Wild Sage @ The Rusty Parrot Lodge
Simply the best restaurant in Jackson
Delicious food. The atmosphere would be perfect if they added some background music. There is a big crackling fire, the decor is lovely and cozy, and the open kitchen is neat. But with no music, it can be a bit awkward depending on how many people are there and conversations going on.
The drinks, food and service here are simply outstanding! Definitely the very best, most creative, and perfectly presented meals in all of Jackson. This is the restaurant not to be missed.
We had our 15th Anniversary dinner here and loved it! Excellent experience, would definitely recommend it, and will be back when we’re in town on vacation next time!
👍🏼👍🏼
Fantastic food. Buffalo tenderloin! One of the better food experiences I’ve had in years.
We enjoyed the quiet rustic ambiance of the dining room. The extensive wine list contained a number of excellent wines. The food was innovative and well prepared. The service was friendly and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Just a remarkable restaurant in the heart of Jackson. Small quiet room, cozy atmosphere with a fireplace and open kitchen. Exceptional seasonal cuisine, prepared perfectly. Service is best I have encountered anywhere. I dine out as much for the service as for the food. The Wild Sage exceeds expectations on all fronts.
Our meals were excellent and the service was friendly
Anniversary dinner
Great food and great service.
This is a very small, intimate high level dining experience. It's as though they are inviting you into their home to cook for you. Chefs are in view of diners and are eager to please. Server was exceptional, with a great knowledge of the items on the menu as well as their sourcing. Very limited menu, particularly for vegetarians, so check their seasonal menu ahead. Like many upscale resturants in Jackson, this menu is heavier on game and beef. This is a dining experience, not a meal.
Romantic and quiet, great food and service. A very nice place to celebrate my birthday.
My wife’s gnocchi was so mustard-laden as to be inedible. She ate one bite. I tasted it and had the same reaction. The waiter never asked if there was a problem. Instead, when the meal was over, he asked if he should box it up to take home. When she explained why she hadn’t eaten it, he said nothing. No apology, no expression of regret. Nothing. The beet salad appetizer was mediocre.
We have been to this restaurant about half a dozen times. This time was a colossal disappointment and their reaction to serving something that a patron could not eat was inexcusable.
Food was excellent, the best in Jackson actually. It’s a small space.
The best restaurant in Jackson Hole, WY
Outstanding. We ate at 4 different Jackson restaurants for dinner during our stay. Wild Sage is at the top of the list. It is an up-scale, creative, fine dining experience. Multiple courses take 1 to 2 hours to enjoy. Pricing is also 'up-scale' but appropriate for the type and quality of the dishes.
We visited Wild Sage for our anniversary celebration. Our experience was divine. We loved the jumbo lump crab cake starter and the wild caught salmon and wagyu steak were all outstanding. It's a wonderful retreat for a quiet evening with excellent food, wine and service.
We came for unique cuisine we couldn't find elsewhere and were elated when we left. The flavors were more subtle than expected and intricate with each course beautifully designed, accompanied by an in depth description from the perfectly attentive but non-invasive waiter. (The kind of food that deserves to be photographed.) The Wagyu beef was perfectly prepared and the dry aged duck was very rich. The portions were sufficient, especially following the complimentary house ciabatta with truffle butter, as well as beet and pear salads (respectively) and Whiskey and Cinnamon ice cream with berry cobbler to split for dessert. Everything was gourmet, with a wine list to compliment.
Come for a quiet, romantic atmosphere, though there is no visual privacy (open dining room, but cozy atmosphere) and the tables allow for normal volume neighborly conversation to be easily overheard. Wyoming chic with antler candelabra, bare wood tables, huge fireplace. Visual of kitchen doesn't really fit the atmosphere, but it's kind of nice to see the genius at work.
Excellent food and service! Would highly recommend to friends and family. The fireplace was lovely too. The only recommendation I have would be to have ambient lighting.
Wild Sage has an older feel. The staff and chefs were great and very accommodating.
The food was a little bland for my liking. Im not saying it was bad because thats not at all what im stating - it was good but needed a tad more flavor
It is like being at home by the cozy fire but served a delicious meal course after scrumptious course. The waiter,Jason even remembered to get me Aperol for Aperol Spritz. Perfect birthday evening!
Outstanding in all respects.
My first ever dinner here was as described many other reviewers. Excellent! The service was perfect. The cozy atmosphere was ideal and it was snowing outside! The food was excellent and the bread should be noted, is to die for. I highly recommend if you're looking for a more intimate, quieter setting where you can enjoy excellent food and your conversation. I prefer restaurants that have higher quality food with fewer items on the menu. If you prefer a noisy bar-like atmosphere, this is not for you. The hotel is charming as well. And they have a small den-like bar area that is great for a drink before dinner or anytime!
We try to spend my birthday here every year. It's a wonderful classy, cozy restaurant. Exceptional food and staff. I alway's try something new and I'm never disappointed. We'll be back next year!
This is what delightful dining is all about--fantastic food, stellar service and ideal intimacy. We celebrated our anniversary and a birthday and the evening's meal exceeded all expectations. This is our #1 go-to-place in Jackson.
Best Restaurant in Jackson! Chef should be consulted by other Jackson restaurants on how to cook a steak, lamb, pork, or bison. Awesome food EVERY time we have gone.
We are locals and come here whenever we want to feel special. The food is outstanding, the service is excellent. We love this restaurant. During the busy season it is hard to get a reservation as it has to serve its guests (it's a boutique hotel) as well as the many locals whop treasure this place as much as we do.
We celebrated my husband's birthday on Sunday night, October 28 with our son and daughter in law. The atmosphere is rustic but elegant, the service very professional and the food outstanding. This is a special restaurant to try in Jackson, Wyoming. We enjoyed everything from the salads and soup to the entrees and then the delicious desserts. This restaurant should be one to try when visiting Jackson. It's very small so make sure you get a reservation in advance.
Absolutely great. Small, quaint, but fit our group of 10 perfectly. The service was phenomenal, the food exceptional. Very cozy and a must in Jackson Hole.
We went here on our honeymoon and the service was over the top!! Appetizers were so delicious! Main course we good but the starter dishes set the bar to high! We didn’t order dessert but they knew why we were there and gave a dessert to share! Definitely would go back!
We are locals and we love this restaurant. The food is beautifully prepared, my preferences are catered to (I hate greens!), the staff is friendly and attentive, and has been with the restaurant for years. We had the lamb and it was delicious. And since we splurged on an appetizer, we had no room for dessert, which was a shame as we love their desserts.
It was a disappointing meal overall. My girlfriend and I were there for dinner after a long day hiking at the park and very hungry. She ordered risotto and I did salmon for the main thinking it should be good as the menu said "wild salmon." It turned out her risotto was more like a hard textured mixed rice and my salmon didn't have any flavor, slight hint of fishy smell, past prime. We left the place without dessert as the food quality was unimpressive despite their reputation for being one of the best restaurants in downtown Jackson.
Wonderful service and atmosphere. Would go here again.
The food was not up to the standard of our last visit there. Smaller portions and the short ribs were a bit tough and fatty. The salmon was excellent.
I love the Rusty Parrot; the hotel is warm and friendly, the atmosphere so convivial, the rooms lovely...... I have dined at the RP before, but it has been a long time; this time was somewhat disappointing in that the options were very limited. One fish; beef; and one other choice. I felt that the exclusivity and uniqueness of the dining has declined and the service, while good, was only fair. The wine list was one of the best that we encountered in town, so that helped! The overhead chandelier in the dining area is SO BRIGHT that you cannot see the server's face when trying to look at them . Dinner, while good, was disappointing in that I expected more fish selections (more than ONE anyway!). I feel the menu needs some updating, and the tables need to be cleaned well between breakfast and dinner, as ours definitely was sticky both times we sat there. Love the place, but it has become dated.
We had another spectacular meal here and plan to continue to make reservations each time we return to town!
Small and intimate dining experience. Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. Very good wine list and full bar. If you want a laid back gourmet experience, come to the Wild Sage. Not cheap but not too expensive either.
We stayed at the hotel which was first class too. Highly recommend making a reservation.
We stayed at the Rusty Parrot and had the good fortune to dine at Wild Sage for breakfast and dinner. Both were amazing meals, especially dinner. It was one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had!
We truly enjoyed our dinner at Wild Sage. There were six of us dining, and we found the small dining room to be charming. We all tried different dishes, and we were so pleased! We were guests in the Rusty Parrot Lodge and had breakfast in Wild Sage each morning. Not only was the food healthy and delicious, but the pastries were amazing. Loved it!
Superb service and excellent food!!
The staff deliveries a dining experience well beyond the other dining options that lend to the “western” atmosphere!! A must when in Jackson!!
