Better than any restaurant even in Charlotte!
Great place with great food- service is on key-
Great food, the atmosphere is very nice . Outstanding service by everyone I dealt with for the bar to the wait staff. Highly recommend!!
I reserved a table for four several weeks in advance on Open Table. I specifically requested one of the half-round booths in the balcony since we were bringing some good friends to help us celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. I called one day before the reservation to confirm they would be able to accommodate the request. The young lady confirmed it would be no problem since we were dining early (5:45 pm). I even called the day of the reservation a few hours before to confirm yet again, as I wanted our friends(who had not dined @WCK before) to enjoy the great view from the lowest balcony level of the open kitchen. Upon arrival, I asked the hostess if they were still going to be able to accommodate my special request. She nodded yes and away we went upstairs. Unfortunately, the hostess seated us in the highest level at an end table that could not even see the lower level. I was very disappointed but didn’t say anything since all of the booths appeared to be occupied. I understand things happen and our guests did not complain, but I was disappointed that the restaurant could not accommodate my repeated request from several weeks earlier.
Other than the non-existent view and rather cramp space of the top corner table (plus it was a bit warm), service by Lex and the food was excellent. The server who brought our iced teas (one sweet & one unsweet) misidentified them and caused an additional delay while one was replaced since I sipped from the wrong one. My wife also noticed the Box Office salad is now in a plate instead of the normal bowl that we have seen previously. She thought it was smaller than before and the presentation was not as nice. The entrees (filet, parma grana chicken, short rib, prime rib) all received good reviews. Taste & temperature of the food was very good.
All in all- a 4* experience that could have been 5* had we been given the booth requested & repeatedly promised. We still love the place and will be back with other friends & family.
The food is always cooked to perfection and the managers stop by every table to ensure your having a great experience.
Amazing food and service! Will be going back again soon!
Classic movie theater is the backdrop for a high quality meal of interesting ingredients. restaurant week allowed me to enjoy in a budget friendly way. We had a table with a great view of the movie screen and open kitchen.
Only downside is that it was incredibly hot upstairs.
Great food, service, atmosphere! Went during Restaurant Week so it was busy, but the service was wonderful! Love the space and ambiance, I will definitely be back. The food was excellent as well.
LA was a great server! We enjoyed our evening! Food was wonderful!
A great place with lots of interest and character. Awesome food and dedicated wait staff! Perfect place to dine for King/Queen’s Feast and anytime!
I am so glad that I discovered Webb custom kitchen! I have had the best meals of my life there. Sorry, but I don't tell many people about it because then we wouldn't be able to get in!
Great time! Place really crowded! Good job! Thanks!
Great as usual.
Excellent dinner. Late seating us but didn’t cause a problem for us. We will be back!
Absolutely fantastic. Filet mignon was perfect. Fabulous energy and ambience. Can’t wait for our next visit to Gastonia so we can go again!
We love this place. We have never had a dish that we didn’t like. Everything is delicious and fresh. The service is great and you are not rushed. They have never brought dinner with our appetizer on the table (like a lot of places). Our waitress was always there to remove an empty plate, glass or anything that was finished or might be in the way. The only complaint I have is that even though we had a reservation, it was almost 45 minutes before we were seated. But we grabbed a cocktail from the bar while we waited and our dinner was worth the wait.
Great concept, reception warm, ambitious menu, food tasty, waiters friendly; this will be a destination for us to plan for even if out of the way on our journeys. We sent pictures of establishment and plated food to our friends and encouraged them to attend.
Food should not be allowed to taste that good!.. The waitstaff is professional and on point. The ambiance is romantic yet fun and I love that they show American movie Classics on the big screen while you dine... it’s definitely not cheap, but it’s worth every penny.
Very good restaurant it’s the best in Gaston County. We will definitely become regulars.
This was our second visit & it was just as good as the first. Great selection with great taste.
We were visiting from Michigan and heard a great review of Webb. This place did not disappoint! The service was fantastic with Southern charm, the food was spot on, and the ambiance was great. People need to venture from Charlotte to Gastonia for this place.
The food was fantastic. The service was spot-on. Our server was attentive and came by our table frequently to check to ensure all was OK. We both had the Fillet, and it was one of the best steaks I have eaten.
I highly recommend Webb Custom Kitchen.
A always the service and food were impeccable. Always amazed at how great and consistent everything is each time we visit. Family and friends are hooked as much as we are. Hope they are open for many years to come.
We had heard it was a unique place. It is all that and more. The space itself is breathtaking. It’s a former movie palace — the kind that showed one film at a time. The cavernous space has been gorgeously preserved. The vast arched ceiling is a framework of polished wood and pale panels.
Now there’s an open-air kitchen in front of the screen instead of a stage. And there are elegant tables where rows of seats once stood, even in the balcony. The ornate original decor is enhanced with antique gear and new art along the walls.
But we came to eat, and again we were delighted beyond expectations. We had wraps for lunch — veggie and shrimp — with superb zucchini fries and an ice-cold lager. They were fresh, flavorful and filling. Prices are quite reasonable, at least for the lunches. If we lived in the area we’d be back often. Anyone looking for a neat experience in the Charlotte-Gastonia area should make a reservation or just go look.
It was my friends birthday and it was great!
The food was really good and the service was Awesome.
Exceptional service and food. Steaks perfectly cooked. Loved the fried green tomatoes appetizer.
This place was amazing and so pretty!! The server was the best and was so nice and the food was really good. A lot of the food seemed to overpriced for what you got but it was still worth it.
Everything was great. The only negative is that when we arrived we were told they did not have a reservation for us although I had a confirmation from open table. Not sure what happened with this.
We went to celebrate a birthday and everything was excellent. Highly recommend the ribeye....it was amazing!!!!
This restaurant is 40 minutes from my house but worth the trip. Love sitting in the historical "movie theater". Great menu items and always delicious. Really great and unique spot to take out of town guests.
Great experience, had a wonderful time on our Anniversary, loved and thoroughly enjoyed the old theatre theme, very original. In fact, that was a big reason why we chose to have dinner there and why we would come back.
The food was good...it wasn’t very warm and the service was slightly lacking. We didn’t see our waitress very much. The atmosphere was the best!! Overall we enjoyed it, but feel the service could have been better.
Our server Zach was fantastic! We were not rushed and able to celebrate our anniversary
We were celebrating a birthday. Everything from the artisanal bread basket to the steaks were amazing! Awesome onion soup, amazing salads! Drinks from the bar were awesome. The waitress, Jessica, was fun and friendly. She even helped us serve the cake we brought in. I can’t recommend this place enough!
We got there 15 min early but we were seated right away -- always a good sign. Upon sitting down our waiter came over and gave us a history of the building which was really cool and then took our order.
He then delivered our drinks and a few minutes later our food came and it was delicious.
The crab cakes were moist with just a slight crust to them and the filet was so tender.
I could not have asked for a better experience.
My husband and I enjoyed dining at Webb Custom Kitchen very much. Our server Lindsey was outstanding! The food was wonderful and the ambiance is undeniably most unique. We will return again and will pass the word to others!
Charming establishment set in the heart of Historic Gastonia.
Love the fact that the restaurant was once the old movie theater in town back from the roaring 20’s which is reflected throughout the decor-
Menu has a mix of elegance with contemporary and reasonably priced .
Food is astounding and the service is on key.
Everything about our evening was amazing. It was the perfect place to celebrate our son’s and his fiancé’s engagement. The selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts were wonderful and every part of our meal was delicious. Kudos to our server who was very attentive and knowledgeable about the restaurants history. If there was anything I could change, it would be the noise level, but it wasn’t unbearable. I definitely will come back and definitely recommend it to all of my friends.
Webb Theatre was a beautiful setting with an old b/w movie playing with no sound on the screen. Quiet, restful. Wait staff was exceptional. They each signed a card for us when we left because it was our wedding anniversary. It had a strip of environmental flowers attached to plant. Salads were perfect. My herb crusted chicken was cooked beautifully but it was better without so much of the crust. The shrimp and grits were spicy and not your typical shrimp and grits. The drinks were very good. Would recommend for special occasions or simply a nice night dining out.
