We came for unique cuisine we couldn't find elsewhere and were elated when we left. The flavors were more subtle than expected and intricate with each course beautifully designed, accompanied by an in depth description from the perfectly attentive but non-invasive waiter. (The kind of food that deserves to be photographed.) The Wagyu beef was perfectly prepared and the dry aged duck was very rich. The portions were sufficient, especially following the complimentary house ciabatta with truffle butter, as well as beet and pear salads (respectively) and Whiskey and Cinnamon ice cream with berry cobbler to split for dessert. Everything was gourmet, with a wine list to compliment.
Come for a quiet, romantic atmosphere, though there is no visual privacy (open dining room, but cozy atmosphere) and the tables allow for normal volume neighborly conversation to be easily overheard. Wyoming chic with antler candelabra, bare wood tables, huge fireplace. Visual of kitchen doesn't really fit the atmosphere, but it's kind of nice to see the genius at work.
Excellent food and service! Would highly recommend to friends and family. The fireplace was lovely too. The only recommendation I have would be to have ambient lighting.
Wild Sage has an older feel. The staff and chefs were great and very accommodating.
The food was a little bland for my liking. Im not saying it was bad because thats not at all what im stating - it was good but needed a tad more flavor
It is like being at home by the cozy fire but served a delicious meal course after scrumptious course. The waiter,Jason even remembered to get me Aperol for Aperol Spritz. Perfect birthday evening!
Outstanding in all respects.
My first ever dinner here was as described many other reviewers. Excellent! The service was perfect. The cozy atmosphere was ideal and it was snowing outside! The food was excellent and the bread should be noted, is to die for. I highly recommend if you're looking for a more intimate, quieter setting where you can enjoy excellent food and your conversation. I prefer restaurants that have higher quality food with fewer items on the menu. If you prefer a noisy bar-like atmosphere, this is not for you. The hotel is charming as well. And they have a small den-like bar area that is great for a drink before dinner or anytime!
We try to spend my birthday here every year. It's a wonderful classy, cozy restaurant. Exceptional food and staff. I alway's try something new and I'm never disappointed. We'll be back next year!
This is what delightful dining is all about--fantastic food, stellar service and ideal intimacy. We celebrated our anniversary and a birthday and the evening's meal exceeded all expectations. This is our #1 go-to-place in Jackson.
Best Restaurant in Jackson! Chef should be consulted by other Jackson restaurants on how to cook a steak, lamb, pork, or bison. Awesome food EVERY time we have gone.
We are locals and come here whenever we want to feel special. The food is outstanding, the service is excellent. We love this restaurant. During the busy season it is hard to get a reservation as it has to serve its guests (it's a boutique hotel) as well as the many locals whop treasure this place as much as we do.
We celebrated my husband's birthday on Sunday night, October 28 with our son and daughter in law. The atmosphere is rustic but elegant, the service very professional and the food outstanding. This is a special restaurant to try in Jackson, Wyoming. We enjoyed everything from the salads and soup to the entrees and then the delicious desserts. This restaurant should be one to try when visiting Jackson. It's very small so make sure you get a reservation in advance.
We went here on our honeymoon and the service was over the top!! Appetizers were so delicious! Main course we good but the starter dishes set the bar to high! We didn’t order dessert but they knew why we were there and gave a dessert to share! Definitely would go back!
We are locals and we love this restaurant. The food is beautifully prepared, my preferences are catered to (I hate greens!), the staff is friendly and attentive, and has been with the restaurant for years. We had the lamb and it was delicious. And since we splurged on an appetizer, we had no room for dessert, which was a shame as we love their desserts.
It was a disappointing meal overall. My girlfriend and I were there for dinner after a long day hiking at the park and very hungry. She ordered risotto and I did salmon for the main thinking it should be good as the menu said "wild salmon." It turned out her risotto was more like a hard textured mixed rice and my salmon didn't have any flavor, slight hint of fishy smell, past prime. We left the place without dessert as the food quality was unimpressive despite their reputation for being one of the best restaurants in downtown Jackson.
Wonderful service and atmosphere. Would go here again.
The food was not up to the standard of our last visit there. Smaller portions and the short ribs were a bit tough and fatty. The salmon was excellent.
I love the Rusty Parrot; the hotel is warm and friendly, the atmosphere so convivial, the rooms lovely...... I have dined at the RP before, but it has been a long time; this time was somewhat disappointing in that the options were very limited. One fish; beef; and one other choice. I felt that the exclusivity and uniqueness of the dining has declined and the service, while good, was only fair. The wine list was one of the best that we encountered in town, so that helped! The overhead chandelier in the dining area is SO BRIGHT that you cannot see the server's face when trying to look at them . Dinner, while good, was disappointing in that I expected more fish selections (more than ONE anyway!). I feel the menu needs some updating, and the tables need to be cleaned well between breakfast and dinner, as ours definitely was sticky both times we sat there. Love the place, but it has become dated.
We had another spectacular meal here and plan to continue to make reservations each time we return to town!
Small and intimate dining experience. Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. Very good wine list and full bar. If you want a laid back gourmet experience, come to the Wild Sage. Not cheap but not too expensive either.
We stayed at the hotel which was first class too. Highly recommend making a reservation.
We stayed at the Rusty Parrot and had the good fortune to dine at Wild Sage for breakfast and dinner. Both were amazing meals, especially dinner. It was one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had!
We truly enjoyed our dinner at Wild Sage. There were six of us dining, and we found the small dining room to be charming. We all tried different dishes, and we were so pleased! We were guests in the Rusty Parrot Lodge and had breakfast in Wild Sage each morning. Not only was the food healthy and delicious, but the pastries were amazing. Loved it!
Superb service and excellent food!!
The staff deliveries a dining experience well beyond the other dining options that lend to the “western” atmosphere!! A must when in Jackson!!
Excellent food, appropriate portions, amuse-bouche was terrific, a peaceful, high-quality dinner.
Portions of entrees were very small.
I had the bison ribs. I believe I was given 3-4. I think it was deceptive. My son had the roast chicken. It would seem that the chicken must have been divided into 8 servings. It came with a waffle, strange. The wine was good and so was the salad. You could go to the Wild Sage for an entree appetizer and then go somewhere else for your meal. Ideally a place that doesn’t con their patrons.
Food very good as always. Ambiance very nice. Only shortcoming is limited menu with no vegitarian entrees.
First rate restaurant with great food and terrific staff. Best kitchen in Jackson Hole.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday, and the service and food were both outstanding. Highly recommended to any one looking for a special spot for a special occasion.
It is simply the best dining experience in Jackson Hole, and there are a lot of great choices here
Great meal friendly service in a great setting.
Fantastic. Great restaurant. Five stars—food was great, inventive, and superb.
The best restaurant in Jackson. Quaint, quiet atmosphere, wonderful service, amazing food, great wine list. Get the crab cakes!
We dined here for my husband’s birthday. The food was outstanding! We ordered 2 specials- an arugula with tomatoes salad and a seared salmon with small potatoes and fava beans and spinach. We finished with the peach cobbler. Everything was very good. The service was also great. The plates were put together in front of you, on the kitchen counter. It was a great dinner, worth every penny! Thank you for a nice culinary experience!
Service was very poor: our waiter was difficult to hear, I specifically told him I hated cilantro yet the amuse bouchée had a cilantro based sauce, we overheard another table being told there were specials on the menu but he didn’t tell us, he wasn’t rude but certainly not friendly, and he only checked on us once. My husband had the steak and practically licked the plate clean. I had the halibut that was devoid of any seasoning. The mushroom risotto starter was adequate but again, the chef forgot to season it. My husband had the crab cakes that surprisingly had a large hunk of king crab on top and, again, he loved. It.
The ambiance was a small dining room of 10-12 tables of 2-4 people with an open kitchen which did nothing to create any kind of intimacy.
The plating was very good, but not extraordinary. Absolutely no reason to return or recommend it to anyone.
Amazing. From the very start we were treated incredibly well. The TEAMWORK during service was evident! And the food...mouth-watering deliciousness. If you are questioning where to go, pick Wild Sage. You won’t be disappointed.
I was disappointed that I told them it was a birthday and nothing was said or sent to the table.
Wold Sage is one of ny favorites when I come to Jackson. I love the ambiance, the menu is outstanding, service, impeccable! Great to be back...
My foodie cousin and his wife, who arrived in the afternoon after a long trip from The Netherlands, joined us for dinner. I spent time researching what might be one of the best restaurants in Jackson before making a reservation last July. We were disappointed in that our reservation was for 7:30pm and we weren’t seated until after 8pm. Happily, all of our meals and desserts were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Service was slow but it was a holiday weekend and perhaps they were understaffed. The restaurant was small and cozy but the antler chandelier’s lights were too bright and I should have asked them to dim the lights for a better evening meal ambience.
We were visiting from out of state. It can be difficult to make a decision on the perfect place for a special occasion when you only have online reviews however, that is what I rely on more and more. So please take my recommendation and dine at the Wild Sage. If you need lodging in Jackson Hole, I loved the personal touches and service at their Rusty Parrot Lodge too.
We had our anniversary dinner at the Wild Sage. This is the most beautiful quiet small restaurant. There are four or five chefs working right in front of you in the kitchen. The creativity of the cuisine is unbelievable. I had the Bison short ribs which were moist and so flavorful, and my husband had the roasted chicken which was on a bed of three different kinds of peas. It was all amazing the peach cobbler with the sour ice cream was to die for. It’s so nice and quiet you can hear each other talking. Must get a reservation at But it is so worth it. Little bit high price but worth every penny for incredible creative cuisine. Hats off to the chef.
