Waypoint Seafood & Grill
As always a wonderful meal at this restaurant
Great food Great fun. Great service! General Manager Howard’s pleasant disposition put the icing on the cake! Wonderful birthday celebration! Thanks Waypoint .
Worth a splurge! Lovely, understated dining room (in a strip mall). Server seemed a tad inexperienced (we had to ask for the cocktail and wine list, and he was a little sloppy) but very nice and helpful. I love a good craft cocktail and this one delivered (I think it was called All Night something?). The appetizers--lobster spring roll and their signature crab soup--were exquisite, and the entrees didn't disappoint either--Wiener schnitzel (the chef's specialty) and osso bucco. The wine list is varied and there's a fair selection of wines by the glass. We didn't manage to save room for dessert, but we'll definitely be back.
I've lived in Williamsburg for years and this was the first time to Waypoint. Why did we wait so long? It was the best meal experience we've had since we moved here. Great food, great service and nice ambiance. Christin was terrific. I was celebrating my birthday. A great dining experience. We will be back soon.
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at beautiful Waypoint. The food was delicious--we had fish and chips, burger and chicken pot pie. The service was perfect--our server was attentive but not overbearing.
We were greeted warmly by the hostess and immediately guided to a well-placed table near the fireplace. The waitress arrived in very short order, offered a review of house specialty items and explained the entrées we were interested in in more detail. The restaurant was new to three of the four in attendance and all agreed, that it was a wonderful culinary experience and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.
We live away from the area, so this was a special trip. Waypoint Way oysters are superb and crab cakes delicious, waiter excellent.
Great upscale service and food at a reasonable price
We were out for a special dinner on vacation. WOW! We wish we could bring Waypoint home with us! Everything about the experience was wonderful, but the food itself was simply exquisite. If you are in the area, don’t miss this one! It wasn’t even crowded, and that worries us, because we want it to be there the next time we visit the area.
We always agree a great place to dine in Williamsburg. Waypoint Oysters can't be beat. We had the lobster spring rolls for the first time and thought they were exceptional. Christin, our server could not have been more professional. Looking forward to many more meals at the Waypoint Grill.
The food was delicious, presentation was classy, ambiance was inviting, & staff was very attentive!
Overall a wonderful experience. One odd thing though. We had a 5:30PM reservation and the hostesss elected to seat us right next to the only other couple in the restaurant at the time. Not sure if it was intentional or thoughtless. Would have been nice to have an intimate conversation before the place filled up.
Never a disappointment here! Wide variety of items on menu, all prepared fresh (crisp sweet potato fries provide ample evidence). Well rounded experience with personal service, great food, and a stop by the GM--a real engagement, not superficial-- to check on the table. A tad pricey, but quality worth paying for.
We arrived a little late in the evening, but were never pushed or felt hurried. That, to me says a lot about the service in general, friendly, efficient and always smiling. Food was perfect and delicious. Great food (I like that it's locally sourced) and wine selections, accommodating to special requests overall a wonderful experience. Will definitely recommend and revisit in the future.
We enjoyed Way Point, and the server's recommendation of a new dish on the menu was excellent pimento cheese, country ham, and lump crab served on an English muffin!!! How could it get any better!!
Ask for a table when you make your reservation!!!
We had a lovely dinner this week. We were seated near a fireplace, which was a welcome treat after all day outside at Colonial Williamsburg. The service was perfect; the meal was delicious. Highly recommended!
Excellent Salmon and chef graciously blackened it for me. The daily Mahi-Mahi was drier for my husband, but everything else was delicious.
The best short ribs ever!!!! Great service recommend seat next to fireplace
We love Waypoint for the perfectly prepared food. Just delicious! Wait staff is friendly and efficient. We would recommend Waypoint, our favorite local eatery, to all.
The Oysters Waypoint Way were perfect, served warm and the oyster was still soft. Shrimp and grits were creamy comfort. The scallops & shrimp with butternut tortellini was fresh and light. Cocktails before and after the meal were prepared with care.
Three of us had lunch there with the Oktoberfest menu. Two of us had the chicken schnitzel served with ref cabbage and spaetzel. I would have preferred the chicken breast pounded instead of thick. The other had the bratwurst. Both dishes flavorful.
We've been to Waypoint once before, and everything was great. Tonight, though, there were all kinds of problems.
Our entrees took an hour to come out after just a Cesar salad appetizer. When it did arrive, my husband's food was dry, my lobster was undercooked, and there rest of my dinner was barely lukewarm.
On top of that, our server was rude, and service in general was disappointing. I would be willing to go back if someone I know really wanted to go, but if I have a choice, I'll opt to go elsewhere.
Great Octoberfest entrees and attentive service. Great Place...
Warm inviting interior. Excellent food and drink. Staff very friendly, attentive, and professional in providing great customer service. Nice location for special occasion and celebration events.
The Waypoint lived up to our rather high expectations. The ambience is lovey, and it’s so nice to actually be able to talk to friends over dinner. Our waiter, Eric, was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. And the food was delicious. A special shout out goes to the restaurant for its innovative “light up” menus. Perfect!
Food is ALWAYS perfect with great taste and presentation. The service this time was less enthusiastic. The server actual appeared not interested in their job. The noise level at the bar was extremely loud for a Wednesday night.
Waypoint never disappoints. The service and food are wonderful - the best of everything without being stuffy or pompous. It is always a great experience - we highly recommend it.
Great meal with friends. We enjoyed oysters waypoint way and seafood grits. Friends loved Octoberfest menudo. Our go to restaurant in williamsburg.
Excellent meal. Best we have in 4 days in Williamsburg. Great staff, great chef and a fantastic dinner.
Excellent food and service! We will definitely go back
Always a nice, quiet restaurant to visit with fun specialty cocktails, friendly and efficient waitstaff and tasty selections of well prepared foods.
Waypoint is our favorite restaurant for special occasions. Reservation made through Open Table. Reservation was noted as an 'Anniversary'. We were seated in the corner of a room off the main dining room. My wife's view was of a blank wall. We have never been seated in that room. Wait staff forgot our appetizer order. Later when reminded they apologized and took the appetizer off of our bill. The food was outstanding.
Overall the evening was a disappointment. Good meal, lousy seating, and unimpressive wait staff.
We left with the impression that Open Table reservations put you in a different category than a local reservation. Might not be the case but won't make a reservation with Waypoint through Open Table again.
Dined with my wife while visiting Williamsburg. Entrees excellent, but my desert (crème brulee) was disappointing. Server was attentive and knowledgeable.
Two of us had the chicken schnitzel lunch and all was excellent. The coating was succulent, done just right to be crispy and the server, Eric, brought finely textured sauce to add. Cucumber salad and sweet potato pomme frites made for a meal that reminded us of our meals overlooking the Mosel in Germany.
This was a great find. The food and service were exceptional.
My experience at waypoint seafood & Grill was great. My wife and I had a great time. Food and service was great. I will most definitely come back when I am in the area
Waypoint was a good find. The service was extraordinary. The food was largely very good. The calimari was among the best I've had; cooked and seasoned perfectly. My wife had the schnitzel, which she loved. I had the shrimp and scallop pasta. Both were cooked perfectly, but the pasta was a bit doughy. But that was the only negative aspect of the whole evening. Would definitely recommend.
The service and food where outstanding. With that said I noticed throughout the night that I man stopped at almost ever table, asked how things where chatted a moment and even came back to some tables about every 15 min. Not once did he stop and ask me or my wife how things were. I guess that we didn't look like we had a lot of money so he didn't need to talk to us. With that said, we will probally not return based on his treatment to my famliy.
Went there for lunch ,wonderful our waitress was knowledgeable and not pushy ,my girlfriend and i just wanted one of their awesome appetizers and sparkling rose no problem love this place for lunch friendly staff and great atmosphere.
