One of the salads had a small worm crawling in it. The steak I ate was ordered medium and it came out medium well. It was rather dry.
Great food and excellent service. Will definitely be going back.
Great service and wonderful dining experience. Food is really very good. This is our special night your place to go.
My wife and I celebrated my birthday there and really enjoyed the meals. Our waiter was exceptional. I even got a complimentary piece of birthday cake. The only two spoilers, caused by the ongoing wine tasting fest, were the lack of parking space and the noise level in the normally relatively quiet dining room.
The prime rib dinners are very good. We asked to order the large portion and split it, which was OK. However they will not split in the kitchen, which made it a bit messy to deal with.
$200 including tip, 4 people, 1 drink each, three prime rib dinners, 3 extra salads, 1 vegetable side, & 1 escargot.
First time dining at Wildwood - very impressed with the menu and wine list. It’s a beautifully appointed restaurant with great service. Definitely put on your “to go” list.
server was terrific. Appetizers were delicious. Main course lacked attention to detail. Dover Sole had many bones and was too liquid-as if cooked with lots of ice from being frozen and too much tasteless sauce was added. Sadly it was not a delicious meal
A wonderful evening with family celebrating an anniversary. Service was excellent served with a smile. Waitress was helpful with her knowledge of the menu. Love this well run establishment. Sunday Brunch is a must if you like great service and a delicious menu.
hot, hot day but fairly pleasant at the patio...
good, fresh food....the eggie-vegetable mixed dish..
and my friend had the quiche...
very good bloody mary also
The quality of the steaks and chops has decreased over the past year. The sides we're not as good as previous times and the seafood fondue was watery and not creamy. With this recent experience we will be dinning elsewhere.
I have been to Wildwood many times. Generally I have been happy with it. It's fairly expensive, but sometimes you need to splurge for an occasion. This time, I was torn.
First the good things. The service was excellent. The ambiance was good. The waiter helped with wine selection and made an excellent choice. The food came out in a timely manner. All of the meat was cooked the requested amount. The desert (chocolate cake) was very good. The tomato bisque was universally enjoyed. The quality of the uncooked meats was excellent. The manager/owner stopped by to check on things. The bread and butter that came before dinner was quite good. The portions were generous. The mashed potatoes were good.
Now some of the downsides. Most of the people at the table thought that the meat was over-seared before being cooked. The charcoal-ing was a bit much. The French onion soup had excellent bread and cheese, but the broth somehow tasted like beef bouillon, where they put just too much in it. The baked potato was excessively salted. The rib eye needed a little trimming.
All in all, the food was good and the location classy, just not quite up to the caliber of other visits. And it seemed that the price was a bit pricier than previous visits. With tip (which was 20% because the waiter was excellent), it ran about $70/person for five people with a single bottle of wine and only a complimentary birthday desert for one individual.
In summary, it's good, but not astounding. You will not be embarrassed bringing friends from out of town there. But you'll pay more than I personally think it's worth. I will give it another try, because I have been happier in the past, but I am concerned that the next visit might be the last.
The restaurant and service were good. The food was just ok.
Very nice staff. Portions were generous at a good price
Won’t be giving this restaurant another try. Food was subpar for price. Restaurant was HOT, to the point people were getting sick. Slow service. Rude hostess. I’ve been here twice and had terrible experiences both times. We only went back because someone said it had gotten better and we should give it a second chance.
Very nice visit. Server, Dave was courteous and did’nt rush us through. Gave/highlighted specials. Wine list was good, though first choice wasn’t available. Perhaps, restaurant could go to an electric tablet wine list that could show actual inventory. Numerous places going to that format. Eliminates embarrassing moments to other guests seated with you. Food served was delicious, hot, and timely. We were allowed ample time to visit with friends whom we hadn’t got together in a long time.
We truly enjoyed our luncheon at Wildwood and will definitely return. Only complaint was that our service was slow.
Wildwood was not on top of thier game! The food was sub-par and very disappointing! Pancakes were so hard on one side they were sent back and the replacement didn’t come until everyone else at the table was almost finished. My quiche was burnt on top and had a cold spot in the middle. I had to ask for a new water glass since mine had lipstick on it. The omlette was over cooked and dry as well. Unfortunate for such a nice restaurant.
Overall pretty good, me and my girlfriend both enjoyed our meals and were very pleased at the speed of the serving. Would come again
We don't live in the area, therefore when we reached out to local friends for recommendations for a special (pre-wedding) dinner Wildwood was one of their recommendations. We chose Wildwood due to the nice menu selection. However we were extremely disappointed. Primary issue was with service. Server was completely lacking in warmth, efficiency, etc. It very much felt like she did the bare minimum to get the table turned, including laying the check down as soon as our plates were removed (without asking about the meal, asking about dessert, coffee, etc.). We paid the bill and went somewhere else for coffee and dessert and will not return or recommend.
Wonderful restaurant. Best menu and food in the Fox Valley. Great variety of fish, much better than every where else. Often eat there for lunch also. Again very good selection and food.
Our first time at the Wildwood with Army friends visiting from out of town. We had a great experience, from excellent service from our waitress and dining room manager, to the wonderful entrees: salmon, walleye, and chicken dishes. Desserts were awesome too!
Atmosphere is cozy and inviting.
We will definitely be back:)
Awesome experience. Perfect cocktails, steaks we're cooked perfectly and outdoor seating for our party made for a perfect ambiance and conversation.
We had a party of four, each person ordered a different entree. All were exceptional. The rub on the ribs was to die for! The service and presentation were great.
We decided to try their Sunday brunch. Our entrees were quiche of the day (we were told what veggies were in it, unfortunately some unwanted veggies not mentioned were in the quiche); the others entries were great: smoked salmon omelet and green eggs and ham benedict. The complimentary beignets and watermelon slices were a nice touch. Hope to be back soon!
For some reason this restaurant consistently seems to have air condition problems. We first dined there in May and noticed it was warm inside. But we ignored it to try and enjoy our meal. Our second (and last) visit was this past Saturday. On a hot July night it was hotter inside than outside. Our foreheads and necks were sweating and I was stuck to my seat. Disgusting! Ruined the night. Plus my Ribeye was fatty and chewy, but it was the thermostat that was the deal-breaker. Server was nice and agreed it was hot but he just said it’s always like that even though it’s set low. Won’t be back.
We love this restaurant and this is the first time ever for such poor service. The air conditioning was out which didn’t help. Especially disappointing as we brought friends. I’m afraid their first impression was a poor one☹️
Food was ok. Although place was empty, service was slow.
Celebrated my son’s birthday and enjoyed it very much. Would highly recommend.
This place was fantastic. Server was spot on. He very attentive, not pushy and offered his opinion when asked. Prime rib was outstanding. The smaller portion was huge. Artichoke fritters and sauce what so good. Can’t wait to go back.
First started going to Wildwood in 2008. Food & Service was excellent. Last time was probably in 2015. Noticed that the food wasn’t as good and service was slow. We had a waiter that was constantly sweating. Wasn’t a great experience. Decided to try it out again this last Sunday hoping that it had gotten better. Again disappointed. Our server was very nice and accommodating but service was still very slow. My son’s steak was very rare (ordered medium), clams and scallops were gritty with sand. Overall food was just ehh. Geneva is a thriving restaurant town. Both my husband and I said we wouldn’t go back to Wildwood.
We've eaten at Wildwood many times, but tonight was a disappointment. The air conditioner was either not on or not working. The waitress was not at the top of her game. Part of our order didn't even reach the table. The veal chop was over peppered. Very disappointing.
Great place for brunch. Great menu food and service. Excellent beignets are complimentary!
It was my first time there and I thought it was excellent. I would go again.
Went for Father’s Day brunch. Excellent service & delicious food. I would recommend the quiche...nice portions & fresh ingredients. Highly recommend for all occasions & worth the drive for the complimentary benigts alone!
Father’s Day brunch .. service very slow
Father’s Day brunch complete with mimosas and peach bellinis. (They also have a great choice of Bloody Marys which are quite good.) Chorizo omelette with roasted avocado and potatoes was delicious and served with corn tortillas with queso fresco. Complimentary beignets could have used a little more powdered sugar, but are a nice alternative to toast. Service was good and paced appropriately.
It was a warm, humid evening and the air conditioning was grossly inadequate. We were very uncomfortable and other customers were fanning themselves with menus during the evening. We asked our server if he could turn the thermostat down but he said the air conditioning was inadequate to cool the dining room on a very warm day.
Our food was good but sitting at our table sweating ruined the meal.
Ordered Dover Sole, but not prepared at table as customary for this fish
