too high and made if difficult to talk.
Fun but not a place for conversation: lots of hard surfaces make for extreme noise. Lobster gnocchi and scallops dumplings very tasty. Jumbo asparagus soft and way overdone. Lamb chops tasty but extremely fatty. Good to have them back but improvements to be made.
Went for our anniversary. Love the location (neighborhood restaurant). We also like the tapas approach (lots of different flavors). Probably didn't need to order as many plates (we ordered 6 while 4 or 5 would have been enough for two of us).
Lacks the charm, ambiance of the original - noise level very disturbing. Food excellent as was service- will wait a while before returning in hopes it will be less crowded and noisy .
Excellent selection of small plates. Server provided good guidance on quantities and the only complaint was that we had to send the lamb chops back to be cooked more - they were served too raw/pink for our palates.
Nice choice of wine. Excellent salads. We were 4 and shared everything. Will come again if we are in the area.
Parking is easy - location is suburban shopping center and the remodel of the space is attractive.
Perfection as always!
So glad Willis is back! It is gorgeous, and we live the new location. Had the lamb chops for lunch last Saturday and they were even better than we remembered! Ate at the bar last Friday—wonderful server!—and enjoyed everything. But a few “notes@ on the food. The oysters weren’t our favorites—a little too large, and we didn’t care for them pre-sauced; the green bean salad was a bit over-dressed, and the truffle fries were fine, but just ordinary... Don’t get me wrong—we LOVE this place and look forward to trying everything, and seeing how it all unfolds. It is only going ti get more fabulous. A great new space and a whole new era. Welcome back!!!
Wonderful! We were celebrating the reopening of our favorite restaurant! Beautifully done. Congratulations Terry and Mark🎉🥂
Outstanding in every respect. Stellar presentation of food, attentive service, welcoming ambiance.
Great to be back at Willi’s Wine Bar. Friendly people, very good service, yummy food and very nice wine list. Much like before.
However, the big difference from “before” is the ambiance. One big, LOUD room with rows of tables. Ouch - my ears! We had to make an effort to have a conversation with our table of four. I want to say I loved our time there. But it was not relaxing. In the end it was a relief to walk outside. Darn! How to fix this???
Over the top noisy inside. Some sound dampening panels need to be added. I was coughing alot because I was straining my voice to make voice loud enough to be heard over the amibient din. Next I will request a table outside if weather permits.
So happy they're open again. Prices are great, food selection and ease of understanding the menu is great, wine pairings are great. no complaints but a little loud inside. Wish outside was a little more cozy like the last location. Will definitely be going back.
For food: Had the goat cheese fritters (delicious), warm spinach salad (delicious), ahi tuna tartare (good), duck and polenta (great), and crepes (delicious). Definitely more than enough food for 2 people.
Noise level was extremely high even dining outside. Service was a little slow, two hours for dinner was unexpected.
I am thrilled that Willi’s moved to our neighborhood! We walked to dinner and the food was absolutely fantastic. Great wine choices too and excellent service. We will return again and again. My favorite restaurant in Santa Rosa.
Wilie's just reopened after the fires! It is better than ever! The burrata with fava beans & jumbo Asparagus are brand new! Wonderful. Of course, the old standbys like ahi tartare, moroccan carrots, crab tacos and many more are all wonderful. Bravo to Mark & Terry Stark and their great staff!
Everything as wonderful, as always, with all of your restaurants, just a little noisy with patrons, probably happy this one is back once again. Looking forward to coming back very soon.
We decided to try Willi's Wine Bar after hearing it had just reopened to a new location in a strip mall in Santa Rosa. This location lacks the gardens and relaxed ambiance from the former location. The decor was nice but didn't feel cozy like the original location. The restaurant was busy for a mid week luncheon.
The dining furniture was all new and the seats felt stiff for our senior group. We did notice that the sound level in the restaurant was on the louder side, maybe due to the lack of something to absorb the sound. Luckily, my mother in law forgot her hearing aids. We started off with a few items that we were familiar with. The oysters on a half shell with the Cilantro Mignonette was fresh with the right amount of balanced acidity, a must with bubbly. The baked oysters with leeks, parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs was also awesome. We were split 50/50 on which one was best. We were one of two tables in our area of the restaurant. For some reason the table next to us had a continuous flow of food arriving. I had to remind our waiter that we were still waiting on our third order, the flatbread with olive tempanade. The last time we dined at Willi's (pre-fire) we tried almost everything and over ate. The filet mignon sliders and truffle fries are to die for. After seeing the beef bone marrows coming out to another customer, I decided to save it for next time. The food is awesome, which keeps us coming back. Don't over eat, save room for dessert!
So good, as usual! Gorgeous ambiance. Opened just in time for our anniversary! Great job! Definitely missed you guys!
Mark and Terri Stark have faithfully re-created the menu and vibe of Willi's from the ashes of the original restaurant, now set in a downtown Santa Rosa neighborhood marketplace. Willi's trademark small plates (often with unusual ingredients or flavors) are great for sharing with the table. The adventure continues with an eclectic international wine list, including a blind tasting flight where the wine is revealed on the bottom of the wine glass coaster.
My favorite dish so far is the mu shu pork belly crepes with 5 spice bbq sauce - smoky, meaty, crunchy, with plenty of sauce.
LOVE!!! So happy they have re-opened!!
We are so happy that Willi's has reopened - it has always been our favorite place for small plates with great wine. We will miss the old funky location, but the new location is one of our favorite little shopping areas and is right in town. We are very familiar with the spaces they took over and they did a great job remodeling this into the perfect neighborhood restaurant. The menu has the same favorites with a few new dishes that we are looking forward to trying next time we go.
Soooo glad Willis is open again. It was soo missed. Great food and service as expected.
Love the new Willi’s , so glad they are back in the neighborhood
So happy Willi’s Wine Bar is back!! Great food, excellent service-highly recommended!! The new space is beautiful!
Glad to see Willi’s wine bar back in business. Has always been one of my favorites and missed them terribly this last 19 months the food was superb as well as service as always
Great to see them rebound so successfully from losing the original and well loved location.
So thrilled to have Willi’s Wine Bar back in our neighborhood! Food, wine and service was outstanding. I will be back for more. The new space looks amazing too. Yay!
